This is a bit over-produced, but I still like it a lot. Just saying that it would be even better if they tuned down some of the guitars in the background.
But I will enjoy hearing this on the radio a lot. I think it will be another big hit for them (a #1, most likely) and I can't wait to get their new album.

I agree with the assessment of the over production. I like the song alright, but Mike Eli is certainly one of the vocalists in country music I don't want any electric guitars or production to drown him out. This song has a really great flow to it though and I think this will grow on me as the weeks progress.
For some reason, this seems like a good spring time song as well, which is when it should peak :).

OMG. This is so...cool. I suppose it's another try for a consecutive #1 era here?
I also like how they made good use of the all-too-well-known cliche "turn the radio up, and roll the windows down" to paint some kind of a picture in the pre-chorus.

This one is "ok" at best in my book. I think how really bad the new FGL and McGraw singles are makes this sound a little better than it really is.

It's a little overproduced but I found myself tapping my foot while listening and enjoyed it overall. Eli Young Band is so underrated and so talented, I really hope this one can help bring them to the top!

The production isn't too bad on this, but perhaps it is a little guitar- heavy. I like it regardless though- especially the verse. This is quite catchy and will hopefully do well for them at radio and on the charts.

I definitely agree with this being overproduced... It's hard to hear Mike Eli's vocals, which is so sad, because his is one of my favorite voices in country music. It's so distinct (but I'm sure it's not for everyone).
Anyway, I am so, so glad they went with Dust over the other two songs that were being considered (10,000 Towns and Just Add Moonlight) and avoided any possible 'bro-ness.' (Neither song is straight-forward bro, let me be clear on that. I think there's a lot that can steer a 'bro' song away from full 'bro-ness' when it comes to production and lyrics, and that's what EYB was able to do. However, both are about subjects that have been so overdone recently at radio, so I'm glad they went this route instead.) Like Cody, I like how they used a cliche in a new way, to tell a story, rather than to just be about turning the radio up and the windows down and cruising or whatever.
I still expect 10,000 Towns to see a release, I think, but I'm glad they went with Dust first. Excited to see where this era takes them. :)

I like this quite a bit. I will probably be in the minority but I like this more than Drunk Last Night.

I find this song to be a good follow up to Drunk Last Night, they didn't try anything dramatically different from Drunk Last Night which I think is a good thing. Both singles from this era have been very good, but also different mainly in tempo to anything from the Life At Best era, which was also a very good era.

Since Eli Young Band are on Scott Bitchetta's label, how many "bro country" songs do you think we'll get from them? I wouldn't count "Drunk Last Night" even though it comes close. None. They come close, but no cigar.

Personally I don't think DLN even comes close to bro-country.

Personally I don't think DLN even comes close to bro-country. There's a loud guitar and lyrics about drinking. According to other songs people label as "bro country", it's very close. Production doesn't mean anything with bro-country. "Carolina" and "Fly Over States" have rock guitars. Doesn't mean they're bro-country. And the issue isn't drinking songs, it's celebratory drinking songs. Like we're not gonna call "Whiskey Lullaby" bro-country just because it mentions whiskey.

I can't stop listening to this. Great to have an up tempo single from Eli Young Band. I definitely think this will be a hit. Any idea when this will be on iTunes?

I was wondering the same thing and getting ready to ask the same question. I'm hoping they have it up as a preorder on iTunes in the next few weeks with "Dust" as one of the singles you get with the preorder. They are in my opinion one of the most underrated groups in country music. Them and Little Big Town are the 2 best groups in country in my opinion,

I just heard this on a brand new country station in Sacramento (call letters are KHLX, on air ID is B925 accessible on CC's IHeartRadio platform) currently airing 10,000 songs in a row commercial free, and I really like it.
I also agree that the production is overdone in some spots, because Miki Eli's voice is indeed among the best out there; I hope it becomes another smash hit for them.

10,000 songs in a row commercial free :o :o :o Yeah, it's the brand new station out there in Sacramento and 10,000 songs in a row is how they kicked it off.

If you looked above a few posts, I specifically POSTED the same link to listen to song, thought you would want to know this, along with single cover art for the song.

Thanks rbundy for the link. I love this! It's too bad they didn't back off the production just a tiny bit......wouldn't take much. Just like We Were Us, the loudness of the song keeps it from becoming an A+ for me.
I haven't bought an Eli Young album yet, only singles but may just break down this next one. They also seem like they would be a great live band.

Great tracks like "That's The Way", "Small Town Kid", and "Oklahoma Girl". Their last album Life At Best was fantastic I thought. Don't let the release of "Say Goodnight" fool you. Why that was a single I have no earthly idea. The rest of the album had standouts like "The Fight", "Skeletons", "Every Other Memory', "The Falling", and "My Old Man's Son". Highly suggest trying one of their previous albums along with 10,000 Towns :).

Level is a fantastic album, and Life at Best is one of my favorite CDs from start to finish in the past 5 years, easily. They are great live, too, so I'd recommend checking them out if you're able to. ... and seriously nice guys to boot! (And easy on the eyes, if that matters! ;)) PS ... first post is updated as well. :)

Launching a new radio station with a 10,000 song commercial free spree is a fairly common strategy, and with new country stations popping up all over the place in Detroit, New Orleans, Augusta, GA and several other cities, the Mediabase panel will cross the 150 station mark pretty soon, which hasn't been the case in several years.
Also, given the fact that country radio has shortened its 'artist separation' period (the minimum amount of time that would elapse between hearing two songs by the same artist) from 75-90 minutes to as little as 45 minutes, that trend is bound to accelerate as well, so expect to hear the format's biggest artists a lot more often, if not already.
A new CD from these folks sometime this spring would be a delight, to put it mildly.
