The pre-impact airplay is not encouraging, but, who's really expecting a Lopez single to take off? After "On the Floor" hit during her first Idol stint, none of the singles have taken off in a big way. "Dance Again" did OK, but the others, not so much.
Currently Nos. 42 and 259 on iTunes.

As annoying as he is, hes pretty right on with not expecting this to take off considering the back to back underwhelming singles performance she had after OTF. The song itself is polarizing. Its not something the general public will instantly love and its one of those songs the production outweighs everything else and has questionable lyrics ala Run The World and Work Bitch. I think shes too good to be singing i luh ya papi.

Being "right" isn't the point. He does this in just about every female artist's thread that isn't Madonna. He has no intentions of wanting to see this single do well and from his pasts posts in just about every J.Lo thread, it's clear he isn't a fan.
And regarding the airplay not being "encouraging", I think the airplay being consistent thus far without an adds date or blowing up on iTunes actually shows some promise.

The verses to this are fire but that hook prevents me from enjoying this song fully. I really wish they had come up with something else for the hook.

Is this still going for adds next week? It's not listed on AllAccess. It never actually was, lol - that date was always for Rhythmic only.

Well he even tells us in the Madonna threads not to expect big airplay from Madonna, I think sometimes he's just being realistic, but it is repetitive sometimes.

^That is correct- there is no discrimination, even when it comes to Madge. And like I've said in other threads, if it's repetitive, it's because I see the same comments from others that ignore factors that play a sizable role in a single's chart potential. It's blind optimism- so, there should be something that gives a more realistic viewpoint. And I've seen it way too many times, when people have hopes for a single's performance and then it doesn't do all that hot, and they're disappointed. If you enjoy a track, just enjoy it, and don't get disappointed or wrapped up in how it fares. I am not a big Jennifer Lopez fan- never said I was. I don't really like this particular track, but I do some others. And I'm hardly one to "disappear" from a thread when something does well.

I wonder why the add date for this was gone (both POP & Rhythmic) This is a song that would make you like it more with each listen and even better after the video & performance (specially the video)

I cant believe the record company heard this track and thought they shouldn't hire some writers to write some lyrics that can hopefully get a hit single and maybe three weeks of solid or decent album sales in before the album's inevitable death. This isn't a song that can get any airplay. I love the beat but the words are so cringe-worthy even for Jenny.

This should have been a urban single only and they should have used the big pun sample throughout the whole song when the beat changes in the French Montana part or least a remix. Its like when she released fresh out the oven should of learned from that. I wish she would do more Jlo album urban/latin/pop some salsa. She will have a better chance at pop radio than urban. Im praying it becomes a hit though cause i love me some jlo.

I usually really like most of Jennifer's singles and own all of her albums. After hearing this on AI, I was thinking WTF? The chorus is pretty stupid. Hopefully after a few listens it will click.

This is the point where I mention something that most probably know, but a few here and there may not realize. As some feel like grabbing the computer and shaking it when they see my broken-record /"negative" comments, that's how I feel when I see some comments- like talk as if a radio-impact date will make a huge difference for an established act. Stop the insanity!!!!!!!! (It doesn't really bother me - just making a point how some should not get bothered by a poster's realistic chart discussion and posts) Unless perhaps it's a new or developing act, a radio-impact date is a formality, and nothing more. it may get some stations to add the track, but whether that results in big airplay gains, no guarantee in that regard. Some releases, especially from big names, get great play even before an official radio-impact date hits. And Jennifer Lopez is a big name. No. 95 on iTunes (the Pop bars that lists top 1,500 isn't working, so not sure of the second entry)

Some releases, especially from big names, get great play even before an official radio-impact date hits. And Jennifer Lopez is a big name. I think, at least in this case, that formality is necessary though. Radio wants to know that she and her label are taking this single seriously, and setting an adds date would help them see that. It could also be important considering she has released two tracks before this one, "Same Girl" and "Girls," and radio wants to make sure that this is, indeed, the first single they intend on pushing. Yes, you would think the music video and the American Idol performance would have been enough, but perhaps the adds date is necessary. I don't think it's foolish to assume that in this case. Jennifer Lopez is quite the big name, but you say that as though her track record at pop radio is stellar; it's far from stellar.

She had a pretty decent run in the past- but, yah, outside of OTF in recent times, not so much.
I can see your points- and like I said, an adds date will result in adds and such, but not necessarily the airplay some would like to see. Other factors, as we know, such as age, come into play. She looks fantastic, no doubt- but she is still her age. Together with the fact that this track just isn't great as a single release, and it will make it tough.

This song is legitimately awful, but it's also ridiculously addictive. Heard it at a club on the weekend and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.
