New record comes out in January. The PD at KRBZ tweeted about hearing the song earlier this week. So the label is definitely letting other stations listen to it. Should be out within a couple weeks, I would think.

So ready for this. (For the record, a Billboard interview with Columbia confirmed they pushed the album from November to Q1 2014 so it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle.)

About time. I wonder if the new album will have any tracks like "Ruby" (a newer song that leaked a couple years ago), which was much slower than anything on Torches. Either way, the fact that they've spent 3 years on this album makes me optimistic that it won't disappoint.

Either way, the fact that they've spent 3 years on this album makes me optimistic that it won't disappoint. My only slight worry is that they go the Neon Trees route. There were plenty of similarities, as they were 2 of the first bands of the indie wave to get their huge crossover hits, and Neon Trees followed up with a much poppier album that was alright, but nowhere near as good as their debut. I'd like FTP to remain committed to alternative, and I don't want this lead single to be a new "Everybody Talks"

They will never top the "Pumped Up Kicks-Helena Beat" one-two punch, but I'm still optimistic about hearing this.

In regards to the earlier link, that usually means "bad".

In regards to the earlier link, that usually means "bad". As long as it's not MGMT bad it's all good. "bad" is an both inaccurate and an understatement when you're talking about "Flash Delirium." The correct terminology is "too hipster to accept their mainstream success and their huge fanbase, so they intentionally made crappier music so people wouldn't like them as much."

I personally wish they would have released "Helena Beat" first instead of "Pumped Up Kicks". It probably wouldn't have been as a big of a hit, but at least it's a much better song.

I never understood the fuss for "Helena Beat." I thought it was one of the worst songs on the album, and definitely the worst of the singles. For me the 4 singles and the order would've been: 1. Call It What You Want 2. Pumped Up Kicks 3. I Would Do Anything For You 4. Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)

"Helena Beat" is the song that roped me in as a fan. Incredible song in every aspect.
For me "Don't Stop" is the single that I find overrated. I like it; it's not special though. I usually skipped it when listening to the album.

Still can't believe "Call It What You Want" never got released. I would've released that instead of "Don't Stop".

"Helena Beat" and "Don't Stop" are both amazing in all aspects, although the former is just flawless. IMO, "Houdini" is the single that should have not been released.

I would have thought it had I mean, I always thought the former was sent to Alternative, while "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)" was on CHR/Pop.

"Houdini" is my favorite of the singles and I wish it had done better, though I guess you can't expect much from a new band's fourth single. I loved all of the singles though. My favorite non-single would be "Waste", but the whole album is solid, really. Which is more than I can say for MGMT's debut. So while that article about the new album did admittedly bring the MGMT situation to mind, I have more faith in Foster The People.

Mediabase just updated to add the title "Coming Of Age" to the band's list of titles - probably a good sign that it's the upcoming single. Live performance from this summer:
ETA: This pretty much confirms it.

Definitely liking this based on the live performance, and it doesn't seem like the studio version will be drastically different based on the second clip. This should have no problem hitting the top 5 at the very least, and could very well go #1. They've definitely avoided going the MGMT route, at least as far as the first single is concerned.
