There's very little incentive for Sony to re-certify her albums. Album certifications have become much less meaningful now with the current state of album sales. Not in Mimi's head. She'll ride those certifications for years. You know she loves them... all. Really, though, I think her debut being diamond certified will be the only big "news", as I believe Shania Twain is the only other woman with three diamond albums. Celine? Really, though, how many artists overall have three diamond albums?

Maybe she'll sign with Sony Epic and push for all her albums to be updated on certificates.
Although I would rather see her go to Warner Music to finish off the last phase of her career.

Is she hinting at her new direction? We got a few jazzy licks on MIAM and now these covers on tour. YESSSSS. Make me purchase a jazz album like only you can, Mariah! Jazzy's impact is real :'(

I love Mimi but I feel like the actual lambs are kind of going through what the Whitney fans went through. I haven't listened to all the latest clips however the ones I have heard aren't all that great. It's kind of like if there's two good notes through out a full song we/they think it's great. Maybe I'm being over critical but even my Mother who doesn't even care about Mariah asked me "What the heeck I was listening too" when I was playing a few clips from her current concerts. Granted those were from the first couple of dates. Anyways I still Love her and if she comes to the US I would probably still go see her lol. The Adventures of Mimi Tour is still in my Top 3 favorite concerts I have been to.

At this point anyone saying she sounds as bad or worse than Whitney on her final tour is just factually incorrect. @jazzysoul47 licked MIAM? I licked it more than I licked E=MC2.

Next week marks 20th anniversary of Merry Christmas release. I hope she has something planned to commemorate. Soundscan numbers are around 5.4 million, yes? Considering it was released at the height of BMG and Columbia House boom, I'd say it's shipped at least 6 million by now. Too bad it probably won't ever be certified again. It's last certification (5x platinum) came in January 2003. I have no doubt it should be 6x platinum. It has sold about 5.4 million via Soundscan, so between music clubs and the (admittedly limited) copies on store shelves it should certainly be past 6 million. We also know the GH has sold enough to be 2x platinum, and Remixes has sold enough to be Gold. I'd also bet money Rainbow should be 4x platinum. It has sold more via Soundscan than Whitney's MLIYL and had a higher BMG record club sales total when we got those numbers, yet MLIYL is 4x platinum and Rainbow is not. But as has been mentioned, at this point Sony has little to no interest in certifying her albums.

Plus adding somebody that doesn't care for the artist is doing your opinion a disservice.

I'm watching the Daydream Tour DVD, let's say I'm content for life and so is my wallet. :) The one in the Tokyo Dome? If so, it's perfection. The Tokyo Dome one has been abused by me via YOUTUBE. That "I Dont Wanna Cry" performance is one of the best and moving performances....uggggggh love it.

I'm watching a certain R&B diva who is hailed as a vocalist and 80% of that recent tour is pre-recorded, however NOT one mention has been made because she is HOT and RELEVANT.
So yes we do hold Mimi to a higher standard and don't ask me to name who, i won't but it's not too hard since i said "R&B" "relevant" if u know the concert or who I am talking about please don't name drop her, but yes when ur of the moment nobody cares that your performances are lipped/ pre-recorded.

3 hours to go. I'm still hoping that she will perform you don't know what to do.

I think a Vegas stint of Mariah doing jazz standards (and maybe jazz versions of some of her own songs) would be a great idea. A small venue that'd sell out every performance.

^I'd love that. Mariah seems completely uninterested in drastically rearranging any of her songs though, which is a shame. I love it when artists do something unexpected with their back catalogue. She seems to love having the crowd know the songs and sing along with her too much.

Somebody in the front row needs to make a big ass banner that says "MARIAH PLEASE SING PRISONER!" If only to see what her reaction would be.

LOL at "Mr. Moroccan Scott!" (i.e. no "Cannon"). Please let a full version of that "Lullaby of Birdland" performance drop!

This may seem like an odd comment, but the skit with Rocky and the sound of her voice takes me straight back to the 90s... Such a full and healthy tone!

I recorded it, not sure about the quality though Oh, and on the intro for Fly Like A Bird, she said that she won a grammy for the song (album), even though the grammy hasn't been her friend. Lol

Was that backdrop video during "Cry" the one from the BET Awards?
"Cry" is right up there in terms of best tracks on the latest album.
The first part of the "My All" chorus sounds straight from the album vocals- and then after the break, it seems live, as it's sung differently.
