She's never said she didn't like CFY, but note that she doesn't really perform the same ballads a heckuva lot of times on tour. Look at "Live to Tell," which has always been a favorite of hers- it's been on just three tours since 1987.

One thing she has said is that she doesn't really relate to the songs that she didn't write herself. It is not the only reason she doesn't perform some of her earlier songs obviously, because she wrote Borderline, Lucky Star, and Burning Up and she barely plays those...meanwhile, she didn't write Holiday and Like a Virgin and she performs the hell out of those songs. SO I guess, I really don't have a point here :)

SO I guess, I really don't have a point here :) Reggie Lucas wrote Borderline I believe there was a rumor that they both co-wrote Lucky Star and Physical Attraction, with Lucas taking full credit for PA and Madonna for LS (smart, if that's true). I think Gambler and Shoo-bee-doo are two songs she has solo writing credit on besides the tracks on the first album. Are there others? I'd be curious to know. I don't have a point here either :) On a different note, I read an interesting theory from Roger Friedman that the reason the RH album ticket bundling wasn't successful is because so many tickets were purchased for resale.

^But, some tickets for MDNA, undoubtedly, too, were purchased for resale. Also- RH didn't have the physical-copy redemption, only digital, whereas MDNA had both (with the physical redemptions outweighing the digital by a huge margin).

Is it a new footage or from the Oscars 91? It's ICONIC from the RH tour. Looks like it could be part of the opening or an interlude.

Related to the special issue of Rolling Stone, I have this book that was published in 1997. It is essentially every single interview, review, and mention of Madonna in Rolling Stone up until that point. It is a great read. "Madonna: The Ultimate Compendium of Interviews, Articles, Facts and Opinions From the Files of Rolling Stone (The Rolling Stone Files)"amzn.to/1LPjzSO

^Yes, me too. And it fills in gaps (especially for three of the 1980s interviews), as the new RS Madonna issue doesn't include every interview.
Per a poster at MNation, this is Rolling Stone's 50 Greatest Madonna Songs list. I don't agree with some songs on the list, but you'll have that. "Oh Father" is the most glaring omission among singles. And what are "Hannk Panky," "4 Minutes," "Me Against the Music" and "Bitch I'm Madonna" doing on there?
1. Like a Prayer 2. Into the Groove 3. Vogue 4. Borderline 5. Like a Virgin 6. Hung Up 7. Live to Tell 8. Ray of Light 9. Music 10. Burning Up 11. Crazy for You 12. Express Yourself 13. Material Girl 14. Promise to Try 15. Dress You Up 16. Open Your Heart 17. Justify My Love 18. Angel 19. What if Feels like for a Girl 20. Drowned World/Substitute For Love 21. Human Nature 22. Holiday 23. Who's That Girl 24. Physical Attraction 25. Where's the Party 26. Beautiful Stranger 27. Don't Tell Me 28. Cherish 29. Frozen 30. Take a Bow 31. Gambler 32. I Deserve It 33. True Blue 34. 4 Minutes 35. Lucky Star 36. Hanky Panky 37. Deeper and Deeper 38. Keep It Together 39. Bitch I'm Madonna 40. La Isla Bonita 41. Everybody 42. Bad Girl 43. Ghosttown 44. Hollywood 45. This Used To Be My Playground 46. Papa Don't Preach 47. Bedtime Story 48. Me Against The Music 49. Act Of Contrition 50. Die Another Day

Wow. there are some songs on that list I would definitely remove. Just because it was a single, doesn't mean it is one of her best songs ever. I would add in Everybody, Oh Father (personal favorite), Skin, and Sky Fits Heaven. I would remove Me Against the Music, 4 Minutes, Act of Contrition and True Blue. Also, why the heck is Papa Don't Preach sitting so low?

The Top 20 on that list is decent, but where the fuck is "Secret?" And "Papa Don't Preach" No. 46? Bitch please.

RH- "Everybody" is present.
Jeanne- if Rolling Stone's past artist issues are anything to go by, it was compiled by multiple RS writers.

That list is an abomination. LIB and PDP outside the Top 40? What kind of tomfoolery...?

There are some songs on that list that I've never even listened to. I've got some catching up to do!
(It's like RS completely forgot Confessions even existed!)

^I enjoy both very much, but neither would be in my overall top 20. Different strokes. :)
Like a lot of lists, this one surely has its curiosities. But, overall, it only adds more acclaim to her most acclaimed tracks, so it's all good. Like, she currently has 23 songs listed in the Acclaimed Music top 6,000- and they're all on the list. As are seven that are ":bubbling under." So, that's 30 tracks right there.
I am pleased that DW/SFL got a decent mention, as it's one of her best tracks and often gets overlooked as it wasn't a first or second single (or a single period in the USA).

Yea Sorry and Get Together should be near the Top 10. "Get Together" would be in my Top 20 with "Miles Away" being in there as well due to it premonitioning her marriage status at the time without an official statement.
