They're probably working on tour footage. I hope she ups the tour production game a little bit. I want a superstar show/setting.

Not to mention, who even wants a Mariah "visual album"? With a few notable exceptions, Mariah's videos have always been a hindrance more than anything. She's not a visual artist. Well, Mariah's best videos are mostly from the 1997-1999 time period, which was post-divorce. Maybe the split with Nick would lead to some better videos? charm/TEOM are great too

None of the videos from Charmbracelet or Emancipation can touch her 90s vids. The only video this millennium that has come close is "Touch My Body".

Has she actually confirmed that she is coming to the US? I might be wrong but I have a feeling Mariah will focus on positive press in places in Asia, Australia she knows the girls will come out in droves. I think negative press over lack of attendance or smaller venues is something she might be leery off coming off this album especially in America. People will always pay to see Mariah Carey anywhere but hiccups along the way could lead to the negative nancy's dragging her in the press. She should do some of the major cities, and Toronto always goes batshit for MIMI. I wouldn't be surprised however if she stayed away from a US Tour.

I know most fans didnt like it, but I enjoyed her video for "Loving U Long Time" the effort and attempt at making videos was still there during TEOM and E=MC2. The videos went waaaaaaaaaay downhill during Memoirs and on. Those memoirs videos outside of the lead I'm all for gay rights, but that whole baseball field and cheesy we are the world shit, no ma'am. The Hate U video was surprising thats when i said Mariah carey don't give a shit. Like Mariah allowed them to show footage of her looking like that? she looked like she was washed up from the ocean like a whale. (well tamar loved that video so its all good i guess)

The before (filming the video) and after (final product) shots for the "H.A.T.E.U" video are pretty humorous. The editors pulled a Paula Abdul/"Promise of a New Day," Britney Spears/"Piece of Me" for that one.

The IBLULT video is one of my favorites from her actually. She looks so hot in the black bathing suit.

None of the videos from Charmbracelet or Emancipation can touch her 90s vids. The only video this millennium that has come close is "Touch My Body". Right. She did have some solid videos in the '00s, but by that point the videos had become more about her looking good than anything else. Plus, she somehow lost the natural sexiness of videos like "Honey" and "The Roof" (it became forced). "Touch My Body" was a playful exception to that. On top of that, "Honey" and "Butterfly" had extra meaning to them because of the Tommy stuff. You can read more here: www.est1997.com/music/emancipating-visuals-mariah-breaks-free-with-butterfly-and-honey/In terms of her videos, I wouldn't call anything pre-B utterfly truly great. Videos like "Can't Let Go," "Dreamlover" and "Fantasy" do capture the vibe of their songs, though, and are solid. Her first truly great video was "Honey." I know "Butterfly" has a mixed reception, but there is a lot of meaning in that one. "The Roof" might be her best video, and "My All" and "Breakdown" are really solid, too. "Sweetheart" and "I Still Believe" were back to being solid videos but not a lot more (though "ISB" had the Marilyn angle). Then she hit with "Heartbreaker" which contends for her best video. "Crybaby" is solid, too. Once you get into the 00s, she's very hit or miss. I actually like the "Loverboy" video a lot, but I can see why people wouldn't. "Don't Stop" is like her early 90s videos in that there isn't much to it, but it does capture the vibe of the song well. "Through The Rain" is solid but somehow should have been better. "Boy" has some nice visuals but overall makes little sense. I think we can all agree "Bringin' On The Heartbreaker" is one of her best videos. The TEOM videos are all solid, but none are particularly great. They are a step up from her early '90s videos, though. "Touch My Body" was then one of her best videos ever. I particularly love how it makes fun of her own image (unicorn!). "Bye Bye" was then lame, but "IBLULT" was one that captured the song (and she looked flawless) but didn't have much else to it. "I Stay In Love" was ok. Memoirs had a couple of good videos, too; it was like good/bad/good/bad. "Obsessed" had a nice concept, even if the execution could have been better. "Up Out My Face" is really nice as well. The MIAM videos aren't worth a discussion; too much vanity. My top 5 Mariah videos (in order of release): "Honey" "The Roof" "Heartbreaker" "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" "Touch My Body"

Yeah, I kind of agree. "The Roof" is her best video, although "Honey" comes mightily close. "Heartbreaker" closes out the top 3 for me personally.
I also agree that "Touch My Body" is her best '00's video. Apart from "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together," it may also be her only 00's/'10's video that doesn't totally suck...

Mariah video Top 5:
1. Heartbreaker (the Making the Video of this was CLASSIC) 2. Fantasy (everything about this was iconic - the roller skates, roller coaster, parking lot breakdown. That it was filmed a few miles from my hometown is just an added bonus) 3. Honey (no words) 4. It's Like That (this got me hyped for my girl's return. Plus the cliffhanger ending) 5. Touch My Body (hysterical, fun to watch. Better than the song)
Honorable mention: My All (underrated on here, apparently)
This has got me buggin. I also love ABMB, AIWFCIY (the one with home video footage), Emotions, and even fucking OSD with her studio sneaker chic look. This woman is perfect.

I loved the commercial that had H.A.T.E.U. with her staring out the window and singing the song. So much better than the actual video.

From the 00's....
I thought the combo of It's Like That/We Belong Together was fantastic, IMO. The storyline matched the visuals/feel of the song and I thought she looked beautiful in both. That era couldn't have started any better.
Shake It Off was also good too. I love the way this video begins and ends...the visuals/special effects looked cool.
And lastly, Touch My Body....LOVE!

So do we know if she's gonna end up touring in the US next year? I need to see her live ASAP!

Mariah is not here for fickle fans that paid her best album ever dust. I wouldn't blame her for not touring here, honestly, even if tours generate more revenue for the artist than album sales.

Yeah well there are tons of fans here that DO want to see her live and are not fickle, so there's no reason for her not to. She could do a couple of shows in the major cities.

Wendy Williams was on the Elvis Duran Show this morning and Elvis asked her what he thought of the Mariah and Nick breakup. Wendy says she didn't see this one coming. She said when she found out she was on hiatus and wanted to tape an emergency show because she has so much to say about the breakup. She says she's surprised it lasted as long as it did. Wendy states her sources tell her that at first Nick idolized Mariah and she loved it. But then things started to happen for him and he was not paying as much attention to Mariah. Well according to Wendy, this is the root of problem. And they started fighting more she accused him of cheating.
Then they are started talking about Mariah's insecurity. Danielle said that when Mariah comes on the show, she freaks out if they mention how long they've know her. Wendy says Mariah looks awesome and she shouldn't be so insecure.
And that folks is your recap of the trashing they gave Mariah on the Elvis Duran Show AKA Z100.

Just the way they were talking about her insecurities, her age, etc. Little "read between the lines" zingers.

They didn't lie though. She DOES freak out when anyone mentions her age or tenure in the industry. Hell, she changed the lyrics of "I Want To Know What Love Is" to remove the "when I'm older" line.

Was it like that Toni Braxton "I Don't Want To" situation where they filmed a whole different video?

LMAO. I remember when she was being interviewed on Ariana's "young Mariah" label: "But Mariah is still the young Mariah, dahhling. I'm young."

Just the way they were talking about her insecurities, her age, etc. Little "read between the lines" zingers. Sometimes pointing out the truths is okay, her insecurities and age related issues that she ALWAYS had makes older people who havent aged well feel a bit uncomfortable. Wendy and Elvis have a right to be in their bag a little bit. Mariah is insecure and is eternally talking about her age like she is still a teen, and like Wendy said , she doesnt have to be so insecure. We all say that P.s I found a open letter i wrote for Mariah after I heard 'Triumphant" :kii: mess.com rant. I sound like a goat not a lamb, as she rambles on.

You think the videos for "Bringin' On The Heartbreak," "Shake It Off," and "Up Out My Face" all suck?!?! I forgot about MCIIY videos. I liked both for what they were. They fit their respective songs well. Then they are started talking about Mariah's insecurity. Danielle said that when Mariah comes on the show, she freaks out if they mention how long they've know her. Wendy says Mariah looks awesome and she shouldn't be so insecure. I can't disagree with them here. Mariah freaks out when anyone mentions age, how old a song of hers is, how long she has been coming onto a show, etc. I'm all for a youthful spirit and all of that, but it's clearly a complex for her.

Is Mariah singing background on Katy Perry's "This Is How We Do" ? It sounds like Mariah on that verse that goes this is how we do it..
