I saw something earlier this week on Twitter that suggested Capitol has pulled support for it. That would make sense given how it's been charting. Still thought it could've been another decent Top 20 hit for him though at least, but oh well. Two words... "Heartbreak Road". I actually heard that on the radio at a store a few weeks ago. It definitely should've been a single over this, even though I enjoy this one as well.

When I heard Darius preview the album last year on The Higway, I thought for sure "Heartbreak Road" would be a single. "Miss You" has stared to grow on me a little so it's unfortunate that it's struggling but not all that of a surprise.
Still a little surprising that "Radio" was able to reach the top 5 despite poor sales and being a rather generic song IMO.

Well, this is done. Who would've thought after a huge #1 and a Top 5, he'd miss the 40 entirely.

Shocked this is done. Song is good compared to other garbage on radio. They really missed the chance to release "lost in you". It was up against radio to be single #2. Darius even tweeted lost in you before radio was released. Hopefully he can get momentum with lead single from next album. The format needs him

Well, this was pulled because it wasn't faring as well as Capitol wanted it to be. Very disappointing that Darius' momentum halts in it's tracks. Will be interesting to see how his next project turns out.
I still believe that "Heartbreak Road" was a missed opportunity.

He had the biggest hit of his career with "Wagon Wheel." I think he'll be fine. His momentum hasn't 'stalled' as much as we may make it out to be. Perhaps the new stuff he's been recording is so good that they decided not to wait til fall for it and to get it out sooner. That makes a world of sense to me.

"Miss You" never even really got its feet off the ground. I don't doubt his next project will be very good (cause it always is), but it was pretty evident that "Miss You" wasn't going to be a high peaking single like "Radio" was. "Radio" was successful because of the monster wave that was brought on by "Wagon Wheel". Unfortunately this time his song to me just got lost in the shuffle. I wouldn't rule out them pulling this in favor of material they couldn't bare to sit on, but I feel this was more about this particular singles under performing rather than new material waiting in the wings. Perhaps though, the new music helped make the decision easier to pull the plug on this.

This was never going to be a hit. "Lost In You" is much better but that wouldn't have done anything either. The album has been out a while and when radio plays Darius, they are going to play "Wagon Wheel" and some of his bigger hits from a few years back. "Miss You" is decent, sure, but there was just no way it was going to be a hit. I am not surprised at all.
"Radio" was hardly what I would call a hit, even though it went top 5. It never really permeated any platforms other than radio, and the only reason it did decently well was because it was following up WW and also because it glorified radio. People weren't buying the song, people weren't streaming it. It's one of those songs that's faded from most people's memories pretty quickly.
"Wagon Wheel" was huge and it continues to get a lot of airplay. That's the song that PD's will insert into their playlists when they're looking for 'new' Darius Rucker music, and it will continue to be that way until he releases a lead single.
