Oh thank goodness. This should probably go top 10. I can only hope she has enough momentum/hype still surrounding her.

This is probably the best choice in terms of radio potential. I like "My House" and "Step Off" better, but this should be easier for radio to play. I have no idea what to predict for this, though. It deserves to be huge, and I could see it going top 10. I could also see it barely making the top 50. I really have no idea which way it will go.

Perfect choice! I would love for this to be her biggest hit yet and open doors for the first single off her next album.

I'm really excited about this one.. "Keep It To Yourself" is my favorite song on the album. I'm also worried that after FYA didn't really do anything that this might get lost in the shuffle.. I really hope i'm wrong. I want to see Kacey have all the success in the world.

If they were going to try another single, this or My House were my picks. Enough acceptable current country radio subject matter (booty calls) but with the usual classic Kacey twist- Denying the Booty call. Will country radio continue to ignore her? Interested to see. I have no idea what to think after some of the charting and non charting singles in 2013!

I do believe this was the most radio friendly choice on the album. My remaining favorites were "My House" and "Silver Lining", with "Keep It To Yourself" third. I still believe "Silver Lining" could work as a single, but in this case after the truly disappointing treatment yet not surprising treatment of "Follow Your Arrow", I believe this was Kacey's best remaining hope for a hit.
Should be interesting to see how this performs. Kacey already has full support from the fans, her peers, and the industry. Now it's up to country radio to hop on and realize her talent as a singer/songwriter.

Not gonna lie My House sounds like the perfect spring/summer jam but I like this for a single as well. I hope this does well so My House will get on radio later this year.

Was really hoping for "Step Off" but this is still a great choice. Love it. Think it'll probably do well for her.

Ecstatic for this to be released because it's my favorite song on the record (along with MGR), but I still feel like Silver Lining sounds more radio friendly. Hopefully this does pretty well, but her momentum at radio isn't very good at the moment, despite all the critical praise and solid sales, so I don't know what to expect out of this one in regards to chart prospects. At this point, I'd just like to see it best the peak of "Follow Your Arrow" and crack the Top 40... anything better would just be lovely.

RIP "Silver Lining"
I'm okay with this, though. It's not like there's a bad song on the album that could be shipped to radio. Plus, with 3 singles in and each one being equivalent to one another in terms of quality whilst still gradually declining in radio and commercial performance (sans "Follow Your Arrow", which seemingly struck a chord with the general public in terms of hype and buzz over "Merry Go Round" and "Blowin' Smoke"), I can't imagine that going up or down is of any major concern for her or her team of this point. Here's hoping this can crack the Top 40!

A radio friendly single! I think "Step Off" is the fan favorite to be her next single cause I've read the comments in Kacey's tweet and majority wants Step Off but I'm okay with "Keep It To Yourself" too.

...but 'Silver Linings'. :(
This is OK and everything but I feel like there are more exciting options. I love the song but idk if I love it as a single.

I was actually really hoping for Dandelion, but I guess I'm in the minority with that one! Either way, I'm glad Kacey is getting another single- lets hope this one cracks the top ten like it deserves! I kind of like that this song is a little more "tame" than the previous singles. Not that I disagreed with the messages of those songs, but it seems like those songs got so much hate (from people who posted on Taste of Country, the Boot's, CMT's, etc, websites/facebook pages) for being so "outspoken". Maybe this is just what is needed to shut those people up and prove to them that she is indeed a force to be reckoned with.

I actually always expected to see comments like the ones you're alluding to, but I can't say that I've actually really seen much of any negative comments about her material in any of those places tbqh. I feel like the people with the problem about her outspoken-ness are the ones not giving her music radio airplay and those people just appear to think that the general public doesn't want to hear those songs, but digital sales, critical reception, etc. seem to suggest the exact opposite.

YAASSSSSSSS!
By far the best decision if they want a radio hit. I am optimistic about this one (maybe too much so). I think there is enough hype around her for radio to still be interested in her if they were given the right song, and I believe this could be the right song. Its super radio-friendly, which cannot be said about many of Kacey's songs. I think this can at least match "Blowin' Smoke" on radio terms and hopefully even better.

Just what I had wanted in the Follow Your Arrow thread: What I would love to see is a fourth Same Trailer Different Park single. That will peak during the summer (provided that country radio plays it). Then a lead single from CD #2 should be performed during the C.M.A.s. theboot.com/kacey-musgraves-diversity-country-music/

This is one of my favorite songs on the album (although there aren't any songs I don't like), so I'm happy to see it released as a single.

I don't really understand why- she isn't doing anything offensive! I guess the lines about "love who you love" and "roll up a joint" would be frowned upon in a more conservative state, but I live in California for crying out loud!

I've loved all of Kacey's releases and can't understand why they didn't go anywhere! This song is so good and if Country Radio doesn't show it some love...they are crazier than I thought!

YES!
Definitely one of my favorite from the album, and I was pulling for this to be a single. Actually, I was hoping this would've been the 3rd single because I think it really would've smashed in the fall/winter. "Follow Your Arrow" should've been the 4th single, because A) I think it's better as a spring/summer single and B) "Keep It to Yourself" being released first would've likely given FYA a better chance at radio, since I think KITY is less-controversial and probably would've opened to door for radio to embrace a song like FYA.

I think the first 3 singles layed the ground work for this. Honestly though, this should have been the 2nd single. It could've opened the door for Follow Your Arrow. Anywho, this is very radio friendly and may even give her that very first country #1! Assuming they play their cards right.

I see it all the time on those websites, and whenever my local country station posts about her on Facebook, there is a constant string of hate. I don't really understand why- she isn't doing anything offensive! I guess the lines about "love who you love" and "roll up a joint" would be frowned upon in a more conservative state, but I live in California for crying out loud! I think you bring up a very good issue. When Kacey won the Grammy for Best Country Album, she was trending on Facebook but most of it was hate. So many people and pages with comments like "Kacey who? She's not a star! Shoulda gone to Blake or Jason!" etc. Obviously the Grammy win was good for Kacey because it did expose her music to more people (and she saw some nice sales gains), but her music and her Grammy wins have also caused somewhat of a stir since she's so different from all the "safe" stuff that radio plays. So many casual "modern" country fans can't understand why an unknown artist is beating out all the stuff from Jason, Blake, Luke, etc. that they jam to. It's corporate country radio brain-washing at its finest. The Clear Channels and the Cumulus-types...they've changed what today's definition of country music is. It's no longer about well-crafted music and artistic merit, it's all about stereotypical, uptempo stuff that people can dance and sing along to. I believe that country radio is more broken now than it has ever been. There's still a lot of great music being made, and occasionally it winds up on the radio, but more often than not, it doesn't. Radio is willing to play almost any hip-hop/bro-country stuff but when it comes to people like Kacey Musgraves, Greg Bates, Chris Stapleton, Ashley Monroe, and Kellie Pickler? Those artists have no place on what *should* be their home format. Their music is closer to the definition of country (or, at least, the 'old' definition that used to apply to country music ranging from a few years ago to a few decades back) than Luke Bryan, Chase Rice, or Florida Georgia Line (among others) could ever hope to be. Corporate radio doesn't care about music quality. They only care about ratings. They want to bring in as many listeners as possible, because they don't want to lose out to other music-discovering platforms. And so the big corporate country radio companies are out their chasing after listeners. They play the big-sellers more because they don't want listeners to tune out. And that's a huge problem for Kacey and other new artists, because it is harder and harder to get your music played, especially if you decide to go against the grain and make a record that is different than anything else radio has been playing. 43dudleyvillas made a great post in the Craig Campbell thread, and she writes about demographic-chasing better than I ever could. Corporate country radio and its demographic-chasing agenda has resulted in fewer and fewer traditional country songs on the airwaves, and fewer and fewer female artists getting played as well. Furthermore, the big hits and the biggest names are getting played closer and closer together (hence why audience records keep getting broken left and right) because radio stations fear their listeners will tune out if they play unfamiliar material. For various reasons, the corporate radio gate-keepers have decided that bro-country falls within the parameters of country music, but the jury is still out on music like Kacey's. If her label can navigate the rough waters, they may be able to play the radio game well enough to get her some success. There are days when I feel hopeful but there are days when I don't. Anyway, as a result of the parameter shift regarding music that country radio will play, we've seen a lot of the more complex topics/songs, ballads, and talented artists get left out in the cold, whether it's someone more established like Alan Jackson (there's also an 'ageism' thing at play here, but that's a whole 'nother topic) or Gary Allan, or someone newer like Kacey, who may have been very popular had she been around 2 decades ago, but today faces a much more difficult uphill climb. I like "Keep It To Yourself" an awful lot, but I am not sure how it will do at radio. I'm definitely interested in watching how it does, but it's more of a nervous interested than an excited interested. I don't think this is a "make or break" single in terms of Kacey's overall career aspects but it would nice (now that's an understatement) to see a bigger hit from Same Trailer Different Park again. I feel like "Silver Lining" might've been a better choice but KITY (heh, sound that one out) will serve just fine.

This is a good choice, though I would've preferred "Step Off". I saw her perform live and she was fantastic. I'm hoping this gets her into the top 20 on country radio.

For some odd reason, I wasn't sure if they'd release a fourth single, but it's a relief to see that they are doing so. Very mellow and somewhat understated in comparison to the last few singles. I'm really hoping this at least makes it to the top 40, although I can see it going top 20 if radio does catch on.

I LOVE this song. It's the track that I always come back to.
So glad to see this released as single. Hopefully this will do well. C'mon, country radio!
ETA: Kree sings background vocals for this right? Maybe she will perform together with Kacey at ACM. That would be great.

Really like this from Kacey. My favorite off the album is always gonna be "Merry Go Round", just hits so close to home. Though "It Is What It Is" would be a welcome release imo.

"It Is What It Is" brings me back to the female country renaissance of the 90s (Deanna Carter, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Trisha Yearwood, etc)... Radio's been lacking this kind of music for far too long
