Given the current state of the format, I'm not surprised, but the lyrics remain juvenile.

I just did a Rate The Music survey for Thomas...wow, am I glad I never even tried to listen to his album when it came out. The RTM survey had every song on his debut album on it, including the 4 already-released singles (Something To Do With My Hands, Beer With Jesus, It Goes Like This, and Get Me Some Of That) which I thought was odd. I'm not sure why the label would be requesting feedback on those songs anymore. Anyway...there are some absolutely terrible songs on his album. Unfortunately I can see a few of them doing well, given the success of IGLT and the current single, as well as the current state of 'country' radio. "Make Me Wanna" and "All-American Middle Class White Boy" were the only two that were halfway decent but they aren't exactly songs I'll be going out of my way to listen to.

Just did the survey myself. That was REALLY painful. I still to this day wonder how someone can record a wonderful song such as "Beer with Jesus" and then turn around and record demeaning trash such as "Get Me Some of That" (not that I have an opinion about that song or anything. ;) ) The were some real doozies on the rest of the album for the lack of a better word.

I would like to see either "Make Me Wanna" or "Take You Home." Neither is an incredible masterpiece, but they're catchy enough for me.

While we're on the topic, I say "Call Me Up". It's been stuck in my head for the last couple days.

I would be surprised if Valory were to release a fifth single from It Goes Like This. Thomas Rhett already has four top 20 hits from his debut to his credit.

^They must be at least seriously considering a fifth single if they sent out a special music survey. Plus, Thomas' album came out at the end of the third single's chart run so this is really like the second single, which has had a relatively fast climb for a new artist. I think they'll definitely release a new single.

You may see it as the 5th single, I may see it as the 5th single, the label may even see it as the 5th single but since MOST fans didn't even know either of those songs were singles, look for them to go for the 5th single and maybe even a 6th single from the album.

The album came out last fall. There will definitely be another single from this album, maybe two.

Looking at Valory's past, no one has released a fifth single from a CD. In alphabetical order:
1. Brantley Gilbert-4 from Halfway To Heaven. Sure, Valory took over when the CD was reissued from Average Joe's to Valory. Two previous singles were released (while he was on Average Joe's, but failed to chart). 2. Reba McEntire-3 from Keep On Loving You and 4 from All The Women I Am. 3. Justin Moore-4 from Justin Moore and 3 from Outlaws Like Me. He should release one more from Off The Beaten Path. 4. Jimmy Wayne-3 from Do You Believe Me Now. I know he is a former artist on the label.

This is a valid point and it's an interesting trend, but the number of singles isn't as relevant as the amount of time the album has been out. All these examples you provided were albums that were released when the first single was on the charts. Thomas' record just came out last fall, when the third single was already peaking, so GMSOT is, as rsmatto said, really like the second single from the record (to most listeners, who've probably forgotten about the first two). I would be shocked if they didn't release a fifth single and I wouldn't be surprised to see a sixth.

Here we go. Thomas Rhett's debut CD, It Goes Like This is sitting at #25 this week on the country albums chart (the same chart where Dan + Shay are tops with their 29,000 sold). By the time we get to the #25 CD, how many copies do you think is selling? Rhett only has one platinum single (out of four) to his credit and that is the title track, ironically his first #1. I really do not think that releasing a fifth single will improve his situation much. Sure, it may buy him some time to get a follow up ready, but it is time for Valory to stop releasing singles from this CD. Get the next one out late this year and maybe he will sing the lead single at the C.M.A.s.

Get the next one out late this year and maybe he will sing the lead single at the C.M.A.s. They'll release another single. They're not really trying to push the needle on the album and while they'd love a boatload of sales for it, they're getting traction at radio and digital single sales so there's room for another single (or two). "Call Me Up," "In A Minute" and "Makes Me Wanna" are definitely contenders. I think "All American Middle Class White Boy" may be too polarizing to release as a single and he's already had one of those ("Beer With Jesus"). Also, remember, as I stated above, the average fans aren't familiar with "Beer With Jesus" or "Something To Do With My Hands," certainly not the way chart followers and more active listeners may be. So while they kept his label interested, it's not different than Brett Elredge's label maybe dropping a single after "One Mississippi" (which I fully expect to be the next single and has ALREADY hit the Top 100 downloaded songs so it seems that fans like that ballad and so do folks at radio). My point being, even though "Raymond" is on Brett's album (which is barely selling), they're not punting the rest of the potential hits from the album just to move on to another era, particularly when there are CLEARLY singles left on the album.

^You're right on the Brett Eldrdge situation. His CD is NOT in the top 25 and he has one gold single for Don't Ya (his first #1). This was even after he opened for Taylor Swift. You would think he would be doing gangbusters at this point. I just want to say is that I am leaving the door opened an inch for a fifth single from the Thomas Rhett CD.

^The TR label made me chuckle but the Dan/Shay and Colt Ford ones seemed pretty rude. I guess that's just considered acceptable, "all-in-good-fun" humor these days but I don't see the need to poke fun at a new duo as harmless as Dan and Shay, and "The High Life" is hardly a song that I'd think only people too dumb to even read would buy. It's a boring track, but there's not one offensive lyric in there as far as I can remember. Oh well. No big deal I guess. I'm probably being too sensitive. :)
I'm not sure when BMLG hopes for this song to get to #1 but now it's gaining quickly on Eric Church. GMSOT even received more points than Hometown yesterday according to Country Aircheck Daily. Church will probably do a final push this week and peak at #2 on both charts, and then Thomas will be next in line for the top spot, but he has about 800 spins to gain on Mediabase before he catches up to Brantley, so I'm seeing a long reign for "Bottoms Up" at the top.

I don't see Eric missing out on #1. I think he'll get there on MB at the very least but possibly BB as well. I guess I just don't see any long reigns for Brantley, or any of the other current top 10 hits for that matter. BMLG really doesn't have to worry too much about Thomas, FGL, or RF. Miranda isn't a threat and Luke probably won't catch them either. I'd imagine that Thomas can sneak in a week at #1, and maybe 1 for each of the other BMLG artists as well, although I could see RF having to settle for a peak in the 2-5 range.

I can almost feel everyone's excitement about this now trending at #1 for the week. In all seriousness, I can't wait to not hear this as much as I am now. I almost cringe at the thought that a song like this is going down in the history books of country music as being a number one record. What a farce.

Officially #1 on Mediabase! Also #1 on Billboard, with "This Is How We Roll" sitting right behind it. I can't remember the last time we had worse songs at #1 and #2.

I'm a little surprised we haven't gotten a new single announcement yet. I think we will be getting one very soon. My vote is for Make Me Wanna, but Call Me Up and Take Me Home would probably do well on radio as well.

The lyrics are pretty cliche but I adore the melody.

That being said, I expect them to focus on another track from the album.

That would be outstanding. I've been listening to Make Me Wanna for two years and would love for everyone else to hear it.
