Madonna quoting a classic Shannon tune?! :O nice :)) What happened with her blonde look though? Wig display? I dig her curly blonde-ish look-keep it! It seems Rebel Hearts will be a song for the next album. Not too impressed with the lyrics but that was just a tiny quote so who knows about the end result...

There are so many lyrics in her songs that as a snippet or preview may seem uninteresting, but when taken in context of the full song and with the production, melody, vocals, etc., then it worked fine.

something is going to happen soon. I can feel it. That single cover is awesome. She wouldn't be promoting these things if they were to come out months from now.

Good but please please please focus and deliver a great album first.
Madonna is taking her seat in director's chair again Maria Puente, USA TODAY 6:29 p.m. EDT March 26, 2014 The singer will direct 'Ade: A Love Story.'
Madonna is getting ready to shout "Action!" again: She's going to direct her third picture.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the BBC and other media, Madonna is set to helm Ade: A Love Story, the debut novel of Rebecca Walker, daughter of Alice Walker, author of The Color Purple.
Rebecca Walker will co-produce the indie film, along with Bruce Cohen, who produced Silver Linings Playbook and American Beauty. She also is the author of a memoir, Black, White, and Jewish: Autobiography of a Shifting Self, about growing up interracial and with different religions (her father is civil rights lawyer Mel Leventhal).
Her novel tells the story of a young American student who falls in love with a young Muslim man on an idyllic island off the coast of Kenya before the clash of cultures complicates the relationship.
Madonna evidently loved the book when it was published last year. She posted a picture of the cover and the blurb, "Read this Book! An incredible journey! A Beautiful LOVE story!"
It will be Madonna's third time in the director's chair, although her previous efforts were not resounding successes. WE, in 2011, was a period retelling of the Edward VIII/Wallis Simpson imbroglio, while 2008's Filth and Wisdom was a comedy centered on roommates living desperate lives in London.
Still, she had a huge world tour last year, and was named the world's top-earning celebrity — with about $125 million —by Forbes in 2013.

I don't blame her for wanting to direct another picture. Seeing as there is considerably less interest in her film ventures compared to the music, it must be less pressure on her.
I'll wait on the album, hopefully some interesting collaborators are involved.

I really hope that she gives it her all with the upcoming era and waits to begin with a film until after the tour and every single and video is delivered. If she feels passion for the book to turn it into a film then her vision will shine no matter what. I say let her express her artistry any way she wants. She has said that she is looking for the right script by an accomplished script writer. It will take a year or more just to find and use the right adapted scrip to begin production. W.E. was a descent film with great photography, score, set design, acting, costumes and editing and many say she has the talent to direct. The script in W.E. was its biggest flaw. Maybe she will get that oscar after all this time or at least respect in the film industry. But first give us this new era with a passionate, cohesive, lyrical, melodic, and I feel will be, a groundbreaking album.

Interesting read but has M won 14 Grammys?
There’s one huge difference between Madonna and Beyoncé
By Rachael Johnson March 31, 2014 Rachael Johnson is a lawyer and journalist. Madonna is the artist every female pop performer wants to catch. Her constant revolutionizing sexiness is her brand—a form of artistic self-expression. In the 1990s, she wore the infamous Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra with the dizzying spirals to emphasize sexuality, juxtaposing it with her Catholic upbringing (all while seducing a chair) during her Blonde Ambition tour. She reportedly grossed nearly $63 million which made her most successful tour at the time. A decade later, her Confessions tour, during which she sang Live to Tell hanging from a cross, earned her $194.7 million, according to Billboard. Now it looks like Beyoncé has been studying the playbook. She wore a La Perla thong at the Grammy Awards’ audience to expose her “fatty” while performing Drunk in Love—also on a chair—as she seduced (and was seduced by) her husband Jay-Z. Perhaps her Grammy performance and this saucier new side we’re seeing is a tribute to Madge (in her fifth, self-titled album, the song and video Haunted has been compared to Madonna’s Erotica). Or maybe she understands that starting a pseudo-sexual revolution for profit is how to maintain relevance. Because sex still sells. And their businesses are booming. Forbes, for example, questioned whether Bey’s Drunk in Love performance was for record sales. The answer is, of course it was. “I started my own company,” Beyoncé told Billboard, talking about Parkwood Entertainment, which she founded in 2008. ”When I decided to manage myself it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company. I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success—you do it yourself.” But if Beyoncé is chasing a Madonna-sized brand, the question is, will she catch her? It won’t be easy. After decades in the business, Madonna is the top-selling female singles artist of all time. At 55, she has sold more than 300 million records worldwide, she has made hundreds of millions on touring alone; she’s won 14 Grammy Awards from 26 nominations. Billboard ranked her second only behind The Beatles in its latest “Hot 100 Top Artists” list, making her the most successful solo artist in the history of the American singles chart. Just last year, Madonna topped Forbes’ list of celebrities making more than $125 million, and despite her MDNA album flopping, her tour grossed $305 million. Beyoncé, 32, has been a solo artist since breaking from Destiny’s Child in 2005, and as a solo artist she has sold more than 118 million records and won nine Grammy Awards from 25 nominations in just nine years. In 2009, Billboard named her the Top Female Artist of the 2000s and she was its Artist of the Millennium in 2011. Forbes recorded Beyoncé’s earnings at $53 million last year. Her latest tour, the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, consisted of 132 performances and had raked in $183 million as of March 12. “Beyoncé has an amazing amount of control over her persona and what she puts out to the world. You never know if there are people behind the scenes who help put herself out,” says Kevin Allred, a professor at Rutgers University, who established a class on race, gender and sexual politics called “Politicizing Beyoncé.” But in some ways Beyoncé’s perfection is an Achilles heel. To revolutionize the music business, playing in the fast lane, being better than everyone, isn’t enough because everything changes in the blink of an eye. Artists must reinvent their brands to stay on top or they will be left behind. That is something Madonna knows well. Recently, she shared a picture on Instagram of her hairy armpit. She wrote, “Long hair…… Don’t Care!!!!!!#artforfreedom#rebelheart#revolutionoflove.” But as one writer observed, Beyoncé will not allow herself that kind of freedom—she is always completely in control, flawless. “Beyoncé has quite possibly never seen a single unflattering image of herself in any medium,” wrote Esther Zuckerman of The Wire about Beyoncé’s documentary. “She looks stunning when recording close-ups of herself in bad lighting. She looks stunning when she’s going into labor. Watching her perform flawlessly is a thrill. Watching her go through hard times without a hair out of place just makes you feel bad about yourself.” Beyoncé is a boss, a hardworking, ambitious one. But bosses are not good at making revolutions: if Bey wants to start one—and a feminist one—wage war or put fake hair under her arm and Instagram it. She can get away with it. But until she understands this, she won’t catch Madonna, let alone overtake her—she’ll just continue to play in the fast lane.

Madonna has won 7 Grammys, not 14...B has 17 i think,....mostly because of her being able to be in the r+b and pop categories and group categories with Destiny's Child... It was harder for Madonna to win in the 80s and 90s because she was limited to just the pop categories there was no dance categories or best pop album or best electronic album years ago. But the statement stands true that every female pop artist is chasing madonnas records and sales and popularity and what the queen has done for the world of music. Beyoncé is probably the closest thing to Madonna you can get right now, but her like every other female artist out there young or old will ever be ever to replicate what Madonna has done in music history like I said before ,when the book is written Madonna will go down as the greatest female artist of all time and she is already according to every media outlet out there, trust me that debate has been over for a long time.

Plus, as we know, M certainly didn't fit the kind of act, image-wise, the Grammys liked to award and even nominate in the big categories, i nthe 80s and early 90s.
