Did I mis-hear, or did Mariah refer to 'Through The Rain' as 'Through The Drain' in that Kimmel footage?! (at 6:08)

Thanks for the posting the performance! I see what ya'all are saying. She was like, oh wait, I got this right here - and gave some whistle for our nerves!
Atta girl!

Best performance of the song so far, IMO.

So much love for the Queen everywhere as she slays these performances.

Hard to tell... Doesn't sound like her typical whistle tone, but it doesn't sound like her falsetto, either, which is usually really light; kind of whispery. Whatever the case, I think it's a facet of her voice she has newly discovered and we'll probably hear a lot more of it.

I think it's in a high falsetto.

I've been enjoying all my Mariah CDs these past few weeks. I have to say Butterfly was a huge artistic turning point for her. I always praised her earliest work due to those Whitney-level vocals, but musically Mariah has only gotten better over time. Current faves: The Remixes & E=MC2. And on a more shallow note, she is serving perfection on the Rainbow and #1s covers.

Another ranking of her #1s: www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/05/mariah_careys_infinity_ranking.html#incart_riverAlso, I got the latest Ent Weekly today, and two comments are posted in reaction to their ranking of her #1s: FEEDBACK "After we hailed pop queen Mariah Carey with our ranking of all her 18 No. 1 songs, reader Jess Hahn of Columbia, SC added more huzzahs to the mix: 'She has been perhaps the most influential artist of the past 25 years, and there is no denying the catchiness of jams like Fantasy, Dreamlover, and Someday.' (Her yuletide staple "All I Want For Christmas Is You" was ineligible for our pop-chart rankings - it never hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 - but John Krzyston of Dearboen Heights, Mich, still felt it deserved a shout-out)."

I said it.

I love how she is coming across so mature, legendary and classy. She is acting like a Queen and aging gracefully. meanwhile at the ranch.

Random question but does the back of the album artwork have the same format as the first #1's, with the Billboard chart?

I like how not one of the usual haters have come in here and tried it.
As a legit Mariah fan with the most critical ear for her voice, I have to say that she has delivered so consistently and at times, surprisingly, with her vocals. She's attempting, and more often now, nailing, some very risky heights with her notes. I, for one, am ecstatic that she still has the fire in her. That she's still trying to give us the same magic she had when she was 21.
My queen.

although not perfect... HATS OFF to Mariah on the Kelly Ripa performance. Sounded totally live to me and sounded very strong. Infinity has really grown on me.
And I think LA Ried should SHUT UP :) JK. I mean he does have a point; her chances of getting a big radio hit at this point in career is slimmer... I HATE that the other people he listed in that statement havent had a radio hit in like 30 years! Paul Macartney, Prince, Stevie Wonder???
Is LA forgetting Mariah had a significant hit like 2 years ago with #B?

"Vision Of Love" on Kelly and Michael was WAY better than the Billboard Awards performance. I like that she re-arranged it to better suit her voice now.
