Cool. I didn't know about that remix of You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You. There's also a shorter version without the moaning at the end. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjUYFLmuV-M

It's the same tempo as the one used on Girls, but I miss the epic breakdown from that version. Where the beat drops out and there's a beautiful harmonious layered vocal climax before the energy kicks back in.
That's all this is missing, it almost puts me to sleep because nothing breaks up the beat or changes the energy.

Honey is otherworldly. It wasn't as immediate with me as Missing U, but I love it now.

I think Honey is one of her most immediate songs for me and on par with some of the best moments from Body Talk.

We were driving through downtown when Honey came on on my mp3 player and it finally clicked with me. It sounded so beautiful. I can't wait for this album.

HOLY SH*T, I love this. The production is impeccable, arguably the best I've heard all year. I love how subtle and slow-burn she went with everything. Such a vibe.
"Missing U" is still classic Robyn, no complaints. "Because It's In The Music" is f**king sublime, that chorus and that instrumental. "Baby Forgive Me" is a MOOD, love the vocal effects and that subtle build-up. And then the way it flows into "Send To Robyn Immediately." WHAT? "Honey" remains too perfect for this planet. "Between The Lines" and "Ever Again" are both bops. "Human Being" and "Beach2k20" are probably the weak links, but I love both of them. Calling them weak does them a disservice.
Immediately my favorite album by her. The minute this dropped it was a dance classic. The ghost of Donna Summer has risen and possessed this bitch.

Good lord...this is how you deliver a groundbreaking, adult, not following by the rules pop album. This woman can do NO wrong. This is the best disco diva album in YEARS. Right up there, if not surpassing Madonna's Confessions. I love every single track but Ever Again slays my soul and I can't stop playing it.

I've listened to it three more times this morning and I can't get over it. Just a masterstroke. So meticulously crafted, yet it never feels overdone or stifled. The whole thing is just so warm, intimate and emotional and she has one of the most effective voices in pop music.
I don't care if this took eight years, it was worth it. I'll wait another eight for the next one.

I like it, doesn't have a Call Your Girlfriend or Dancing on My Own but there are some really good songs on there. Honey continues to grow on me and Ever Again was probably the most instant for me. I couldn't get through Beach2k20 but I will give that one another try. My other favorite is Because It's in the Music. That one and Ever Again are tops for me.

Phenomenal. I was already eagerly anticipating this one due to the strength of both “Missing U” and “Honey”, but this blew my already high expectations out of the water. It’s a cohesive, warm listen that was over much too soon (seriously, it flew by.) Every track is a highlight in its own right, but immediate standouts other than the two singles are “Because It’s In The Music”, “Baby Forgive Me”, “Between The Lines”, and “Ever Again.”
A career highlight, for sure, and quite easily one of the best albums released all year. Consistently impressed with the level of quality she delivers. Echoing the sentiment that this was well worth the wait.
As an aside, “Honey” in particular might be my favorite thing she’s ever done. Raw, emotional, warm, vibrant, perfect. Five minutes of bliss; it’s just too damn wonderful. One of my favorite pop songs ever.

Only one listen in but this is great. “Ever Again” and “Because It’s In The Music” are early favorites (in addition to the two perfect songs she released earlier). I don’t fuck with the “Beach2k20”-type Robyn songs and this is no exception.
It does all flow so well, and will serve as a remarkable high-by-the-beach-or-pool-or-bed slowjam fest. I do wish there was an “Indestructible” or “Call Your Girlfriend” to give me ~that Robyn moment, because no one else delivers something like that, but I am definitely satisfied.

I know how recent this is may cause a bias but this is probably my favorite album of the year. It all flows so well and I’m digging every track, although the 2 singles + “Because It’s in the Music”, “Ever Again” and “Between the Lines” are standouts for me. I love how she’s basically bucked the trend of trading in cohesiveness in an album for singular standout moments just to get steaming points. And her vocals! Even though several tracks are definitely instrumental-driven with their ambience and whatnot, her vocals are incredible and never play second fiddle. I like that she didn’t opt for just traditional pop vocals and instead used them more strategically to enhance every song.
Ugh. Anyway. I could go on.

Ever Again is such a flawless ANTHEM!!! I’ll be back with a more detailed review once I’ve recovered.

This bitch makes me cry and dance at the same time. Such a miracle to the music industry. FLAWLESS album. Welcome back, etc. The album gets an A from me. #firstlisten #hottake:
1. Missing U 2. Honey 3. Ever Again 4. Human Being 5. Between The Lines 6. Beach2k20 7. Baby Forgive Me 8. Send To Robyn Immediately (my iTunes copy says "Robin", LOL) 9. Because It's In The Music
The Top 6 are pretty much flawless. But, the ones that follow them are still of the highest quality. The only reason she doesn't get play on pop radio is because she is too good for it.

I got a full listen on the way home in traffic and I’ll be damned if this album didn’t click instantly on that 2nd listen. I love the robotic voice she uses on the first few lines of Human Being. It’s so robotic and not human that’s I’m curious to learn more about the song and dive into the meaning behind it and the lyrics. That couldn’t have been a coincidence. My favs have not changed but even Beach2k20 grew on me.
