Diamond Rio will release a live album commending their 25th anniversary on November 18th. The album will only be available digitally on iTunes and the only place to get the CD/DVD will be through the bands website. SourceI wish I could "like" this more than once. :)

Fun fact: Randy's wife took the picture that was used as the album cover.

It hasn't yet. The artist roster will likely stay the same but staff members at SDU in the affected departments will be leaving.

I was listening to KNIX tonight and they had an interview with Darius Rucker (it was most likely pre-recorded from the sound of it). Darius said his upcoming album (he didn't say what it will be called) will be out on either February 10 or 17, most likely the 10th.

this is big news... It's the first full year Toby Keith has not released an album in 13 years starting from 2001 to 2013! I think his quality of material is falling because they try to rush the album's release.

They can look for new material for him to 'come back' huge.

I agree with you that that's probably why the album got pushed back from December to early 2015, but in the end I highly doubt it will matter. I don't see Toby having any sort of huge comeback and at this point I have to wonder if he'll ever see the top 10 again. Heck, I'm not even sure if "Drunk Americans" can crack the top 20 given that it's currently struggling just to enter the top 30. It debuted on Billboard at #31 five weeks ago, and right now it's at...#32.

Trisha Yearwood has revealed she's going to be working on new music soon. It wouldn't surprise me if she and Garth release new albums around the same time again next year. So is this album a lead into a project that will be a collection of entirely new tracks? Is that what's on the horizon? Yes, it will be all new songs. I already have songs. I'm excited about the opportunity to make a record with all new music. I don't know when I'll get started on it, probably the first of the year. I'm definitely not going to take seven years to make a record again.

Instead of just being an EP of new "I'm back" stuff, Trisha wrapped her hits around it as a bonus to fans (and to her ability to own copyrights of her biggest hits, like Garth). I suspect both of them are going to have albums out by summertime, if not a duets album (finally).

"Simply K.T. Oslin" will be released in early 2015. It will be 1 new song and 8 of her favorites from the past re-recorded. I have an advanced copy and it's great. The new song "Do You Think About Me" is the first self penned song she's released in 13 years. The other 8 tracks are totally re-arranged in comparison to the originals with very colorful arrangements. Her signature "80s Ladies" that closes the album is simply just K.T. and the piano. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedK.T. will also be making her Grand Ole Opry come back next Saturday 11-29 at both evening shows. She will be announcing a theater tour early next year that will go through 2015.

Diamond Rio, The Mavericks, Trisha Yearwood, KT Oslin...good stuff on this page alone. We'll never hear much of it on the radio but glad they're all still releasing music.
Speaking of KT, I started listening to country just after her peak but I loved her last number 1, Come Next Monday. Great video, too.

K.T.'s story could never happen today. At her debut she was a former broadway singer in her late 40s who had some songwriting success. Next thing you know she had 5 years of chart topping hits. No 47 year old woman would have a chance at getting near Country radio today with a debut single.

I can't wait til it gets officially released. Her new arrangements are so good and the new song (track 1) proves she still has those writing skills! KT still hot at 72!

A little bit of an underwhelming debut for At Christmas, but the album really kinda came out of nowhere and Sara hasn't really been riding high lately. Still hoping that the title track can make a decent dent on the chart this holiday season. It's a very enjoyable tune. I'm looking forward to her performance on that upcoming country Christmas special that Jennifer Nettles hosts every year!

Lindsay Lawler announced her new project, Two Peaches Six Cookies. The album will deliver to fans just after the first of the year.
Says Lawler of the new project, "It has been more fun than I can express working with Chris Roberts and Greg Bieck to produce this. And thanks to Mark Evitts, Kevin Post and Ashley Campbell for keeping it country a lot of fiddle, steel and banjo on this record."
While not (yet) a household name nationally, Lawler is well-known within Nashville circles. After cutting her musical teeth in Los Angeles, she moved to Nashville in 2007 and almost immediately got a sough-after regular gig at the famed Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. There, with the help of close friend and One Flew South alum Chris Roberts, she helped form the dynamic and energetic sound that would shape her first couple of indie projects. She would eventually catch the ear of Nashville's Renegade Radio and become a co-host of two different shows for the station. If that wasn't enough, she penned what would become the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree theme song, "Standing Tall," and continues to go to Washington D.C. to perform it for the tree-lighting ceremony each year. Lastly, she has become an official spokesperson for the Truckload Carriers Association and travels extensively raising funds and awareness for their Highway Angel program, of which she also penned their theme song. If musician and radio personality weren't enough, she also plays the role of writer on her blog, Long Hauler Lawler. (Her dedication to her grandmother who passed away earlier this year is a work of art.)
I have had the privilege of seeing Lawler perform and while tiny in stature, her stage presence and voice is anything but. She's got great vocal prowess, conveying an emotive sensitivity on the ballads and delivering sass and energy galore on the up-tempo ones.
