The above image is an image I created. There is not an official single image yet. You should get hired and make official single covers. That's great and a lot better then some "official" ones out there. I've certainly made my services available to labels big and small. lol. Quite a few of my 'designs' end up on other sites or even in wikipedia instead of the generic ones that sometimes come out (specifically for UMG ones which use "CD PRO" style text 'singles'.

tasteofcountry.com/darius-rucker-miss-you/I think that might be the official single cover, if it is, that's a shame, when you're able to throw a pretty cool one together like this. I actually think this is a good choice as the next single. I like the song quite a bit and (imo) anything would be better than Radio. I couldn't bare to even listen to that song. As a whole, this album is pretty weak compared to his first two. I generally liked most all the songs on his first two albums, but this one I'm split down the middle.

That image is one of the generic CD PRO images that rsmatto was referring to in his last post. Sometimes the UMG labels do that. They could still come with an official single cover at some point, but that's not a given. As for "Miss You", I think it's a pretty solid choice as well, and I definitely like it a lot more than I liked "Radio" (which was hardly at all). I'd like to see it go at least top 10.

My bad, I remembered In Color and a couple other singles having that cover and assumed...Ah we all know what happens when one "assumes". Thanks for the clarification.
The repetition of "Radio, radio, radio..." was a big deterrent for me.

The repetition of "Radio, radio, radio..." was a big deterrent for me. No worries! The generic "CD PRO" image is basically just what a label will put out when they haven't actually made an original cover. Sometimes they wind up making a cover, but usually if you see CD PRO, more often than not we won't get an actual 'official' single cover from the label. Matt's is a good one, though :) Oh and btw, welcome to the board! :)

Still working out some of the kinks, but happy to be aboard the board (bad cheesey-ness, but I had to).

This seems more like an album track to me. The verses and chorus just don't seem too memorable or 'catchy.' I also remember how radio rejected "Your Side of the Bed," which was about this same theme, only it had great sales, a unique melody and vocals, and much more catchy lines. I can definitely see "Miss You" getting lost in the shuffle and majorly under-performing for Darius Rucker. As of right now, I might go with a prediction that this will peak around #20-#15.

Always been a big Darius fan since his switch to country radio and love this song a lot. Hope this does well for him.

My thoughts exactly. The underperforning YSOTB immediately came to mind, and this also might just not be right for radio. I'm not sure Darius had any better choices off this relatively weak album though. I think this'll just miss the top ten.

I echo this sentiment. I think we might see a "I Got Nothin" type run with "Miss You". The chorus while not boring, seems like it lacks a catchy melody and hook. The song just doesn't seem memorable in any way except for the usual good vocals from Darius. I like the fact it's a little more upbeat than I would have thought judging by the title, but I personally might have left this as a album track. Top 20 is my prediction, which is actually what "True Believers" ended up doing.

I think this is definitely the best choice from what's left of the album. I just think Radio was a horrible choice after the massive success he had with Wagon Wheel. The timing was perfect for something more slow-tempo/ballad (like this one), I know Radio was chosen for various reasons ("radio" being in title, summer-feel to the song), but at a time when there was not very much deeper songs on the radio and with the popularity wave he was riding, I think this song would have been a big hit. I feel up-tempo should be followed by slow and slow by up-tempo...allows listeners to not feel like songs are fading into each other. (Though I doubt anyone would confuse Wagon Wheel and Radio, ever.)
Still, I really like Darius and hope it's a hit for him.

^That's what I figured judging by the comments I've read on Pulse and the songs I've heard off the album. I just don't see the point in going four singles deep when there's no radio-friendly material left. It kind of seems like Darius has about as much momentum as Easton Corbin and Chris Young did after AOTR and "Radio" respectively. It might have been better for Darius to just take a break for a few months. I guess the logic was that the album has been out for less than a year, so it's possible that one more single could give album sales a nice boost for a month or so.

My favorite part of this thread is that half the discussion has been over the single cover lol Yep. As I proved, it wasn't difficult to create a cover (if one has a few minutes and an eye for Text and photo effects) but of all the labels, UMG seems to worry the least about such things. "Cop Car" for Keith Urban only had one because of Country AirCheck weekly (I made that one that's on that thread from the AirCheck Weekly pdf). Most the other labels do create 'official single art'.

That's what I said a long time ago. When "Radio" peaks, just take some off and come back with more momentum with a lead single and new album. I actually think he'll have another Top 10/Top 5 hit with this and that this one will outsell "Radio."

I don't see how this will actually do much better than "True Believers" performed. It will certainly have more longevity, but he has no momentum once again and this is so unmemorable and mediocre. A touch better than the lead single in terms of quality. The good choices were "Heartbreak Road" or maybe one of the duets preferably the Sheryl Crow one. At least, it's not "Lie to Me" as it was rumored for the 3rd single.

This song is pretty good, but I agree with those that say they don't do expect this to do much better than True Believers. I've never been a Darius fan, especially his country work, but I do like this album and have been considering purchasing it for quite a while now.

I've always felt I was in the minority opinion on "True Believers." I really, really liked it. The video also helped give me a different perspective of the song. It always put me in a good mood when I heard it on the radio especially when radio was obviously laking good quality songs at the time. I kept thinking at the time this song was just getting overshadowed because he wasn't singing about a truck, tailgates, pretty girls and beer.
Not quite sure yet how this will fare on the charts, but I think overall any Darius tune is safe at radio. He just has that voice that stands out above anyone else. This should likely go top 15 if not top 10.

True Believers disappointed me. To me it was one of the best songs on the album besides Wagon Wheel and it failed to go go Top 10 which is here it should have went in my opinion. Miss You is one of the better songs on the album. I personally would've released Lost In You or I Will Love You Still as the 4th single. I could see Miss You being a Top 20 single at best.

I quite enjoy this. His vocal performance on this is superb and there's some really nice production elements on this, although there's some quirk to it all the same. The lyrics are fine but it's really his voice that elevates this to the next level -- he really knocks this one out.

Melody could be better, but this is still solid, and miles better than "Radio".

I went back and revisited this and I do enjoy the production and instrumentation of this. Lyrics aren't spectacular, but I enjoy it much more than "Radio" and "True Believers". I think this could at least be another top 10 for him.

While this album is not my favorite of the three, I do really like it. I think this could be a surprise hit. There is just something about it that makes me think it will get fairly high on the charts. From what I hear, this will be the last single and I keep hearing him say that something more traditional will be coming from his next album. I know this will make a lot of you happy. I for one am looking forward to a Hootie reunion.

Looks to me like this one is really struggling to take off. I'm surprised it isn't doing better than it is.

I saw something earlier this week on Twitter that suggested Capitol has pulled support for it.

Two words... "Heartbreak Road".
Of course, one has to wonder if they'll even go with something else from this album since "Miss You" was the fourth single released.

I saw something earlier this week on Twitter that suggested Capitol has pulled support for it. Maybe they are doing what they did for "Bourbon in Kentucky." Since it's obviously going to peak really low on the charts, they could have decided to just pull it quickly and hope everyone will just forget about it so Darius won't lose all his momentum. But, as we saw with Dierks, that approach still didn't work too well and "I Hold On" had to take approx. 30 weeks to climb the charts.
