This is a Highway Find on XM. I heard it the other day. I do agree it's better than "If You Want Some" but his voice does absolutely nothing for me... not quite as bad as the FGL boys' voices, but it's up there.

^ I actually don't mind his voice to be quite honest with you. Though I can see how people wouldn't be a fan of his voice. The studio version of the chorus is what originally got me. This would have been the lead single if it was up to me, but "If You Want Some" was a summer type of song so I get why they went with that.

This song and the other songs I've heard from Joel are fantastic and more "retro" than many other tunes.

I heard a host on Sirius/XM say something I never really thought of, but kind of agree with now. The chorus of this song seems taylor made for Garth Brooks to sing. Maybe a cross between "Wrapped Up In You" and "Standing Outside The Fire" (In terms of melody and production).
This has started to get played in medium rotation on Long Island (WJVC). Granite, a station known for a pretty liberal playlist for singles further down the chart. I hope Joel will continue to impress me with "Why God Made Love Songs", "Oh Juliet", and others I have heard in concert I like, further down the road.

This one has had a few adds trickle in each week for the last couple of weeks now, and a total of 15 stations have added it, but it doesn't appear that SDU has set an actual adds date yet. I am sure they will soon, though--probably just waiting a little bit, since all of the Mondays in January as well as February 3 are/were pretty packed.

This song, somehow, slipped under my radar. I randomly heard this on the radio yesterday and had no clue who it was. I love it!! This is light years ahead of that obnoxious song where he says "EPIC!" like three times.

Lol, Show Dog let this go recurrent tonight without ever giving it an adds date. It spent all 10 of its chart weeks in the 50's, only getting as high as #53.
I suppose, if the label still wants to stick with this as the single, they could give it an adds date and then Billboard would likely allow it to re-enter, but man, SDU is really, really struggling.

What do you think the future holds for Toby's label? It seems to be getting worse, not better as time goes on here. Shame that this has done so poorly. I was one of the precious few who didn't mind "If You Want Some", but this was certainly better. At least WYRK played the heck out of it, but that's probably because he was at their acoustic show last fall and will be at the station's big concert of the year this summer.
