I was really hoping for "Headphones" or "Country in My Soul" before they released this one, and now I'm just waiting for their new album! I like most of their songs but the rap is hard to keep up with on this one. When's their next single coming out?

"Derulo, Bryan and FGL will perform the latter two acts' team-up "This Is How We Roll" before Derulo segues into his hit "Talk Dirty." (Organizers say there's another surprise in the show-opening performance that even Derulo is unaware of.) And if the hitmakers have their way, the performance won't be the last time you hear a "This Is How We Roll" collaboration this summer. They'll launch a remix of the song by Derulo and "Talk Dirty" producer Wallpaper on iTunes in conjunction with the show, and everyone hopes the song captures the same pop party vibe that made FGL's "Cruise" remix with Nelly a crossover hit. "I'm obsessed with it," Derulo said of the "This Is How We Roll" remix. "I know I'm in the thick of it, but I've listened to that song a million times, literally. I actually really, really love it. The melodies on that song are crazy and the marriage between that and bringing more of a pop flavor ... I really think it's something special. I hope that people like it half as much as I do. If people like it half as much as I do we're in good shape." news.yahoo.com/jason-derulo-john-legend-among-cmt-awards-vips-180031971.html

By peaking at #2, Luke Bryan manages a third near miss in his career. He needs one more to get on the list of those with the most #2s. His runner up hits are: 1. Do I-2009 2. That's My Kind Of Night-2013 3. This Is How We Roll-with Florida Georgia Line-2014
Should we break out our violin cases for F.G.L. now or later?

This is being credited to Jason Derulo on the Canadian country chart. This would have been the first #1 duet between a duo and a solo artist since Reba McEntire teamed up with Brooks & Dunn in 1998 with If You See Him/If You See Her.

I prefer the version without Luke. If they're going to remix this with an auto-tuned pop star, it makes no sense to keep Luke on the track, because his voice doesn't go with Jason's at all.
That being said, I wouldn't mind hearing the Jason-only version on my pop stations; I seriously doubt if they will play the Luke version.
Also, I'm disappointed they didn't do the remix on the CMTs last night; what was the point of having Jason on if they weren't going to do it? lol

I don't really like the JdR part, I do like the new intro though. Let's see if this goes top 10.

The remix is a lot better than I would have expected, but still, I wish they would have just left the song alone. I read on Taste of Country a while ago that they were going to try and work with Wiz Khalifa on their new album, so I expect more of these remix's to be coming.

I like them and some of their music. However, if they start doing remixes and adding rappers in to many more songs, they are going to start giving me a feel of being gimmicky. Too much of anything is a turnoff.

What a disappointment. I'm old school I guess. When you make a song, you record it and stand by it being the best interpretation of the song as you could possibly do. Not, "this is my song, and oh by the way this remix is going to be for these people and this remix is for those people over there"... And I'm also sick of country music shows including everybody else but country artists on their shows. It was a novelty for a while but enough is enough. Why do country shows fawn over everybody else but the reverse is not true?

This Is How We Roll debuts at #38 on the adult pop songs chart, #39 on the pop songs chart. Luke Bryan is being credited.

That's fiction plain & simple; the last time that top 40 radio had more listeners than country, 24 year-old Taylor Swift was in diapers.
On top of that, 8 of the 10 most-played artists of the most recent decade (2000-09) were country artists with Tim McGraw at #1, and the only two non-country acts on that list were Green Day & Nickelback.
This tune won't go anywhere at either Hot AC or top 40, certainly as it applies to airplay.

I do agree about pointless complaining even though I don't like this song or FGL, but saying that you're going to ignore the countless complaining is unnecessary. And I also think that saying that the complaining itself is "pointless" is simply not true when it comes to many posters including me who take time to site specific aspects of their music we don't like. Do some take advantage and pile on? Yes, absolutely - but many also choose to be intelligent and mindful about it.

Intelligent and mindful commentary is one thing; constant repetitive one or two line comments about how this is the worst song ever, awful, horrible, and FGL is just sad for making this music is a lot more unnecessary and redundant in my opinion than my comment. If people come in here simply to repeatedly insult the song for the sake of insulting it, surely I am allowed to say I think it's pointless? Or are we all expected to conform, fall in line and not object to the repetitiveness?

If people come in here simply to repeatedly insult the song for the sake of insulting it, surely I am allowed to say I think it's pointless? Or are we all expected to conform, fall in line and not object to the repetitiveness? There really was no need to say that at all IMO. It will just cause a war of words between FGL fans and FGL detractors. Like I said, I am not defending what others say about FGL or their music. If you read my post, I said as much about how I agree with you about that. And you know I don't think that anybody should fall in line and not object to the "repetitiveness", but this thread was brought back up by a update on the pop charts by buffalocountry and nothing more. Another poster commented how they thought this song was dreadful, and that's their opinion. I think that this whole discussion about how FGL is horrible or that they aren't and everyone who objects should lay off, is getting very old at this point. If you had objections to a specific post or multiple posts, then I would have liked to see you point that out and voice you're opinion about how it's "pointless" complaining and whoever you objected to should take a better approach to their post about how they don't like the song. I personally can't find a post in this thread that was unnecessary pointless repetitiveness complaining style of post in almost a month. If you said that while this song was charting then I would find it well in line while the unnecessary insults were going on or the constant one or two liners, but those haven't been made in this thread in quite a while.

Ok. Here's the deal. Pulse is a music discussion board, not a fan board. We don't have to post positive opinions in every thread. HOWEVER, with that said... mylifeback and others have a point. I am seeing multiple repetitive posts in the same threads, all expressing dislike of a song (and it's not just this thread), and that needs to be limited. If you dislike a song, that's fine. If you want to post about it, that's fine. Just please explain yourself in your initial post (what you dislike OR like about the song), and then exit the thread. There's no reason for anyone to pop into the same thread (after he/she has already explained what he/she dislikes about a specific song) and then continue to post negatively about it. By board definition, that borders on trolling. That doesn't mean you can't post multiple times in threads...just please don't repeat yourself, whether it's a negative opinion OR a positive one. Post only if you have something to add to the conversation. There's no reason for anyone to go into a thread a few days after explaining their dislike for a song and then saying something like "I wish these guys would just go away" (etc). Also, if you feel like someone has violated board rules, please don't respond in-thread. Just report the post. Or you can PM me with any concerns, if you'd rather do that. Anyway, with TIHWR recurrent on the country charts, I am going to lock this thread to avoid further derailment. If you'd like to discuss this song's run at Pop radio, there is a thread for it in the Pop/CHR forum ( here).
