The thing is though is that was just cause of an album bomb. Most of Close Friends chart run has been in the bottom part of the chart.

- Old Town Road¹ (77,800 points): first song with five weeks of 75k (or more) points since Hello; - Old Town Road³ (2.634 lead over If I Can't Have You): fourth song in Hot 100's history with at least a 2:1 points lead in four or more weeks (others: I Will Always Love You, Candle In The Wind 1997, Harlem Shake); - If I Can't Have You (29,500 points): if this is its peak in points, it'll become the first song in the Streaming Era to peak at #2 and never reach 30k points in a single week;

Wassup everyone! Below is a line graph that has tracked all 35 top 10 songs(thus far) during the 2019 chart year. It begins on Nov 24, 2018 and ends on Nov 23, 2019 (I might create an alternate one that begins on Dec 1 later). I have reason to believe this year will begin on Nov 24 and span 53 weeks however: 1. The technical tracking periods are still the exact same, billboard only just moved the publishing dates “back” a week around New Years last year; so therefore the current year-end periods don’t have to end in the last issue dated November/begin first issue dated December. 2. Billboard used 53 weeks for their 2013 year-end chart to accommodate 53 Saturdays that year, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t this year (also can’t see them just excluding an entire week). Anyways, I posted something like this briefly mid-last year and have been keeping track of a new one for this year and since it's the halfway period of this years' tracking period, I thought it would be interesting to share. Seeing the whole year visually is kinda cool; you might be able to look at each line and better estimate where a song ends up. Almost all scores are based off fhas and his prediction system so huge credits go to him for those! (Also fhas, your AVI rn is your best one yet :) ) Some observations: - “Old Town Road” absolutely has a shot for the year end number 1 due to how insanely stable it is at such a high amount of points right now. - I feel like “Without Me” and “Sunflower” will be number 2 and 3, respectively. - “Happier”, “Wow.” and maybe “7 Rings” should be good for the top 10. - “Sicko Mode” might be able to make the top 10 with how well it’s holding right now, but I think it will be close. - “Thank U, Next” is currently fighting for both it’s chart-life, but also potentially for a spot in the top 10. In the last two years, the cutoff for the top 10 was around 750k points (TYN is at #49 this week and will have about 745k points). - “Sucker” and “Bad Guy” keep gaining weekly-points and look healthy so they remain wildcards in terms of where they end up. If anyone has any questions, let me know!

I think if it’s on the charts all it has to do to stay on is gain in one metric, and close friends barely gained on radio this week. It’ll be gone next week

So Thank U, Next (#49 TW, 28 wks) could be off the chart next week?!? Girls Like You should be off in the next two weeks. Can't see it climbing to #25 or higher and it's approaching the 52 week limit. ETA: If Thank U, Next actually falls off the chart next week, it will be the highest uncharted song so far this year on that list. The previous high was All I Want For Christmas being at #11 on the week it dropped from the chart back on Jan 1.

All right, I just saw the new chart and I need to know, why is close friends still on the charts!? its below the top 50, lasted way longer than 20 weeks AND its not gaining anymore, isnt this going against the billboard rules? It's been confirmed before by Gary Trust that if a song is losing chart points, if it gains in radio, then it's considered an active single that can rebound and is thus kept off recurrency. Given that the song is starting to waver on the metric in this new tracking week, I concur that this is probably its swan song. Side note, my midyear video that I've been prepping for weeks is finally ready. Catch the premiere in about 10 minutes if you'd like! Credit is given in both the video and description to fhas for his incredible work for the first 25 weeks. As to the version of the list I'm using, it's "W/O Week + RIME's" up to #52.

Billboard Year end estimates updated through May 25, 2019 chart:
With Thank U, Next very likely to fall off the chart next week, there's a good possibility that Ariana Grande will surrender the #3 spot of the year to... [checks notes]... Ariana Grande.
(The fine print: As usual, based on my modified inverse points system, with bonus points for multi-week runs at #1, #2 and #3. The top 100 are listed as are any songs still on the chart and >=100 points. Triangles indicated song is still charting. First week included is Dec 1, 2018 chart. Estimated cut-off for #100 at year-end is 1100 points or less.)

My formula accuracy test, if anyone wants to see. I expected my formula to be equally accurate for top and bottom but weirdly enough it seems more accurate for the bottom - missing one is pretty great.

^ Were you counting the week ranked Nov 24 2018? I noticed you have trip, Eastside, Sicko Mode, and Happier way too high

My formula accuracy test, if anyone wants to see. I expected my formula to be equally accurate for top and bottom but weirdly enough it seems more accurate for the bottom - missing one is pretty great. Probably because the greatest weekly variance in points comes at the top of the chart.

All I know for sure is that OTR will be #1 on the YE. Also Without Me and Sunflower will be #2 and #3.
