^Yeah, remember while are serious about following the charts and talking about music here, if it weren't something enjoyable to some extent we wouldn't be coming back to it. I personally have been writing a weekly recap of my observations of the Billboard chart for some time and some weeks it does feel like a chore that takes me about 2 hours each week. But after somebody comments about something I pointed out, it's well worth my trouble.

Year-End Hot 100 2018 Predictions - Week 7, dated 01/06/2018 Here's the week 7 for 2018, Thunder is now a lock for the YE. I stopped at #66, because I'm doing them like last year. Also I find going to 100 is pretty pointless right now because most of the lower half are album tracks, christmas songs and songs with only 3 weeks on the Hot 100 and doing the math seems worthless, songs with significant gains below #66 will be highlighted. 42,500 are the points a song needs in order to enter the Top 100 right now, anyways that's all, enjoy!

Let's say "Havana" does not quite make it to #1. In that case, I think it is quite possible for it to pull a "Breathe" or "Hanging By A Moment" and finish at #1 on the year-end. That'll require a lot of longevity from the album effect, though. It'd be cool to see that happen for the first time since 2001. This would have been a lot more likely if the song had been released a couple months later. However, I do prefer for it to actually peak at #1. EDIT: Shit, I just realized that, even if it does have the longevity, the 52-week cutoff could prevent it from making it, since it'll be done in August. Damn it! :(

Havana will probably have enough points to pass Rockstar as it's a lot stronger right now, but I don't see it passing Perfect even if it gets #1.

1-800-273-8255? More like 8-13-14-18-22-34-34-33-44 jesus christ that is seriously the worst performance for a song that started in the top 10 since like 15 years ago
In fact there's actually a chance that both that and Mi Gente miss which would be the first time since 2005 when two of the songs that started in the top 10 missed and that was a fluke, both of them should have made it it's just that the 2005 chart year was completely broken due to formula changes. If we don't count that then it would be the first time since 2003

Going off of this, I believe those were "Goodies" by Ciara, which was high on the 2004 year-end Hot 100, and "Let's Go (2004)" by some guy named Trick Daddy.

^ yeah that's right Here's Goodies chart run which UNQUESTIONABLY should have made it, it should have been like in the 70's
10-12-15-16-20-21-19-26-30-35-37-41-47-50-50
And here's Let's Go which would have been close but should have still made it, 11 weeks with 3 in the top 10 and 7 in the top 20 seems like enough and is definitely stronger than things like Waves, Sweet Dreams (2010), and Please Don't Go when they made year-end

How would perfect be listed in the year end list? Will it say (duet with Beyoncé) or just Ed Sheeran or will it say duet with Beyoncé/single with Ed Sheeran because the duet and the single both were number 1. lol I’m being far out there but it’ll probably just say duet with Beyoncé huh?

I hope "rockstar" can finish in the top ten. ^It probably needs some decent longevity. For comparison, Black Beatles started the 2017 Year-End Hot 100 seemingly better than rockstar did, but ended up #19 in spite of being 6 weeks at #1, due to only 18 weeks charted that counted toward that chart. That said, rockstar streaming seems more solid than Black Beatles' since it isn't powered by a meme or challenge, because it's largely a result of its success at Spotify and it has managed to do get better peak radio audience than the latter. It isn't a done deal, but likely at this point.
