Hopin he comes for that massive smash this era. MBDTF and Yeezus are fantastic albums, but I miss some of his more mainstream stuff. He's long overdue for a big solo hit.

The underlying message isn't bad, honestly, but he's insane lmao. Also incredibly gay.

"Club ready?" That could mean several things.

He compared it (at least in style, not necessarily sonically) to "N***** in Paris" and "Don't Like". So I'm not expecting any top 40-pandering.

Kanye West stops show to make sure everyone is standing up, including fan in a wheelchair
Kanye West called a halt to his concert in Sydney when he saw an audience member was not on his feet dancing to the music. Then he realised the fan was in a wheelchair. Two life lessons we’re taught when we’re young – always wear clean underwear, and think before you speak. Only Kim K knows if he abides by the former, but Kanye West definitely does not go by the latter. At his recent concert in Sydney for the Yeezus tour, the rapper allegedly caused a major kafuffle by calling a stop to proceedings because he saw that a couple of crowd members were not dancing along with the rest of them. He yelled to the audience: ‘I can’t do this song, I can’t do this show until everybody stand up. ‘Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s**t.’ He then spotted two fans not enjoying the music as they should, and refused to continue until they got up and boogied. Embarrassingly for the star, the people he’d picked on had good reasons not to be bopping along – one waved their prosthetic limb in explanation, to which Kim Kardashian’s hubby gave a swift: ‘Okay, you fine.’ But gunning for the other audience member, the star went on to say: ‘This is the longest I’ve had to wait to do a song, it’s unbelievable,’ according to the MailOnline. A concert goer tweeted that it was an awkward three minutes: jasmyn @dahmynn I have a three minute video of Kanye waiting for a guy in a wheelchair to stand up Despite the crowd trying to alert Kanye to his mistake, he sent his body guard to double check the fan was indeed confined to a wheelchair. On discovering that that fan too was physically impaired and unable to get on their feet as requested, Kanye said: ‘He is in a wheelchair? It’s fine!’ metro.co.uk/2014/09/13/imma-let-you-sit-there-kanye-west-stops-show-to-make-sure-everyone-is-standing-including-fan-in-a-wheelchair-4867674/

The media is spinning this as him being some ableist bully when he was just trying to get the crowd hype and did not at any point berate a wheelchair bound audience member to get out of their seat. The whole thing was playful and he even said "If he in a wheelchair then it's cool" or whatever but since it's Kanye, of course it was a big angry insensitive rant because he's the worst man in the world.

I never thought I'd find myself defending Kanye (I normally cannot stand the man), but I agree. Sending security to see if the man was actually disabled is extreme, and the audience seemed a bit brash, but the video makes the incident seem more awkward than rude. This just seemed like an awkward mistake mixed with typical Kanye behavior. Kanye being Kanye, and the media chose to spin an awkward situation into something hateful, it seems. To clarify I am disabled myself, so if I really DID think he seriously overstepped his boundaries, I would not be defending him in any way. :)

Okay, a few things. Any attempt to enforce full audience participation is fucking stupid. Concert-goers pay an ungodly sum to watch some dickhead drag his ass across the stage, so it's the job of the entertainer to excite fans through performance; or, if you're really on point, get them on their feet. But the nerve of this man to call attention to audience members' disabilities, that's the greatest harm done here. And I've long had it with the sacrosanct treatment of mere pop stars, like Kanye West, whose PR mechanics work tirelessly to protect them from much deserved criticism and to intellectualize or rather project a veneer of intellectualism onto someone so consistently dumb and divorced from reality. This man is not a man. But cyst, how're you not gonna call him out on his ableist grasp on disability terminology? They have disabilities, not handicaps!

Look, Kanye has done a lot of stupid things. Things that I don't agree with. But the lengths that the media has gone to to demonize every move made by this man and derail any discussion of the good that he has done for his own community are absurd. He has said really stupid shit and made bad choices. He has been an asshole to his girlfriends and he has made bold statements without communicating the intent behind them. However, throughout his entire career, he has called into question the systems of power which criminalize and hold back black bodies from advancing in society, he has championed for those in power to give opportunities to those without and his entire mission (whether he has been successful and whether he has been able to effectively communicate this on a mainstream level) has been about breaking down barriers in all avenues of society which have typically worked to shut out the efforts of people of color.
I totally agree that we should call out stars on their bullshit. He has said a lot of shit that I have cringed at and, even as he champions for the celebration of blackness, he has demonstrated latent misogynoir with lines like "My bitch make your bitch look like Precious." Kanye is in no way a perfect activist and, even though I consider his work groundbreaking and he stands alone as my favorite artist of the 21st century, he is "problematic", for lack of a better word. But the extent to which his actions, words and intentions are misconstrued to paint him as an angry ignorant black radical when there are literally dozens of stars who do and say equally problematic things but slip under the radar and even more whose behavior is NEVER called into question is at best lazy click baiting journalism and at worst a heavily racialized assassination of the character of one of the most influential people in hip hop.

Ughhh @ him bringing back that weird affected way of talking. You know he wouldn't be speaking like that if that interview was with Wendy Williams.
