Beautiful single cover! <3
And the description of the song has me very excited. It sounds like it's going to be a really clever lyric and thematically not quite what I expected given the title.

Love the single cover and I'm really, really looking forward to this. We need a good, well-written hit on Country radio, as well as a female-driven one.

Miranda said of the single: “‘Automatic’ is a song about the good life. It’s about slowing down, taking a breath and remembering what it’s like to live life a little more simply. It’s not about going back, but reminiscing about what it was like to hang laundry on the line and wait for it to dry and my dad teaching me how to drive my ’55 Chevy that I still have but don’t drive nearly enough. The song brings back good memories and it reminds me to take a deep breath and to remember that getting there is half the fun.” I liked what she said here!! I'm all about the good life!! I miss those days! Looking forward to this based on her comments. I love a good nostalgia song.

How can I resize that so I can add it to the first post? When you post, move over into "BBCode" mode. The code says width="300" and height="300", and you can change those. What size are you wanting?

Sounds like a clear channel deal is on tap for Wednesday starting at 6:30 am. It's annoying that they insist on doing these deals. But, on the bright side, I'm really happy that we'll get to hear this song so soon. I wasn't expecting it to be here already. This is probably my most anticipated out of the big singles that are coming up.

Thank you @dawson. I figured it out. :) carriekins and sabre14 - On February 5, this will be the 5th song to get a Clear Channel debut this year. Eric Church, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Hunter Hayes and Miranda Lambert. Of all these deals, Tim McGraw is the only one to not have a ridiculous high debut and hangover after being on the chart for the first week.

That's what I thought, if it had a deal then it would've exploded into the top 50 on the day after it's premiere.

Because thinking about it...I can't think of any songs off the top of my head that had a deal that hit #1, but then again when certain artists don't have singles out I stop watching the charts.

I know Jason Aldean's "Take a Little Ride" hit #1 and I believe that was one of the earlier Clear Channel deals? Also I would assume that Blake and Luke both had clear channel deals with "Sure Be Cool" and "Crash My Party" but maybe they didn't for some reason. But there definitely have been quite a few flops with the deal - "Feels Like a Rockstar", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", "True Believers", "The Outsiders", and whatever that Big & Rich song was. But in Clear Channel's defense, all of those were atrocious songs that shouldn't have been hits anyway.

Now "Crash My Party" and "Sure Be Cool If You Did" did not get Clear Channel treatment but "That's My Kind Of Night" did, and Blake's "Boys 'Round Here" got treatment and did make it to #1 while Luke's "TMKON" peaked at #2 for Billboard Country Airplay while #1 for 12 weeks on Hot Country Songs. He did make it to #1 for Mediabase though.

I really like this song. It's on repeat! It's well-written and very relatable. Automatic deserves to be no. 1!

I quite like it.
And is it sad (and appropriate) that I had to think a second about what she meant by "take a picture...that you had to shake"? :)

Not what I expected but I still like it! Same. I expected an uptempo song. I like this, but I also don't hear any growth and I hope the album does show that she has grown, sonically.

I like it quite a bit. I'm curious to see how this does - it will probably go over a lot of listener's heads. Maybe that's what she wanted. Then again, there are going to be a lot of people who agree wholeheartedly with what she's saying here.
Interesting choice for a lead single, but nice to hear some good substance.

It's amazing, it reminded me the Miranda from "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend".

I streamed it from WWYZ's website. It started to play and I was like oh this can't be it. I was expecting something uptempo, I had pictured something similarly sounding to Mama's Broken Heart. I do however love how well this song is written and I think she did a marvelous job on this song and it's going to do well. I like it

I expect this to be a HUGE HIT for Miranda Lambert, it is so well written, and it got hit written all over it, it's catchy as heck. This could be the first #1 hit for a solo female again on Country Airplay since "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood from October 2012. I do see this being a #1 this Spring for Miranda. It's a good song.

Meh. Lyrically it's pretty good but I'm not sold on the melody or production, which don't have much personality to them. I can barely even hear Miranda's twang, which is usually pretty pronounced in her singing. I'm a little nervous for the album now.

I absolutely love it! I agree that it sounds like something from her earlier albums, and that works for me since I've always been a fan of those eras. I've been listening on repeat and I definitely think this will be a hit!! I love how simple the melody is, but how strong the lyrics are. It probably will go over the heads of a few people though, especially those who are only listening to country music to hear those "bro" songs.

The younger listening demo might not understand what she's trying to say here, or may perceive Miranda as "old" since she's singing about the "good old days" which were likely before they were born. That's not to say all will be that way - and I may be completely wrong. I'm certainly not trying to insult anyone either. I just think that a demographic that has struggled to embrace a theme like "I Hold On" (testing very well in 34+, not so well in other demos) may struggle to buy in to this as well.

I was thinking there was a different meaning to the lyrics I was missing, but what you said makes sense. Thanks!
