Took them long enough, but apparently Disclosure is finally getting a US single, with Sam Smith-featuring "Latch" headed to radio in January, per FMQB.

This gives me the same vibes Leona Lewis' "Forgive Me" gave me. I see this growing on me a lot and becoming a decent hit.

Awesome!!! This is probably the best single to introduce them....as much as I love F For You, not sure that one would do as well

I liked them last year, but I got kind of bored with them once they put out their album. This one's alright; I prefer "White Noise" and "You & Me," but this has a better shot at US success.

Awesome!!! This is probably the best single to introduce them....as much as I love F For You, not sure that one would do as well You're right. I think it was between this or "White Noise" to be promoted first in the US. Regarding "F for You", I still don't know. I mean, it could go either way; it depends on how "Latch" will do on radio. If it becomes a hit or a moderate one, Cherrytree/Interscope could send "White Noise" or "You & Me" next or they could go with "F for You" instead, to make the audience to know that they also sing and produce their tracks (something like Ultra did almost two years ago with Calvin Harris). Also, at this point, I don't think there would be more tracks from Settle to be released as singles overseas, so this could act as a warm up to the US audience for their next album if there's one planned for sometime next year.

LOL, what? I'd have been ecstatic at this news a year ago; now I've grown quite accustomed to "Latch" as one of those songs that I adore but my friends (in the US) aren't meant to know. I'd hate for it to suffer a fate of overexposure but the head honchos at Clear Channel don't exactly have taste on this superior level so that's probably nothing to worry about anyway.

I don't think this will do much in the US. I feel nostalgic whenever I listen to this song. This time last year it was everywhere where I live.
White Noise is the most commercial single of theirs, and is their only song that has a chance at even going top 50 on pop imo. In clubs I often hear it mixed into The Way I Are, which made me realize the songs are sort of similar, and The Way I Are was huge back in the day, so who knows?
I don't think this sounds like Leona's Forgive Me at all. Forgive Me was a clone of The Sweet Escape by Gwen imo.

I didn't say it sounded like "Forgive Me," I said it gave me the same vibes, as in the throwback dance/r&b vibe. Also, "The Sweet Escape" and "Forgive Me" were both produced by Akon around the same time.
This is $0.69 on iTunes right now.

Remix = blah. It's got less personality than the original version, but it's still hot and more importantly can accomplish what it's intended to: draw in a new audience.

While I still love the original, I am warming up to the DJ Premier remix - it's something you can jam to during the winter

Nice! I didn't see this coming. If alternative really was oh so open-minded towards electronic music they should be spinning this one instead of that awful Avici song.

This is great news, but I was looking at the airplay chart and White Noise currently has quite a lot of spins. Maybe that would be a better choice. The song did better in the charts here too. LOL, what? I'd have been ecstatic at this news a year ago; now I've grown quite accustomed to "Latch" as one of those songs that I adore but my friends (in the US) aren't meant to know. I think a lot of people share that mentality tbh. Late 2012 I used to hear everybody talking about Disclosure, because of Running Remix, etc. and then Latch did really well (despite the biggest pop station in the UK, Capital FM, refusing to play the song because it's not loud enough like those Flo Rida songs...). But around the time White Noise came out the hype seemed to die down a lot. OMG YES. But they need the craziness of 'When a Fire Starts To Burn' for a single soon They've been very bad with their single choices tbh. The first three were fine, but Confess to Me and When a Fire Stars to Burn are definitely the most popular album tracks, but they haven't released them. Confess to Me I used to hear loads on Rinse FM (an urban station in the UK) after the album release, yet they chose F For You as a single for some reason. When a Fire Starts to Burn I hear so much at parties and clubs, and it's also the most listened to song from their album on UK Spotify! Their post-album singles choices have really annoyed me (not that I don't like the songs, but they could have gotten more top 10 hits). Nice! I didn't see this coming. If alternative really was oh so open-minded towards electronic music they should be spinning this one instead of that awful Avici song. I don't see why Disclosure would get played on alternative tbh. I can understand Get Lucky and Wake Me Up since they have guitars in. If they were to make it big in the US I think they would get played a lot on pop, rhythmic, and maybe urban and HAC.

As Kurt mentioned before, Disclosure made their US TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday. Watch their performance of "Latch" with Sam Smith here.

As Kurt mentioned before, Disclosure made their US TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday. Watch their performance of "Latch" with Sam Smith here. They absolutely killed that performance and Sam's vocals were on point (which is pretty much a given for him). [also I won't lie posting this to fill up last post wasteland]
