Only eleven years into their career and Big & Rich score their second top ten. Could have been their third if Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy had not peaked at #11. Could a label change mean they could be consistent with hits? Only time will tell.

There was just a log jam of songs on Billboard that refused to go recurrent.

Big & Rich are at number 9 this week!! It's been years since the last time they had a top 10 single. How many exactly?

Wow! That's such a long time ago. That's also the year the last female duo had a top 10 hit before Maddie & Tae. The Wreckers charted at number 9 with "My, Oh My".

Happy these guys got back into the Top 10. This is New Revolution's best performance on a single since what? "Moments"?

This might get my vote for best promotion on a single this year. New Revolution did a great job. Before this was released, I thought a simple top 40 would be the most likely scenario. Glad I was wrong.

What it really does is prove that if you can afford to pay for it, you can get a song radio likes into the Top 10 by using New Revolution, a boutique many thought could only get songs into the Top 20 (which is still nothing to sneeze at).

While the promotion team has certainly done a great job, I have to wonder if this has been a good investment for Big & Rich. They've probably spent a lot of money promoting this song and yet it doesn't seem like they're making that much in returns; the digital single is not selling all that well and the album hasn't sold much at all, either. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think it would have made much more of a difference for them if this single had peaked at #18 instead of in the top 10. And I say that because I don't expect them to suddenly start scoring hits consistently with any follow-up singles. I think this is probably more of a "once in a blue moon" type of chart run for them. Anyway, please don't mistake me: I love this song and I am very glad it has done well at radio. But in this case I guess I just don't know what they've really gained out of this, other than their 2nd career top 10 hit at radio.

Let's not forget that Big & Rich had trouble getting traction at radio when they were on Warner Bros. Nashville. After the success of "Save A Horse", they got two top 20's with "Holy Water" and "Big Time", which made little impact other than the fairly short chart runs. Then they barely cracked the top 15 (MB) with "8th Of November" on their second album after the first single went top 20 on R&R, and "Never Mind Me" fell short of the top 30. And of course them completely flaming out after "Lost In This Moment" as "Between Raising Hell And Amazing Grace" and "Loud" did next to nothing, as did "Party Like Cowboyz", and "Cheat On You" after "That's Why I Pray" fell short of the top 10. I do expect reality to set back in with the second single. Though the fact that Tim McGraw is featured on it along with some momentum, perhaps a run at the top 30. Either way, I concur with jhomes87 that "Look At You" is a one off scenario.

^ Why did their songs keep dying out so fast anyway? I thought for sure Holy Water was shaping up to be a huge hit, but once it hit #15 it turned right back around. Same thing with Big Time.

"Big Time" is the one I always go back to for this. It spent only 13 bulleted weeks on R&R before falling, peaking at #16 (#20 on Billboard). It took just 9 weeks to crack the top 20 too. I thought it was a shoe in for a top 10 finish at worst. Just strange. "Holy Water" spent just 15 bulleted weeks on R&R. Peaked at #12 (#15 on Billboard).

jhomes87 One thing I think they might have gained is with the new found exposure on radio, they might be able to get a better touring slot on someone else's tour (I could see them opening up for Tim McGraw or somebody) or possibly even getting better venues for themselves. This is pure speculation, but the bulk of money an artist makes nowadays is from touring, so that might be the angle they're are trying to take here, just keep their name relevant and out there for ticket sales. I admit though that I was too lazy to look up their touring schedule though to confirm.

^ Kenny and John opened for Tim back in 2004 when they first came out actually. I think Big & Rich's days of opening on major tours is all but over. They usually give those slots to newcomers or relatively newer artists who are on either major labels or well established independent labels (BBR).
I'm actually going to see Big & Rich at the Seneca Niagara Casino on the 29th of November. I saw them last year at the Allegany Casino last October as well. That's the kind of venues that Big & Rich are doing now and days and the success of "Look At You" will likely not change that.

Even though this is only their second Top 10 to date, it's still far from one of their biggest hits in terms of impact, and I agree with jhomes87 that this is definitely not a sign that Big & Rich is going to make a big comeback now. Maybe they'll get another Top 20 hit with the follow-up, but even that would be shooting pretty high for them, imo.

They can collect more $$'than if it was "just" a top20.

Saw where this is #7 on MB and I gotta say I'm very excited to see that. I know it's been a long time on the charts but I'd like to see this hit TOp 5 at least. One of the more deserving songs of this year to be Top 5.

Their next single will be Lovin' Lately. They announced it at the concert I was at last night.

At least from what I see now, this is looking to have a decent chance at top 5. Which I'd enjoy seeing, both for liking the song, and that it's not one of the same old or predictable entries at the top of the chart.

This will probably peak at about #4. As we've already discussed, New Revolution has done a good job working this to radio and radio seems to have a lot of support for it, but the digital sales are just way too low for this to be a #1 single. However, I have heard "Lovin' Lately," which actually sounds like a single that might have a decent shot at the top 20 on the charts, so maybe Big & Rich isn't quite done with radio success.

I'm predicting three more bulleted chart weeks for this single. Big & Rich cohost Country Countdown USA November 29-30, so the single will probably get a final top 5 push the following week.

Yeah, I thought this might die by the time New Revolution got this top 10 but now it's obvious that they are trying to stay alive til the end of the year. Their bullet will be gone by the last chart week issue but "Look At You" should stay on the charts til that final real chart week before the Christmas shutdown. Then they can released "Lovin' Lately" at the start of 2015 which would definitely work out the best. I'm still amazed how well this did. I don't think Kenny and John can get anymore top 10 or even top 20 hits off this album but just the fact that New Revolution did so well with "Look At You" and radio was open armed enough is encouraging.

I don't think many (including myself) realistically saw this reaching the top 30 and to see it now making a push at the top 5 is incredible. Great job to all involved in pushing this up the charts.

See, I think they CAN get at least another Top 20 off of the Gravity project. I mean, why not? If they spent the time and $$ to promote this (and lets not forget that smaller sales for an indie artist like B&R along with royalties for co-writing the single will help offset the cost of promoting it). This song was about their touring strength. Its a marketing tool for that and will ensure at least 3 more years of being able to tour headlining gigs at mid-level venues. That makes this money well spent.
