2nd single from Cher's new album "Closer to the Truth." The song got 2 AC adds this week.

According to BDSRadio's AC Most Added, Cher picks up WHUD-FM, WLDB-FM & WRSA-FM (11/2) bringing her total to date to 5 stations. With such a great song, I hope adds continue to happen.

It's No. 38 on Mediabase's rolling AC chart, with 58 spins and an audience of 0.042m. As you can see by the audience, out of those 58 spins, 24 come from an XM station, so no measured audience. Another station, in Idaho, has played it 12 times in the past week. So that's 36 of the 58 spins from two stations.
It's a good track, and she delivers it in classic Cher style, but too many obstacles to overcome to become a U.S. hit.

Plus, it's going to get lost in the onslought of Holiday music on AC radio in the next two months.

I don't believe that will be the case. She's scheduled to perform on "Dancing With The Stars", which should push the song into the Top 30 AC. She's on just 1 U.S. chart, and although unofficial, it almost mirrors the Top 100. She makes a huge jump from 56* - 82 with the single. But time will tell. She keeps getting adds. www.tophitsonline.com/currentchart.htm

I really wish AC radio was like it used to be. where people like Cher could get an actual hit on that format. I miss the old AC days

I so totally agree, Spoonabdul3. Once it was for all artists, mostly 40 and older. Now, everyone gets on that chart and many are in the 20's - 30's, as if they don't have enough charts to get on. Consequently, they bump off the older artist. Only the male's with a big name can chart there and they barely get by. I hope the DJ's know that one day soon they will be given the boot because they are over 50 and too old to be COOL. Trouble is, only Cher has the balls to be releasing music at over 50 in the female category. Last time a woman over 50 released anything was Stevie Nicks. Love her, but didn't like her album. I think women are really intimidated by this barrier and I really admire Cher for her tenacity and gumption in not giving up. You'd think women in general would feel the same way but surprise - many don't. There's a big J involved here, lol.

r96, mirrors what, the Hot 100? "I Hope You Find It" isn't anywhere near the Hot 100, so it's way off in that regard. DWTS only has so much impact, compared to other shows; perhaps it will have more of an impact on album sales, though/
U.S. radio just ain't gonna get heavy with a song by a 67 year-old- which kinda sucks. In the UK, it's top 20 on the airplay chart- but UK radio isn't nearly as ageist as U.S. radio.
Would be nice if AC would revert to what it once was, but it's become more of a place for pop/Hot AC hits that have peaked (at least in terms of tracks in heavy rotation).

I initially thought it was syndicated-radio play, but it showed up on the AC top 50 a few days back- and gains more today.

I love this song. Closer to the Truth is a pretty solid album, but this track is my favorite one (outside of the 7th Heaven remix of Take It Like a Man).

Cher is like the little engin that could. She hooked up with Sonny Bono in 1962 and began recording in 1963. 1963 and 1964 were the years they struggled but hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1965. Cher has been on the Billboard Hot 100/Bubbling Under Charts starting in 1964 up until Woman's World was on Billboard's Bubbling Under chart in 2013. I mean to have a span from 1964-2013 is amazing. I Hope You Find It has been kicking around since Sept/Oct 2013. We all know there is rampant AGEISM in US Radio so adds were slow. The sad thing is over at Adult Contemporary Radio not only is Ageism a factor but SEXISM is as well. Older MALE artists are added at AC Radio all the time. Older females are NOT. CHER will be 68 in May and her song finally is on the Billboard AC Chart. I wish Cher would sent I Hope You Find It to Country radio since Country radio is not AGEIST and plays songs that are good. I am kind of shocked Cher broke into the AC Chart and am happy for her. Older female artists are treated like crap on US radio and nobody says anything about it. The AC chart used to be a place for older artists but now it is messed up and full of the same songs we see on all the other charts. Sorry about the rambling but I really am happy to see an old gal with a 50+ year career getting a little airplay! :)) :))

Billboard AC Chart- 3/15/14 No. 24*, 110 spins (+92)- 0.433m audience
Oddly, it's not listed among BDS' most-added at AC *it lists those with five or more adds).

I wish Cher would sent I Hope You Find It to Country radio since Country radio is not AGEIST and plays songs that are good. This is definitely untrue. Country radio phases out artists due to their age the very same way, and is also pretty sexist against female artists (especially in the last few years). Dolly Parton, for example, stopped getting hits on country radio in the mid 90s when she was (only) in her mid 40s. But regardless, I doubt that they'd even touch the song on the basis that Cher sings it tbqh.

Wow thanks for the post about country. I always thought Country played older gals. I know they used to but as you pointed out times have changed. What a shame! We KNOW Pop will not play an older FEMALE artist and it is sad. I am so glad CHER does not give a crap and is trying. Its funny how she is getting these adds and of course turns 68 in May. For a gal who began recording in 1963 to get any radio adds in 2014 is amazing. Once again thanks for setting the record straight about country radio. Maybe WBR will try to get I Hope You Find It on at Country!

She's in the rare few that radio (whether Hot AC / Triple A / or Country) doesn't mind playing.

I love Sheryl Crow. Sheryl was born in 1962 about the time Cher began her career so last year Sheryl was 51. I hope radio plays Sheryl Crow as she ages through her 50s and 60s. It saddens me to see how hard it is for women to age in music. Cher had her huge #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Believe at age 53, then had success with Song for the Lonely at age 57 and Bubbled Under in 2013 with Woman's World at age 67. Adult Contemporary used to be for older artists but now mirrors most of the Billboard Hot 100 with the same younger acts we see on all the other charts.
