She does look good, when did she get them hips?!
Re: Tanaka, who cares what his motives are at this point? I "care" about her wellbeing in general, but why waste any energy judging this guy when Mimi couldn't care less about what any of us think about her personal life? I strongly doubt she's worried about the decisions we make in ours.

Tanaka is the snack before the main meal. If having a younger cute boy toy that she can buy makes her feel young and vibrant then indulge. I'm sure he loves the perks that comes with being Mariah's bitch boi but aslong as he treats with respect and well it's her fucking life .

The tour started, the vocals were great, the outfits were classy and the setlist was okay.
I'm pleased!

Did she do "Love Hangover" or did she mash it up with "Heartbreaker" again? I have always loved that "Heartbreaker/Love Hangover" mashup. I remember buying the CTTA single specifically because that live performance was on there. I wish there was a studio version of it.
I also bought the DC "Jumpin Jumpin" single because their live version of "Upside Down" from that same show was a b-side. Damn, Diva's Live used to be so good.

Lionel apparently got on stage way after Mariah left. There was some sort of interlude/waiting moment.

Apart from 1 or 2 songs, I've not seen where she caters to specific audiences.

Glad to see VOL on the set list though

If Stella had any sense she'd be booking small theaters for Mariahs upcoming "Deep Cuts and Fan Favorites" tour. Underneath the Stars. Breakdown. Sent From Up Above. For the Record. Etc. It would be songs Mariah loves to sing (and can sing well), appease the fans in a unique way, and if it went well (sneaking suspicion she'd do better in smaller venues with what she knows is material the people she's singing to LOVE) amazing press.
Make it happen.

Mariah's next tour should be in support of her new album. She doesn't need to do a "Deep Cuts and Fan Favorites" tour - she needs to put out a new album.
I think this tour with Lionel is good for her especially if she continues to sing like she did last night - her vocals gave me goose bumps - it's good for her because it reminds people who normally wouldn't go to a Mariah Carey concert that Mariah Carey can sing!

Otherwise she wouldn't bother performing "Without You" or "Against All Odds" overseas. The setlist for this tour is a mix of her biggest 90s and 00s hits. Which is fitting for a tour called All the Hits.

The point wasn't whether the songs fit the title of the tour. The point was about the type of audience at the tour. Lionel attracts an older/AC/family crowd for the most part, so catering to that audience would mean Mariah performing more of her early and mid-90s hits.

And, apart from a couple songs, she's going to be singing her classics. Adult R&B and AC fans definitely know what she's singing.

She should lose all the 00's hits with the exception of "We Belong Together". They're a bore to watch her perform. Many other hits that are far more interesting to see her perform to choose from.

Well, drop them or at least re-arrange them if she's going to do them. "Shake It Off" has had some really nice arrangements at certain points. "It's Like That" was a worldwide hit and is one of her 00s hits that translates well live; she's also done some different things with it over the years. But, yeah, in context of this specific tour, her back catalog makes more sense to highlight. I wonder how Lionel would sound on "#Beautiful." It wasn't a huge hit overall, but it's the type of song that appeals to many generations.

So Mariah and Lionel didn't even duet? I was expecting the obvious "Endless Love" duet.

Shake It Off is kinda unnecessary given the audience, I'd drop that first and put Emotions. We also haven't seen a Make It Happen performance in ages. Emotions/Dreamlover/Fantasy medley would also work well.
I understand the need to include 00's hits on an All Hits tour but Lionel's audience might want those 90's hits. I guess she'll see how their reaction is and then maybe go for a change after understanding what type of songs they want.

This tour is kind of strange and I would have thought "Endless Love" would be included. Are there sets completely different that there needs to be a long intermission?? I don't know why Lionel doesn't sing it early in his set for Mariah would stick around and do it with him. I also think they should of tried to incorporate "Beautiful" into her set list along with maybe "I'll Be There". Maybe perform it as one of her last songs so he could pop out and do Miguels part. This could have been a cute joint tour....
