This wonderful song's disheartening chart performance so far is essentially a stinging indictment of today's country radio; I can only hope that tomorrow's Mediabase report on AllAccess will show a nice bump from his wonderful performance Sunday evening.

One can only hope George receives a bump from his performance, so glad to see him back on stage, performing a great song!

I've been anxiously checking its updated status each morning only to find its been nothing but stagnant since Monday's small bump. Today's corporately controlled country radio is obviously not going to give this a shot. I know George has had a great ride at country radio, but I still thought he had a couple of good years left there. I didn't actually think they'd just give up on his singles.

Down 45k overnight on MB. This is torture. The song's gains are tiny, its losses are tiny, and my patience for watching more of this unfold is also tiny.
Could make the top 30 on BB next week, not that that's much of a landmark -- that can happen if Craig Morgan goes recurrent and Brad Paisley drops down below IGAC, as long as Cole Swindell and the rest of the songs currently behind remain behind. I won't even get into the top 30 on MB scenario because this whole chart run is nothing but frustration. Top 30? Who really cares?

They're too obsessed with playing substantially inferior singles by numerous artists (and especially male vocalists) to know a standout masterpiece when they hear it, and their fixation with his (or Alan's) age is beyond asinine.

I Got A Car debuts at #35 on the digital chart. Maybe the sales will save the song yet. Hopefully, George Strait will land in the top 30 soon. If he does so next week, it would be week #25 for him.

Even more aggravating for me at least is that I've heard this so many times on the radio today. Alas, it's on a station that has been giving IGAC its chance since January. I've heard it at least three times on the same station throughout the day, but it's also the same station that played "I'll Think of Something" on my way home from work last night. When I switch over to the "other" station (which happens to be Billboard monitored) here in town I got "Drink to That All Night" and other bro-style songs.

^Ugh, don't even look at today's update. It'll fill you with false hope. I think the Houston station is giving today's bump. This makes me wonder where has the Dallas stations been for this?!? I thought for sure they'd be on board with IGAC. This chart run has been so infuriating.

At least Lousiville's two country stations (legendary WAMZ and newcomer WQNU are spinning this 40+ time per week; Q103.1 is playing it right now, followed by the hopelessly inferior 'Dirt Road Anthem' and the downright excruciating-and-then-some 'Get Me Some Of That' followed by 'That's My Kind Of Night'--did somebody besides me say MAKE IT STOP???????
You cannot tell me with a straight face that Straitaholics including yours truly have no problem with their hometown stations playing anything from his catalogue, nor the fact that his current CD is an absolute masterpiece, right up there with 'The Road Less Traveled', 'Honkytonkville' and the ridiculously impeccable 'Blue Clear Sky'.

I'm just lucky that we still have local stations that spin lots of George. Not only did I hear IGAC again this afternoon, but I can go days where I'll hear anything ranging from "Unwound" to "Baby's Gotten Good At Goodbye" to "Love Without End, Amen." They'll also spin a lot of other great classics, like Mark's "I'll Think of Something" which I mentioned above. We have three stations here in Austin, two of which spin the traditional music while the latter spins the current top 20 format over and over.

Just turrned on KVET (98.1) seconds ago, and the first tune I heard was the flawless 'Living And Living Well'; I like this station already!!!!
One positioning statement which a lot of country stations out there use or have used over the years is 'George Strait every hour; I don't know if this is one of them.

It's hard to believe but as of this week, it marks 5 years since George Strait last topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart with "River Of Love" which was this week's #1 Country Song five years ago this week back in April 2009. It would become his 44th Billboard and last number one to date on that chart. I realize this post may seem unnecessary but thought I would point out it's been 5 years now as of this week.

What an awful song to end his Billboard streak on. Sorry for those who like it but it's the only George Strait song I ever turned the station when it came on the radio.

I love George but I really don't think much of this song and I cannot blame radio for not playing it - this sound, and George's sound in general, does not fit in with radio in 2014. I'd be surprised if he ever has another solo top ten hit.

Not taking a shot at you or anything, but when the current state of Country radio has people thinking George Strait may not ever have another top ten, that's when you know things are all kinds of wrong.

I echo Kentucky25's thoughts: if the country music of today is so far removed from George Strait, then you know the format has lost its way. It's not even really country anymore. Some songs, sure, but most songs are far more rooted in the pop/rock genres than they are in country music.

My oh my how did it all go so wrong? George hasn't changed, and that's why Strait is the King of Country.

Depressing as all get out to read about George not being relevant on todays radio, but on the bright side, Call Out American this week does not know that yet.. So improvement.

I have to say. I do like my fair share of country-rock and country-pop, just not when flat-out country is pushed to the side because of them. I just want a balance. Like 1/3 a piece would be fine with me. That way there's a mixture of sounds and styles on country radio and it'd create and overall better genre imo. The way it's going now is too far away from the roots. Anymore most artists either throw country lyrics in a pop/rock sound or record pure country songs to keep on their albums so they'll get some iTunes buys from people like me.
Thomas Rhett is a good case of this, Beer With Jesus is pure country in it's sound and story, but the rest of his album is pop and rock.
I fear that with guys like Joe Nichols moving some of their music towards the pop/rock side of country, they'll be very few country purists when King George decides to hang up his cowboy hat.

-66 spins in today's Mediabase update. I must say I agree with others before me that say this is like torture watching "I Got A Car's" chart run. In fact outside of my family, friends, job and favorite sports teams, this might be the most important thing to me in the past 6 months of my life. Perhaps I'm being too dramatic saying something that strong.

I was bored and decided to browse through twitter. Did you know that George Strait only has 148,902 followers. That's kinda surprising to me. I figured he would have at least half a million since he's an "icon" in the music industry. Even Toby Keith has 700,000 + followers. It's probably fair to mention a good majority of Strait's fans don't have a Twitter and he really has never promoted that he has it that much. I found out he had it because another country singer I follow tagged him in a tweet. Nonetheless, I agree, that's a much lower number than I'd expect him to have.

George...a social media presence? That's not really who he is. I'm not surprised that the number is low. He doesn't tweet much and most of his FB announcements are about touring and things like that. He doesn't do much with the online world...no music videos. He keeps it pretty simple. -66 spins in today's Mediabase update. Well, he 'only' lost 38 spins...the bullet fell to -66. I think it's because he had a pretty big spin gain last week Tuesday and that's no longer in the rolling totals as of today's update. I remembered the song gaining 55 spins last week Tuesday which was of course only a few days after the ACM's. Good thing is that IGAC still managed to gain 116k in audience today. I'm more worried about the Worsham song. Charlie's bullet recovered, going from -44 yesterday to +47 today, but the song still lost a little more than 100k in audience. George and Charlie have my 2 favorite songs out right now, and it's been painful watching their painstakingly slow climbs toward the top 30.

Nice little sales boost for Love Is Everything. The #11 selling CD with 411,000 sold. I definitely expect a gold plaque for George Strait this summer. I am kind of at a point where I just don't like these little daily teases anymore. This has had a nice gain these past two days, up to over 10.3 today. I can only guess MCA is trying to get this into the top 30 before moving on.

This is officially up 1M in audience for the week, from 9.6 to 10.6. Still can't believe we're at a point where we just want to see this song peak inside the top 30.

Yes, some good gains, up more than 300k on yesterday morning's update, and nearly 400k on today's. I think this can make the MB top 30 the week after this coming week, as long as it keeps gaining, losing 2 positions to Blake 2 and Dustin but gaining 4 positions from Blake 1, Dan + Shay, Tim, and maybe Sheryl. It will be his best chance, anyway.
And as for top 30 at Billboard, depends on whether they pull Dan++ and what the audience moves for Sheryl, Blake, and Dustin looked like. It's getting harder to predict BB by using the MB numbers.
But yes, it could be top 30 on either or both charts, or on neither one, and the whole idea of begging for a top 30 appearance is strange and pathetic. But I keep on doing it.

George Strait has nearly every other record, I say we ride this thing to #1 in about 70 weeks :)

I saw in the Thursday update that IGAC is #2 in listener feedback (looks like it is sorted by Positive %). Some things just don't make sense.

Three songs (Blake/Tim/Dan & Shay) will go recurrent next Sunday afternoon, but will that allow King George to finally crack the top 30?
Is it too early for EVERBODY to start crossing their fingers and/or biting their nails?
