Do you think that One Direction and Carrie Underwood's new single will be able to crackt his year's year-end?
Surely "Story of My Life" by One Direction will position within the top 30. As for "Something in the Water" by Underwood, it will not enter this chart unless it pulls off big numbers to break into the current Hot 100 top 10. This prediction is due on 7 weeks and SIIW is not even released yet in the US.

Oh okay, and actually, when I say One Direction, it refers to their new single, "Steal My Girl" but looks like unless it could debut at number one, it won't stand a chance

I think Pompeii will end up at number 13-15, considering Rude, Stay WIth Me, Am I Wrong, All About That Bass and possibly Shake It Off will surpass it. It's a shame that it couldn't end up in the top 10. I really wish that it could have a shot in Decade-End Chart. Btw, did anyone here have any prediction or have a source that know about how the Decade-End Chart currently is like? I know this is still very early, with 5 more years that could bring a lot of changes left, but I can't help but wonder. (I think the Decade-End Chart will use inverse point, considering that the rules had already been changed twice at 2012 (On-Demand inclusion), and 2013 (Youtube inclusion), and who know if there will be more change.)
Post by Daniel Collins on Oct 6, 2014 7:49:02 GMT -5
Future Captain I also have a decade-end predictions unlike the year-end predictions , I used inverse point system in this one. I also gave extra points for songs before the streaming inclusion (Mar.2012)

To answer tucomrang's question: "Really Don't Care" climbs 103-101 now that the song is at #93 on the Hot 100 on its 18th week (1 week is counted in 2013 so only 17 for 2014).
His question is whether "Talk Dirty" would stay at #6 or some song might beat it.
^"Rude" is the closest but it needs 93k+ points to do that but we only have 6 weeks left and "Rude" might just get 70k points max so I think the top 6 is now fixed. The only thing that could happen is the switch between "Fancy" and "Counting Stars".
do you guys think Animals by Maroon 5 and Really Don't Care by Demi have a chance to crack the year-end chart this year?
"Animals" will make it because is in its 7th week on the Hot 100 and is now in the Top 10 with no chance of slowing down, and with 5 weeks left, I think is a given. For "Really Don't Care" however, is a whole different story. The only way that song makes it is if it charts the full 20 weeks and no less. A #26 peak is less than inspiring, so unless it charts the entire 20 weeks, it won't make the cut, and right now it seems unlikely given that is currently at #93 in its 18th week and is been dropping significantly, so is not looking good for that song.
Will All About That Bass make it to the top 10? 6 weeks for 200K+ points
[Jarhys' Hot 5 : 2018 Week #3 1/20] #1 | Believer - Imagine Dragons (#1: 1 week) #2 | Silence - Marshmello ft. Khalid (#1: 1 week) #3 | End Game - Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran & Future (#1: 2 weeks) #4 | I'll Make It Up To You - Imagine Dragons (#1: 1 week, Re-enter) #5 | Start Over - Imagine Dragons (Debut)
Wow that's a big gap between 2 and 3 this week! I guess Black Widow and Bang Bang might not ever reach higher than their #3 peak then :( And Radioactive won't make top 50 I guess :( And if Fancy will be still on the chart for two more weeks after CS then it will pass it for sure. And I doubt that AATB will get top ten tbh. At this point the songs start crashing and it needs 40k average weekly points over the next 6 weeks which probably won't happen but I guess it is possible. I just don't feel like it will hold up that long

My prediction for week 52: Top 6 seems on lock. 1. Happy 2. Dark Horse 3. All Of Me 4. Fancy 5. Counting Stars 6. Talk Dirty 7-8 Rude vs. Problem , for now I'll go for Rude(7) and Problem(8) 9-10 "Timber" vs. "Pompeii" vs. "Stay With Me" vs. "All About That Bass" For now I'll go for "Timber" at #9 and "Stay With Me" at #10, AATB(11) Pompeii(12)
Post by Future Captain on Oct 12, 2014 7:03:58 GMT -5
I think, once AATB and SIO reach top 20 in the Year-End, there will be no other songs that would enter the top 20. This is how I think top 20 Year-End is going to be: 1. Happy 2. Dark Horse 3. All of Me 4. Fancy 5. Counting Stars (Ironic echo, anyone?) 6. Talk Dirty 7. Rude 8. Problem 9. Stay With Me 10. AATB 11. Timber 12. Pompeii 13. TDFW 14. Am I Wrong 15. The Monster 16. Shake It Off 17. Say Something 18. Team 19. Let Her Go 20. Let It Go (Basically, Let ... Go in a stack) Kudos for anyone who get why Counting Stars position is an ironic echo
Kudos for anyone who get why Counting Stars position [#5] is an ironic echo
Easy, and it extends to more than the position! Both had their first year-end in the 60s (#66 for Apologize and #63 for Counting Stars), both end up with the majority of their 25 top 10 weeks in the second year (both reaching #2 peaks as well), and ending up at #5 on the year-end of their second appearance.

The last movement in the top 5 would happen next week as "Fancy"is going to beat "Counting Stars". As of now, I'm still not sure if "All About That Bass" would make the top 10. We'll only have 5 weeks after this so , we are getting nearer the final year-end.

^Noticed it before you commented but still ,thanks. I like it better when it is noticed immediately.
No, it doesn't affect the points. The formatting is the only one that depends on the position on Hot 100 and that's just the column that I haven't updated.

By the way, I must thank you so much for doing this chart. I'm a stepmaker, and I've been using your chart as a reference for what songs to step and safely put up for claims for a massive collaboration project that eventually will step all 100 year-end tracks. A YouTube chartmaker I correspond with is also aware of this thread, as he released a top 100 for now video around the end of September!
I agree with rimetm. I'm a mashup artist and this chart has been really beneficial on choosing which songs I should include on my year-end mix. Kudos Daniel!

I must now accept the reality that CS won't be higher than Fancy :'( :'( :'( I'm also thinking Rude won't pass Problem at this rate.... could still happen but I'm not sure. Rude will definitely pass Timber for sure though
I wasn't aware that this is helping both of you in some way. Post your final projects in here if you like or you could just pm me :)
Mr. Thonk Eyes There's still a chance for "Rude" to beat "Problem". Don't lose hope. "Problem" is in the #40 and I don't think it could stay for the next 5 weeks and "Rude" would still be in the 21-30 range once the year is over.
I honestly don't think either "Drink A Beer" or "Give Me Back My Hometown" will make the official list, because neither song had an impressive chart run. I think GMBMH won't be there because it spent most of its time in the 40's and 50's, and that really won't get you on the year end list, and "Drink A Beer" charted less than 20 weeks. If it had charted the full 20, it'd be there, but a song that peaked at 31 with 18 weeks, that's not going to get it done. I actually think "All About That Bass" has a good chance at making the Top 10 in the official list, given how much it's sold and everything, it could do what "Roar" did last year, make the year end Top 10 despite being released late in the summer. I think "Rude" will be above "Problem" in the official list simply because it was #1, and "Timber" won't make the Top 10. And I think "Bang Bang", "Black Widow", and "Anaconda" will be in the Top 20 on the official list since they've been in the Top 10 for a while. And there's a strong possibility that either "Jealous" or "I'm Not The Only One" might make a late run to make the official list, if one or both of those songs reach the Top 10 by the end of the year, they might enter the list because they'll finish the year with double-digit weeks, and for being in the Top 10, that's big. But anyways, I like your predictions and your lists, and these are just based on numbers you do, and is just fun to guess. I always look forward to these, It'll be interesting to seeing how it looks in 5 weeks.

Lmao that picture though! What song is that from anyway? (I've been wondering for some time now)

That's the title lol, Thank You by MKTO. Good song, but still prefer Classic.
