Okay, I mostly like the lyrics here. But I just don't get why the first line is "quarter in a payphone". It doesn't fit in thematically with the rest of the first verse, which is otherwise about things done at home. The second verse is the one more focused on communications.

The ad in country aircheck shows her looking like the fat one on the left. Is that the most recent one? The one on the left is the one after she's lost weight. And even the before picture on the right isn't that bad. She had a little more meat on her bones, by no means has she ever been fat. I think she's always looked beautiful, and now she just looks downright stunning.

She looks amazing! I think this first single is perfect and it definitely is the right choice to build hype for this album and era. Solid lyrics and I love the message.

The ad in country aircheck shows her looking like the fat one on the left. Is that the most recent one? Are you kidding me? This comes across as very rude to me. If the photo of her on the left is "fat", I would hate to see what your definition of skinny looks like. A skeleton? Miranda has always been beautiful. Sure, she is a little bit 'bigger' in that photo on the right, but she's always looked great no matter what. And if she felt like she wanted to lose a bit of weight and slim down, then good for her.

What happened to Miranda? She was quite pretty when she first came out now she gained a lot of weight and her face looks druggie. Just my opinion. Where have you been?! Miranda lost a lot of weight these past few months and recently she's all over magazines, ACMs commercials, interviews, etc. so you should have noticed. Poor girl.. people are always judging her. That's one of the reasons why she wrote "Bathroom Sink" that will be on her upcoming album. Here is Miranda's description of the song: Yeah, that's just girl problems in general. It's definitely more pressure on women, and we put so much pressure on ourselves to look a certain way, to look like other women. It's hard; some days you do feel beautiful, and then someone will knock you down with a mean comment. It's exhausting. Weight issues, fake lashes and tanning, and all the stuff that goes into just going out into public sometimes. I wish I could just not do it for a day and see what happens. [Source]The ad in country aircheck shows her looking like the fat one on the left. Is that the most recent one? To be honest, I don't know what you're talking about. Is it the "We Were Us" congratulatory ad? That's already 'fat' to you?! But anyway, nope it's not recent. This is the recent one: Miranda will always be beautiful what ever size she is. She's gorgeous, down to earth and a very talented lady. Most importantly, she inspires a lot of people.

She looked phenomenal in that creme-colored gown on Sunday evening; no doubt about. She's got plenty to be proud of for having had the dedication and self-discipline to lose so much weight. This is still on track to be one of the year's very biggest singles, and I'm looking forward a lot to her new CD.

As music fans, shouldn't the appeal be her music? Whether or not she is heavy or not...that doesn't seem to bother Blake--whom I guess is her biggest fan. Does her music sound "fat"? I agree. Can we get back to talking about Automatic? It just cracked the top ten on the airplay chart.

I say she looks better in the picture on the right, but that's just me. Good on her for losing the weight though, if she feels better about herself than that's what really matters. As for this song, I like this better than any of the singles from Four The Record. Can't wait for Platinum.

The ad in country aircheck shows her looking like the fat one on the left. Is that the most recent one? If you can't lose the weight Then you're just fat But if you lose too much Then you're on crack You're !@#$%^& if you do And you're !@#$%^& if you don't So, you might as well just do Whatever you want Someone should really write a song like that. Oh right, they did... and radio wouldn't play it. >:(

Miranda looks great; if she feels good about her body/self, that's what matters.
Although I really like "Automatic," I don't really like it as the lead single for an upcoming album. Based on the impressive list of strong writers and interesting titles, it seems like they should have had many more choices. I do enjoy " Automatic" on its own merits, and I'm so excited for this album.
For the most part, Miranda's albums are excellent, and I can't wait for the new one.

Miranda talks more about "Platinum" to Rolling Stone: www.rollingstone.com/music/news/miranda-lambert-gets-personal-on-platinum-20140403This is a cute snippet from the article: "With their strong female perspective and emotional complexity, Lambert's songs are a corrective to Nashville's proliferation of babe-and-truck jams. "What are they calling it, 'bro country'?" she says. "I love those songs, but for a minute there, it felt like girls ran the show. We have to save this thing we've made – Carrie [Underwood] and Taylor [Swift] and me."

I'm quite distracted by the chorus background vocals on that Ellen video, but she sounded great and looked gorgeous.

Sad. Thank God I decided to buy tickets to see her in June! I adore Miranda and understand that she's gotta take some time for herself though. Hopefully this means she and Blake will use this time to start a family. I think they are the cutest thing!

Sad. Thank God I decided to buy tickets to see her in June! I adore Miranda and understand that she's gotta take some time for herself though. Hopefully this means she and Blake will use this time to start a family. I think they are the cutest thing! The Taste of Country story appears to quote the same comments that this Country Weekly story reported several weeks ago. Someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the "break" to which Miranda is referring will come to an end with her upcoming tour, which means the "break" would be the one that ran from the end of her co-headlining tour with Dierks (a tour that ran from January through mid-October 2013) until the summer of this year. With Miranda on her second year of touring the same album and Dierks in between albums, their co-headlining tour underperformed sales-wise in a significant number of markets last year, although it cancelled only one date (in Salt Lake City -- the official word was that the show was "postponed" due to "scheduling conflicts," but as David Berger reported, ticket sales to the show were slow, and there was no effort to reschedule the show). It seems to me that the "break" for Miranda was probably a good strategic move pending the release of new Miranda music, and also to allow her to complete her album, have a little bit of a life, etc. It's also a luxury that comes with now being a headliner. I expect Miranda to announce another leg of her Platinum tour later this year, this time in arenas for the autumn and/or winter season. As I see this "break" (non-?) story make its way through the blogosphere with what I think are deceptive headlines, I can't help but be irritated by the lack of precision in the writing over at Taste Of Country and The Boot. Their laziness enables the tabloid-ization of their articles. I can now easily imagine new headlines springing up on disreputable sites suggesting that Miranda's touring break is in fact upcoming, and it is either because she has "BABY PLANS!!!!!!" or because her marriage with Blake is "IN CRISIS!!!!!" If my interpretation of this story is correct, then a little due diligence on the timing of this break and a headline reflecting the idea that Miranda is nervous/excited/refreshed that her touring break is coming to an end could easily avoid feeding into fake tabloid narratives.

This has a very nice jump to a new peak of #41 on the Hot 100, just outside the Top 40 now, also allowing it to break the Top 10 on the 'mongrel chart' as well.

tinyurl.com/m3wprrkMiranda Lambert Looks Better Than Ever! See the Country Music Star's Amazing Physical Transformation Is it just me, or are a few of the ladies of country trying to tone , trim and glam up a la Carrie Underwood. It's like looking at an imitations of CU.. Facial structure is different but everything else is very similar. I think Miranda's new look is flattering and healthier in the long run. JMO

Since she's very likely to pass the plunging Eric Church today or tomorrow, she should not only finish the week at #5 at Mediabase, but will undoubtedly wind up with the biggest single of the year by a female for the second straight year, having done likewise last year with 'Mama's Broken Heart'.
As one of only a handful of songs currently in the top 40 that I can actually tolerate, I'm really looking forward to seeing this mesmerizing tune reach #1 next month, with the four-year anniversary of the downright wonderful 'The House That Built Me' reaching #1 for a 4-week stay fast approaching three weeks from today on May 30th.

ugh this song is so good. I really don't think anything on the charts right now can compare, although I do love Eric's GMBMHT. Also excited for the 2nd single with Carrie! :)

I think this song falls slightly short of greatness. As I said, it bugs me that "quarter in a payphone" is the first line when it otherwise has nothing to do with the first verse — the SECOND verse is the one dealing with means of communication.
Also, this isn't nearly as badly brickwalled as some of Frank Liddell's other production jobs, but I still think the production is a bit overdone.

Will this peak at #2? I think country radio is salivating at the opportunity to play the new Carrie/Miranda duet ASAP (likely next Monday - after the BB Music Awards). This might be a "My Kinda Party"/"Don't You Wanna Stay" chart situation.

I sure hope it doesn't peak at #2. This is my favourite country hit of the year. I think it stands a pretty good chance of hitting #1 after Luke Bryan, so I'll be disappointed if it falls short.

This might be a "My Kinda Party"/"Don't You Wanna Stay" chart situation. I hope not. RCA would be wise to get Automatic to #1 then let Something Bad be released. I sure hope it doesn't peak at #2. How many weeks do you think Luke Bryan will have between his duet with Florida Georgia Line and his solo record?
