I was just about to post this link here, when I saw your post. I posted it in the Shania thread in the Music News section instead. ;)

Quitter is as country, if not more country, than anything on the radio today. If country radio doesn't support this, they're nuts. But them being nuts wouldn't surprise me.

This song, and video, are very country. Unfortunately, I highly doubt "Quitter" will go to # 1. My highest hopes are a Top 5 for this song. "Quitter" is in the Top 50 now and Today is now it's official release date. I'm hoping that's a good sign.

After the add date, the song takes a hit, down to #56. Just when I think I understand the chart, this stuff happens. Every single one of Shania's songs from the GH lost major spins/audience the day after the add. Does that make sense? Anyone here watch other songs...after the add does that happen to everyone or is it just a Shania thing? ???

I Ain't No Quitter is a great record. Shania Twain is the only thing in music in the last 20 years. She is the female Elvis. When she's gone, there will be nothing. Read my Shania article: jimcolyer.com/papers/entry?id=46Jim Colyer

Anyone here watch other songs...after the add does that happen to everyone or is it just a Shania thing? ??? On Mediabase yesterday it had 192 spins. Today it has 147 spins. I'm not exactly sure why it would drop that many the day after the add date, but in the long run it'll probably not mean anything. I haven't looked at other songs in detail to see how common this 'day-after hangover' drop in spins happens. It sure does look odd though. You do have to remember that the Mediabase charts are actually a day behind the date posted. When you see an update that says it was generated on a Tuesday, it's actually the numbers for Monday. That's why you see preliminary numbers posted as early as 3am Pacfic each day, and then the numbers are finalized at about noon. Since I'm here I'll post a couple of Mediabase links for the song for the benefit of any Shania chart junkies out there... I do not listen to radio but I do play Shania Twain CDs in my truck. Being the last release of a GH CD, it is unlikely radio will back her single. Radio takes care of radio. Shania fans will take care of Shania. CMT will probably play the "I Ain't No Quitter" video because Shania is still beautiful and sexy, and people like to look at her. It is about money and looks. Shania is #1 here. Visit my site. www.jimcolyer.com

WOW! Mercury and Shania must be really desperate to have her back in the good graces of Nashville...not only does Mutt's computers create a pseudo-country tune for her to lipsync(Quitter), but now Mercury comes up with the tagline "She's Country, and proving it..." LMAO!!!!! How is she proving it? By lipsyncing on every Award Show? By creating soulless, hackneyed pop music and marketing it as "country"? Or by grabbing her breasts on a video and flipping the bird on a DVD? Or by having two actors rest their heads on her scantily clad chest? Or by cussing on live TV? LOL!! And here we thought Mercury doesn't promote Shania... ;)

Indeed! No one creates better videos then Shania! Really? Clearly you have never seen videos by Aphex Twin, Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, or Michael Jackson. I don't recall seeing any Shania video that isn't a collection of tired, cliched video stereotypes: Windblown hair, check. Billowy clothes, check. Pouty, comehither looks, check. Slow motion camerawork, check. Fake laughter and general "fun" dancing, check. Crawling towards the camera, seductively, check. Closeup shots of Bare navel and heaving bosom, check. "artsy" shots of singer riding a horse, check. Stark, black and white cinematography, check. How exactly are her videos original or even good?

Really? Clearly you have never seen videos by Aphex Twin, Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, or Michael Jackson. Clearly...I have....and I would rather watch a Shania video over one of theirs anyday. How many more accounts are you going to keep creating? You can't hide behind that proxy/dynamic IP of yours forever.

Shania Twain is the only thing left in music. She is the only good thing since ABBA broke up over 20 years ago. "I Ain't No Quitter" is a great record in the tradition of Elvis. Read my Shania article jimcolyer.com/papers/entry?id=46

If you are attempting to catch the "Quitter" video on the CMT Countdown, I have some information for you.
The "Quitter" video comes on at about 6:04 PM, eastern time.
The show started at 4:30 pm.
So, that means it came on about 1 hour and 34 minutes into the show.
