Ben Haenow is last year's winner of X Factor UK. He is about to release his debut album this fall. The lead sing from the album is a duet ... I think it's safe to say with Kelly Clarkson.

I don't know if this is true or not but....there is a image going around of a Facebook post from Kelly's page saying she cancelled the US and UK shows. It is no longer there but it would not surprise me if we get word about it soon...Tour is officially cancelled. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Of course it would be canceled when I have front row and Nick Jonas is opening. :'( Just glad I didn't book anything non-refundable way in advance.

I read the news while walking into work yesterday and I think that forced me to stay composed, because I didn't burst into tears or collapse like I expected to. I'm sad because I had plans to see two shows on this leg, but my only genuine concern here is her health. The doctor ordered vocal rest of the remainder of the year, which is pretty significant. I hope she's okay. I'd rather have her rest now and take care of her voice and general well-being than suffer the consequences later.

Did 'Heartbeat' really sell 1 million copies in the US or is that a sales + streaming figure ? I feel fortunate that I got to see Kelly live this tour, but am also disappointed for all of the fans and for Kelly herself, since she loves touring. Since her voice was great at her final show before all of the cancellations, I have to wonder if she has cancelled more due to the pregnancy or if purely due to concerns of vocal health. Either way, I was concerned about her energy level with having to complete the Canadian and UK legs of the tour being while 6-7 months (?) pregnant. |

neally All I know it that these are all "estimated numbers" - whatever that means now. But since streamings also get certified nowadays (separately), I'm pretty sure these are actual sales :)

At least we got a good album out of it! And a tour for those who were able to see her. It kinda stinks though... she releases the best album of her career and everything about it just kinda fizzled commercially.

This is unfortunate. I'm sure it's very bittersweet for her, too. I mean, she has another "bundle of joy" to look forward to, but it comes at the price of a tour she was incredibly proud of. It makes me thankful that Carrie has verbally said she's not having a second child until after this next album cycle and tour is over. I'd be devastated if she ever made such an announcement. My heart goes out to her die-hard fans who've yet to see her live, I can only imagine how this feels. And I hope, in the very least, that she has a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby when all is said and done.

I was bored this morning and when I saw that people were starting to post rankings of their fav KC albums on here again I decided to make a list myself but I based mine on number of plays (songs) on iTunes instead of just how I feel about the albums. I was surprised to see that PBP is about to become my most played KC album.
Number of plays / Album title
1089 - Stronger
1082 - PPB
558 - WIR
It would have been interesting to see where the other albums would sit on that list but I lost the counts when I fell in the stairs of my appartment (laptop in hand) couple of years ago lol I'm pretty sure Breakaway would be #1.

I am very excited to hear Kelly on another duet. I do wonder if they will keep it as his lead single, though. Kelly may have planned to do some promo or pre-record some things with Ben while she was over in the UK. It has to be a bit difficult to promo a lead single off of a debut album when it involves another person who is on vocal rest. I would think that is a huge gamble.

I'd be interested to hear from the vocal expert neally on this issue. Particularly, knowing that Kelly's voice was in pretty rough shape after the BA tours, and how it obviously bounced back from that, what are the chances that 1. She is suffering potentially irreparable vocal damage and 2. The chances she has of recovery, and to what extent it is possible. I'm also wondering how much worse vomit is for your vocahl chords than hard liquor, which we know plenty of singers have more than a few splashes of, and the state of their vocal abilities compared to their peaks.
