A real diva gets multi uses out of her dresses. Of course Mimi would swim with her dress and shades on but then again she ain't like you. She can do whatever she wants

Also, I never realized how horrible tacky and cheap the AAO(TALAMN) feat Westlife video is. It looks like it was filmed by a porn production company.

I can handle a tacky remix video, not her first but really hearing those twinks irritates me. I wasn't even a fan of her solo cover but the addition of the twinks, is just a NO.
Whatever i guess it went big in the UK but that is not usually her M.O to take someone hot and tack on her song to go huge, that is someone elses style. Mariah is usually about making features and duets about music and not forced. She did slip up quite a bit on that album so i give her a era fail and move on. The entire Rainbow era to me was tacky sans Heartbreaker.

Recently rediscovered Memoirs and I'm in so much love. I didn't give the album a fair enough shot when it was released. Shame on me because it's brilliant. "More Than Just Friends" is EVERYTHING! "Angel's Cry" >>>>>>> It's official. It's my favorite album from her's since 2000s. It's my most played album and according to Last.fm I've played MOAIA 1.2k times with Bionic at 848! My Queens!

Mariah only version of Angels Cry. I like Neyo on his song but he ruined Angels Cry imo and its hard to ruin that particular song to start with.

I had never seen the "AAO" video with Westlife. Hilarious.

2000's Mariah is split down the middle for me. TEOM/MOAI/ELUSIVE are amazing, while the others can catch fire!

I love Mariah's version of "Against All Odds." Seeing the video today made me realize how great the Rainbow Tour was. We need that DVD that never came out. >:(

Speaking of 2000's Mariah, I forgot how epic "Never Too Far" was. :'(

TEOM/E=MC2 are the top, followed by MOAIA and Glitter close behind, then MIAM and then Charmbracelet is literally being used as a coaster somewhere.

I'm so curious to know what's next for Mariah... in terms of her recording career I mean. Yes, there's her guest on Empire, the Christmas movie, the Beacon shows coming up next and her Vegas residency resuming in February (which from what she hinted recently is going to be Valentine's Day themed - or at least that's what I got), and that's all fine and dandy, but I'm here for new music most of all.
I assumed that when she signed a new deal with a major label like Epic she would jump right into the studio — meaning they'd demand a new album from her fairly soon, as opposed to allowing her to take forever to put one out like the last time — but it doesn't seem to be the case based on what L.A. Reid said.
And if that crap of a single she released with the new #1's album is anything to go by, it seems they have her on the loose or something. I mean, I can't fathom how any even-keeled label executive greenlit "Infinity" to come out (let alone that abomination of a remix). I almost get the feeling she's got relatively full freedom. Well, that or they hardly care about her on that label.
I'm kind of rambling right now, but IDK... this current phase of hers is, for me, her most dull to date.

Well, damn, excuse her for putting on one of her most successful touring ventures she has ever had......excuse her for completely redeeming herself of the public's perception of the state and quality of her vocal abilities....excuse her for avoiding almost any shed of negative light about how she has committed to this residency.... excuse her and her PR team for focusing on keeping her relevant while in between albums (a spot on Empire, Hollywood Star, a Christmas project, magazine photo shoots).
Despite a fairly quiet effort in the studio (plus a dud remix), I think Mariah is doing a good job repositioning herself in the public's good graces so that she can sell some damn albums when it's ready.

Mariah is not trying to get hits anymore so I think we all need to readjust. I personally tend to like her music that happens to "hit" rather than not (i.e. I only liked a few MIAM tracks, and enjoyed her more commerical efforts of the 90s/00s), but also live for some of her flops (Angels Cry and most of Glitter come to mind). So we'll see how I'm into whatever new music we eventually get, but I definitely don't have any expectations for chart success, even moderately so.

I'm just surprised Mariah is on vacation again. I would think there would be a lot to do with this Christmas movie (and Xmas concerts) less than four months away.

It shouldn't take more than a few weeks to put together the Christmas show. She probably won't start rehearsing until late Oct.

Why did they spend the money on the "Infinity" remix only not to release it??? Did she really record it recently or was it really recorded closer to the release of the single and we just didn't know? The whole thing is a little confusing?

At this point in her illustrious career, I'm not quite sure why anyone would be shocked or surprised at the fact that she does what she wants, when she wants, for better or worse. The best thing is I have a life of my own so I don't really care when she comes or goes.

I think as Mariah fans we should be thrilled and feel lucky that she is constantly giving us things to be excited about. She has never pulled a Janet and disappeared for years, and I don't think she ever will- she loves making music too much.
I have a feeling she'll slowly record songs at her own pace and we'll get a new album sometime in 2017. Until then, we have plenty of other projects to look forward to :)

How can this be her most dull era to date? It's not like when she was shilling HSN crap or perfumes or nail polishes or appearing on D-list tabloid magazines nude while pregnant. Hell, even American Idol which should have been a no-brainer ended up hurting her image. With new management, everything she's done in the past year have all been music based and has generated mostly good press. I don't understand how fans can complain. Especially after years and years of scandals and bad press. And if you hadn't noticed, releasing new music is not paying the bills right now. In 10 years she's released 5 albums(6 if you count Infinity) with the first going multi-platinum while the last album... not even gold. So why would she be in a rush to release new music when she can be doing other music related projects where she actually makes money (and as Heart Shaped Box so brilliantly said) remains relevant while trying to rebuild her brand and legacy. If the label is in no rush for her to release new music, then good for her. She can concentrate on her kids, new romance, and still be in the public eye. When Mariah puts out a new record, I want everyone to be on the same page, and everything in place. And of course the album to be FIRE.

For the nostalgia:
Body, confidence, rambling, visuals all on point. Can we get the Toronto show from this tour on DVD for Rainbow's 20th anniversary?

I didn't realize how strong her voice was in 2000. Her range of the early 90s wasn't completely there, but what she did have of her voice sounded incredibly strong. Her voice was so full and healthy sounding; not strained at all and seemingly effortless through most of the show.

Only watched/listened to some of Emotions from that video but she pretty much sounds as good singing that song now as she did then. I actually expected better from a show 15 years ago but then again, I don't usually watch her live performances unless it's in person or on TV.

If she doesn't have an album out next year (or at least talk of releasing one in that timeframe), I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up taking an insanely long break and releasing a super soulful auntie album when she's like 50 or something. No one will be expecting a 50 year old whose been in the game for 30 years to be topping the charts and she'll be able to make the music she wants. Epic probably is getting a piece of all her side-ventures, I doubt they're expecting to profit off her album sales.
