My issue with the believability of the lyrics is that we are expected to believe that this girl heard a song that she liked on the radio, and so she sat there all night waiting for it to come back on. Why didn't she just Shazam it and look it up on YouTube? (Oh, and even if she didn't do that, this is modern day country radio we're talking about...we all know that the song would have come back on in the next 75-90 minutes ;)). I actually don't mind the song though. It wasn't my choice for the single (that would have been "We Run This Town"), but the melody of "Play It Again" is infectious. I have no doubt that it will shoot right to the top of the charts. Country radio loves playing songs about itself. I just wish that the lyrics weren't so contrived, but overall it's not bad. That's not have I understand the lyrics. This is how I take it. This is just a hypothetical situation, FYI. You're 18 and you have a few weeks left of school before you graduate. You're driving your friends around town and soaking up the first few warms days of the spring. Your windows are down, you're with your four best friends and all of a sudden that one song you all love comes on. It doesn't matter that you all have it on your iPhones/iPods. It's on the radio right now and that is all that matters. You hear the first couple notes and everyone simultaneously screams, "THIS IS MY SONG!" That is how I take it. I don't take it as someone who doesn't know the song. They know it but they still love it and can still jam to it. And Sabre (sorry about Ryan Miller, btw) usually I agree with you but I don't think they mean falling in love like "I'm going to marry you" in love. It's like, you meet a girl and she's a 90s country music fan and loves hockey. Your initial thought is like, "OMG I can fall in love with this girl!" Perhaps, but to me in this situation, it makes me go "come on, really". I do understand it's a song and the point of it is to enjoy it and many certainly do. I'm not too far removed from those days being 24 years old. Just last spring I had many great memories with meeting girls and hanging with friends. Unfortunately, that particular situation never happened ;) And yes, for those of you who don't follow the NHL (Which is probably 95% of the posters here), my favorite Sabre Ryan Miller was traded yesterday. Sad to see him go, but the Sabres are rebuilding and it was time to move on. :'( Good luck to Ryan in St.Louis :)

Actually, I don't think this is that good; the lyrics are a major cheese-fest to me and I've heard much catchier and flavorful melodies than this one. Luke's got a great voice, but I'm definitely still straying away from country radio - heck, radio in general - with uninspiring, cookie-cutter stuff like this flooding our airwaves week by week.
Regardless of my opinion, along with several others here, this will indubitably become another huge #1 for him. It may even, dare I say, perform better than DAB.

This will be going for adds on March 24. I don't think this song is terrible, but it just doesn't work for me. It's way too corny. Plus, the lines just don't seem to gel together very well at all. I know not everything has to rhyme, but the 4th line of the first verse just sounds very jarring. She was sittin' all alone over on the tailgate Tan legs swingin' by a Georgia plate I was lookin' for her boyfriend Thinkin', no way she ain't got oneIt just seems to come out of nowhere, and then it kinda cuts off weird. The word "one" doesn't fit with anything else in the entire verse. Anyway, it's not like we've had a ton of songs about good looking girls, their tan legs, Georgia tailgates, etc. Oh wait... The third line of the chorus really sounds jarring too...the "and here it is" just comes out of nowhere and doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the lyrics and melody at all. She was like, oh my God, this is my song I've been listenin' to the radio all night long Sittin' 'round waitin' for it to come on and here it isAll in all, most of the song's lyrics just seem really incoherent and jumbled together. It reads to me as if the songwriters just had a few lines jotted down and then they tried to fit them all together. "Play It Again" will be a really big hit, though. I have no doubt about that. It will be everywhere this summer, the chorus in particular.

This song's ok, but slightly mediocre for a single. Drink a Beer grew on me a TON, but I don't know that this one will. I'm thinking the chances of Roller Coaster getting released are looking slimmer and slimmer. I think Beer in the Headlights and We Run This Town could be big. Of course, whatever he releases will go #1, b/c that's how country works...

Mocked some cover art for this: I like this song well enough and know this is going to sell really well but I'd have personally liked "I See You" instead of this.

Yes - "I See You" for next single or bust!! It was supposed to be the 1st single but they ended up choosing "Crash My Party" instead. Shocking that it's not even the 4th single. Hopefully it gets released at some point.

Luke filmed a new music video this week for "Roller Coaster", but not "Play It Again". Weird!

Luke filmed a new music video this week for "Roller Coaster", but not "Play It Again". Weird! Not the first time something like that has happened. Perhaps the "Play It Again" theme (which is more radio-oriented) didn't seem like a great video candidate. Official Add Date is Next Monday: March 24, 2014.

I can definitely see a video treatment being quite easy for this single, given the lyrics. There's a storyline already built-in for the song, so it shouldn't be hard at all to translate that into a video. Maybe they'll still shoot one for it later, or maybe they won't bother because a video isn't needed for the song because it'll be plenty popular and rise quickly enough without the need to have one. I also find it funny how the adds date for this isn't until next week, and yet this is already Top 30.

Spring Break 6 Like We Ain't Ever debuts at #1 country, #2 top 200 after 74,000 copies were sold. Congratulations, Luke Bryan!

Some parts sound a little like "Drunk on You", but his voice and the production are a little less harsh than he can get at times. Not groundbreaking but not bad at all. Goes down pretty smooth.

The chorus of this is literally perfect for singing along. I just love it so much. Simply infectious. Last night this came on the radio while I was with people and I was really drunk and I just sang the heck out of this in the backseat, lol.

It is conceivable that Luke Bryan will have two spots in the top ten at the same time. His duet with Florida Georgia Line, This Is How We Roll could be joined by his solo effort, Play It Again. If both hit the top, I will be able to move Bryan up from #66 to #63 with his ninth #1 (also giving F.G.L. their debut on the list at #121). Then, Play It Again could be his tenth chart topper, moving Bryan up to #60. Then, if a fifth Crash My Party single gets released or they move on to a lead single from an upcoming CD and that hits #1 (becoming chart topper #11 for Bryan), I will then move him up to #50 (Dierks Bentley will have #49 to himself today). That means Bryan could move up the list of those with the most #1s 16 spaces. Unbelievable!

Heard this for the first time last night. I have to say, this is the first Luke Bryan single in a very long time that hasn't made me want to throw up. So . . . I guess that's a compliment. The tune's not bad, and the lyrics are mostly okay. If he hadn't loaded up the first verse with all the obligatory "tanned legs" and "tailgate" references -- like he was trying to call a game of Luke Bryan Bingo -- I might have actually liked this one.

^ You didn't even like Drink a Beer? Nope. It was so generic. "You're gone, and I'm sad, so I sit on a pier and drink a beer." Oooookay. I give him credit for trying to come up with something meaningful and moving. I just didn't think he succeeded.

This song is so painfully average. Yawn. Yeah, it's certainly a catchy tune, but the lyrics just seem odd to me.

I'm kind of in the opposite boat on this one. I think it's fantastic and the best I can hope for in today's country climate. It's catchy and fun and the lyrics are a little odd, but the odd parts are direct quotes as far as I can remember. I assume the reference to the lyrics is the line "...and here it is", but it just seems to fit the song. I picture it similar to "Unusually Unusual" by Lonestar in that sense. Here's a girl who doesn't own a mp3 player of any sort, listening to the radio (circa 1998 probably), overly excited about a song coming on the radio. Luke actually does a fairly good job of expressing the joyous attitude of the couple.

Radio is eating up this song LIKE MAD right now. I just did some calculations from his 10th and his 20th day on the Mediabase chart. All I will say is he is on the MOVE and QUICKLY running down anybody that is in his way.
3/17/14- 10.575 mil in audience Day 10 on the chart Today- 3/27/14- 25.320 mil in audience Day 20 on the chart.
Song has been on the chart for ONLY 20 days and has gained over 14.745 mil in audience in just the past 10 days!!!!!! :o Already #18 on Billboard Country Airplay and now it has hit #19 as of today for Mediabase. I see this hitting #1 with the way things are going for this song as early as May. It wouldn't surprise me if this hits #1 again first on Billboard Hot Country Songs later in April and then hits #1 in late May on Billboard Country Airplay. This song is on FIRE!!! Luke is WHITE HOT right now.

It's already at #15 on the all-genre iTunes chart and it's shooting up like a rocket! Which means he has the #1 and #2 Country Songs on iTunes at this time since Florida Georgia Line with Luke is #1 while Luke is sitting with "Play It Again" at #2 and then Brantley is #3 with "Bottoms Up".

I'm so happy about Roller Coaster. So it's pretty much the next single! Unofficially, of course. Play It Again isn't really doing much for me. Neither did Crash My Party. Of course I'm still in love w/ That's My Kind of Night and Drink a Beer.

I wonder if Luke can get single #5 to #1 by the one-year anniversary of this album's release.
