Alicia is so pretty! The Weekend is actually kind of cute! This is honestly the first time I'm noticing because the distracting art installation hair is cropped out of the frame above. How some more new album surprises? They really complimented each other in that performance. I could see a duet between them working out well and it may just be the little something Alicia needs to reintroduce some hype to her game.

Question: Is there a way she/anyone can regain their vocal form back? I've always wondered this. Depends on the reason someone lost it in the first place, I would think. Does anyone recall when Alicia first started becoming inconsistent as a performer? Was it after she gave birth to her first child? Sometimes giving birth does affect one's singing ability (for example, Kelly said she thought she'd completely lost her voice after she had River, though that turned out to only be a temporary setback), so if that is the reason or part of it then there's probably not much one can do to gain one's full voice back. If it's just poor technique, then she can correct that with proper (re)training, but she has to start doing it before she ends up going the Aguilera route and shreds her voice beyond repair. (Even then, it's possible to work with what you have left and return to a better form, if not your original peak.) In the most drastic cases, when you have nodes or a tear on your vocal cords, you can get surgery. I'm thinking for Alicia poor technique/lack of practice is the bigger culprit, but there may be a loss that she's just not going to get back. As others have pointed out she still has good moments but that's probably after she's had a lot of rehearsal time to get herself in a zone.

Her voice has changed but she has a poor technique too. She better do something NOW if she doesn't wanna end up like Mariah Carey...

Alicia does better vocally on tour. I know she has a lot of vocal practice and a great diet/health regiment when she's touring. But her televised performances are inconsistent.
IMO, starting with As I Am, she was singing out of her range. The studio version and live performances of "No One" in 2007-2008 were struggles. Myself and a lot of people feel like she was yelling on that song.

I think she literally croaked on "No One". But I fuqed with that song. I couldn't stand "No One" for the longest because of the vocals. But after seeing her live for Set The World On Fire Tour, I got into it. She was on point that night, the best I've ever heard her sound, killed every song!

She sounded good for almost the whole concert, but during the last part her voice sounded tired (she was singing No One, Girl On Fire and Empire State Of Mind). I think she should sing these songs in a lower range. Tbh i hope she will never sing Girl On Fire again because i can't stand it lol.

I was listening to a Jamie xx DJ set yesterday and he threw "When It's All Over" into the mix. Man, what a perfect song. For me, that was the ONE song from Girl On Fire that was on par with her classics. I really hope they collaborate again.

I find it interesting that so many people hate her vocals on No One, yet it is her biggest song across all formats and countries! LOL. I too hated the vocals the first few times I listened to the song. I ended up liking the song a lot because of that MTV commercial where she sang it acapella, but also because of the instrumentation and simple, but heart-felt lyrics.

Her website has been restyled. www.aliciakeys.com/The font is the same as the one for Songs In A Minor. I hope the new album is as great as SIAM!!!l
