This is excellent. I love the crispness of his voice. I hear a bit of George Strait in the tone of his voice as well as maybe a bit of Joe Nichols. I love this song and the production. One of the better songs released so far this year so I will assume it will struggle at the bottom for weeks and weeks then fizzle out around #30. (no thanks to country radio) I really don't see what makes you believe this will be the case. Easton has yet to release anything that hasn't gone Top 15 and this seems to be one of his better ones. This should almost be an automatic top 10. Agreed. Plus this is a lead single, so even if it's met with resistance Mercury will have plenty of motivation to push this hard. That being said, I think this is way too catchy and well done to miss the top 10. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this goes to #1. Really looking forward to Easton's new album, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Can't wait to start hearing this on radio where I'm at, hopefully a high charter for Easton!

I saw him at the Nashville airport earlier this afternoon! :)
But anyway, I quite like this song, but that doesn't surprise me at all since I've quite enjoyed all of his previous singles. I'm hoping he can continue to find more success this era!
Any word on when this will be on iTunes?

Easton Corbin reminds me of George Strait. None of his songs have failed to miss the Top 20 and this one won't either. I see it being a Top 10 single for him if not a #1 single. As far as it being a lead off single is what concerns me. His last album All Over The Road has numerous radio friendly singles. Are You With Me, Hearts Drawn In The Sand, A Thing For You (my favorite to be a single, has a Hey Pretty Girl type vibe to it) and Dance Real Slow. I could see them actually pulling what Hunter Hayes and Lady Antebellum did. Rereleasing All Over The Road as a deluxe edition with newly recorded material. I know it's probably wishful thinking but it could happen.

^Although I share your thoughts that there were many great songs from All Over The Road that never made it to radio, I really hope they don't do a re-release of the album. Sure, I was disappointed it only got 2 singles, but Mercury Nashville did really well with promoting those songs to radio, and I think that overall they've done great with Easton. It seemed like they really had to fight to get his songs up the chart, but a #5 hit and a #3 hit are pretty darn good. I would've loved another single or two from the AOTR album, but given how long it took the first 2 songs to climb, I think Mercury feared that a 3rd single would get 'lost in the shuffle' like many songs do over the holidays or in January, likely resulting in a lower chart peak (like we saw with "I Can't Love You Back") and diminishing Easton's momentum by quite a bit. And since Easton was ready to go with new music, it made sense to release a brand new song and re-establish some momentum.
"Clockwork" is yet another great offering from Easton. There were a couple songs from the last album that I liked a little more, but "Clockwork" is right up there. I am really hoping that he continues to release quality, neo-traditional country music. He's never let me down (like plenty of other artists have), and I hope it stays that way.

It will be a new album, not a deluxe edition. I do wish AOTR had gotten a longer life and more singles, but I think Mercury probably made the right decision... even though I dislike the decision. Between Are You With Me and Dance Real Slow especially, it's a shame they may never see a release.

Damn, I love this song. I'm not quite sure why I've never quite gotten into Easton's past two albums, but this is refreshing. I hope this gets Easton back to the top.

There's no way he's releasing a deluxe edition of All Over The Road. He's got a new album coming out with this as the lead single from it. More than likely, "Clockwork" is gonna be the album title.

Pretty good! I'm still mourning that he didn't release "Tulsa, Texas" as a single (yeah, I tend to get stuck in the past :) ), but I like it.

When I hear Tulsa, Texas the only thing that comes to mind is "pure country". Absolutely love that song. Dance Real Slow and Tulsa, Texas sound like songs you'd hear on a George Strait Greatest Hits cd.

His debut album is FANTASTIC.
Judging radio friendliness based on snippets is difficult. There were a lot of radio friendly tracks on AOTR.

From his debut album, the only songs I've heard are "A Little More Country Than That" and "Roll with It". I previewed the songs from "All Over the Road" on iTunes when it was first released and the one song that really screamed "radio hit" was "Hearts Drawn in the Sand". Top to bottom his debut is really good. I liked every song on Easton's debut really. "Let Alone You", "This Far From Memphis", "Leaving a Lonely Town", and "Someday When I'm Old" are standouts to me. Not "radio hits", but I tend to prefer album cuts, (Especially with guys like Aldean, Bryan...Aldean has had some REALLY good songs sit on an album.)

I prefer All Over the Road, but both of his albums are fantastic. There's definitely no shortage of great album cuts on either that would've made lovely single choices if only he had the star power to release more before moving onto the next era. "Tulsa Texas" is by far my favorite of those unreleased songs.
As for the six singles he has released thus far, this one might actually be my least-favorite, but it's still a solid tune. There's just something about this one that isn't quite grabbing me the way his others have, but I imagine it'll be a grower and I'm sure it will serve him well on the charts leading into his next album.

I think both This Far From Memphis and Let Alone You would've been great as radio songs - after all that was back in the good old days before bro-country. I narrowly prefer Blaine Larsen's version of Let Alone You, but I still can't believe that neither him or Easton released it. Only hope now is that George Strait decides to go back and finally cut it (he tried to cut once before, but Blaine Larsen already had it on hold).

Let Alone You is possibly my favorite Easton cut to date - I think I like it more than Are You With Me, though it's a close call. Just a stellar song. I'd probably die happy if I heard King George sing it.

Should we be worried this hasn't received any adds yet?

It picked some up last week, but it's usually bigger artists that get a lot early on. I'm actually not expecting a lot of adds tomorrow unfortunately, with rumors that Hunter and Taylor may be sending new music out tomorrow as well. But hopefully it will do alright. He's been promoting the hell out of it.

I agree that this might not pick up a whole lot of adds tomorrow, but I'm confident that once Easton sends this to iTunes it will sell well and attract enough attention to climb the charts. This will probably take 25-35 weeks to climb, but that's common for just about everyone these days. We pretty much can't judge anything about a song's forthcoming chart run based on its first few weeks anymore, as there have been songs like "Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About" that have had shockingly slow climbs and still managed to reach respectable peak positions.

Easton's best single deserves a number 1 peak.

Just bought this song off iTunes. This is by far my favorite song by Easton (and I have liked A LOT Of his songs). I see this topping the charts sometime this summer and being a huge early summer smash!

I finally took some time to listen to this one, and it's pretty cool. I can tell it'll grow on me after several more listens, but I have little doubt that this'll catch on over the summer and give him another top 5 at the very least.
