Would not have been my choice, but the album is excellent so I am glad we are getting a fourth single.
See no reason why this won't be another top 5 for them.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not the biggest fan of Pioneer. To be honest I've never been a big fan of The Band Perry's music. Some of their previous singles go down in my book as annoying ("Hip To My Heart", "You Lie", "Postcard From Paris"). "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" and "If I Die Young" are head and shoulders my favorite songs from them.
I'm not that into "Chainsaw" either. I do think they picked the correct first three singles and the correct order as well. But I'm just relieved it wasn't "Forever Mine Nevermind". I have no idea what I'm missing with that song cause I know many on this board like it, but that would have been an instant station changer. So all in all I guess I'm pleased with this single choice. But again this is not exactly a favorite either.

Love this song and it's a perfect single choice. I originally wanted the title track next, but after seeing how DLBL didn't sell the way the first two singles did, I'm glad they picked something like this to hopefully interject some hype back into the Pioneer era. Quite the crafty song lyrically and thematically, and the vocal performance and country instrumentation on "Chainsaw" are very enjoyable. Should be another big hit for them, hopefully another No. 1.

Eh, it's ok. I adored 'Pioneer' and this should be a big hit but it's not my fave.

This grew on me after seeing it live. I would've preferred "I'm A Keeper" though.

This is a good choice I feel. I believe this was the best choice left on the regular album (though I like Once Upon A Time on the deluxe album better). I like the previous 3 singles better then this though, but I don't think there is anything better left on the album.

Back To Me Without You would have been my choice. But this one's one of my favorite off the album. It's got that quirky vibe to it, which is what I loved about most of their past singles.

Love this one, and I always pictured it being a great single choice. I can definitely see this doing well for them. Would love to see "Pioneer" get a single release next if they go five deep.

Heard Matt Ramsey sing this last night with his band Old Dominion (they also sang "Better Dig Two," a song which band member Trever Rosen wrote). This was also supposed to be the third single, actually. Then they got 'scared' (does BMLG get scared, really?) and released "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" instead. "Chainsaw" will be a huge hit and likely hit Platinum.

It makes more sense to release this fourth, because "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" served as a nice segue-way between this one and "Done." which would've sounded a little samey if released back-to-back, imo. Hopefully the fifth single is the title track and then all of my very favorites from Pioneer will have been released to radio.

I was really hoping for "Pioneer" to be the next single. I was absolutely blown away by it when I heard them perform it live. It needs to be a single after this!
As for this one, I love it too. Should do great for them.

I would've preferred "I'm A Keeper" though. So would I. I didn't expect it to happen, though. I think it's one of the best songs on the album, but probably not single material, unfortunately.

When I hear "I'm a Keeper" the first thing that comes in my mind is Shania. That song sounds so Shania-esque. That is a good thing but I don't know how that style would do on today's radio.

I agree with "I'm a keeper" sounding like a Shania song. It has something to do with the lyrics. Especially on the "Up!" album, Shania has resorted to very juvenile rhyming schemes.

This group is very talented, but my beef with them is recording songs where Kimberly screams/yells lyrics. Thus why I can't tolerate listening to songs such as Done.

Chainsaw has gotten great fan reaction among the concert crowd, and tests well especially with the female audience who related to the lyrical message of "You Lie." Chainsaw has a similar sentiment in the lyrics, and any gal who has ever had it in for a guy has a good shot at loving this song.

I like this, but I was hoping for "Forever Mine Nevermind". This should be another top 10 for them, though I don't know if they have the momentum to take this all the way to #1 right now.

"Forever Mine Nevermind" is a song that would work better on pop/AC than country anyway. I'm surprised they aren't trying dual releases.

I don't think this song's release was a terrific idea. TBP has had two #1's and a #2 off this album, but I feel like their momentum has quickly waned and I see how much trouble solid B-listers have been having moving up the charts lately. Going four singles deep with a song that might kind of stick out too much on the radio just seems risky. I guess Republic felt they had to release a second single since the album was released less than a year ago, although I'm predicting this will be about a 20-week climb to #15.

I liked this when "Pioneer" came out, but I'm not the biggest fan as of now. It's a fun song, but I wish it was more developed lyrically, and I'm not crazy about the vocal delivery. It should do well for them, though.

Got to say with The Band Perry's sound already on the decline for me, this song does nothing to move that needle. Pioneer was such a disappointment ("Don't Let Me Be Lonely" standing out as my favorite single). I actually dislike this song more than some of the bro-country one's out there. This should have remained an album cut. As churchchoir said above, this will likely see a slow climb into the top 20 (if that) and then stall.

...I dunno. I like the melody of this, but I feel like the chorus falls flat - it makes me look forward to building to a strong climax, instead ending with a "thud" with the line, "and I'm sittin' on a stump".
