This is a list of every song I could think of that could get nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Song. Which song do you think has the best shot of winning?
"Almost Home" I don't think has a shot because it's played during the very last minute of the credits. :(

Either 'Young and Beautiful' or 'Almost Is Never Enough' would be nice.

Is "Young & Beautiful" actually eligible? Did she write it specifically for the movie, or was it in her catalog and used it for the movie? I remember reading a quote saying she didn't want to give it up at first because she thought it was the best thing she'd written, which to me implied she had already written it (and, therefore, would make it ineligible for an Oscar), but maybe she just meant that upon writing it for the movie, she thought it was too good to give up?
If that's eligible, it should win.

In order to be eligible, a song would have to be originally written for the film and be the first piece of music when the credits start. Stupid rule. So that makes a lot of these songs ineligible.

Actually, I THINK Come What May was eligible (because these current rules went into effect 4-5 years ago) but just was left out of the nominations. I was younger and didn't pay too much attention then, but I think it was eligible for a nomination. And, come on, it should've won.

It was written for Romeo & Juliet and therefore ineligible. Ridic.

In order to be eligible, a song would have to be originally written for the film and be the first piece of music when the credits start. Stupid rule. So that makes a lot of these songs ineligible. It has to either be played during the film or at the start of the credits. So "Young and Beautiful" should be eligible, but the second song in any film's credits, or a song that appears only on the soundtrack (most of the Catching Fire soundtrack, then), is ineligible. This article the best we have so far for predictions: www.indiewire.com/article/2014-oscar-predictions-best-original-song

In which case, the poll should be redone.
