wow This is cool! im glad he is coming back with new music he was one of my favorites in 2012! I hope he can create a new momentum for himself because hes gonna need it to get another top 5! I like the song but i want to hear the actual recording before i make my judgement call! :)

The single was sent to radio this AM and already has 20 stations 'on' it.
It was written by Cary Barlowe, Matt Jenkins and Zach Crowell and produced by Mickey Jack Cones.
The song sounds similar to some of the stuff on Randy Houser and Joe Nichols' BBLG debuts and that's not surprising. Cones co-produced Nichols' "Crickets" with Derek George.

Listen to Cowboys And Angels and this song back-to-back. Quite sobering to see how far downhill country has gone in such a short period of time. For a bro-country(ish) song this isn't bad though, the jaunty production is actually kind of a cool take, but if I wanted to hear a hip hop beat I wouldn't have spent the last 20 years avoiding hip hop. Joe Nichols and Randy Houser may have strayed from their neo-trad backgrounds to make contemporary records, but this is a step beyond anything on either of their albums.

For whatever reason, I just cannot get this song out of my head. The whole "yep yep" part and the intro both just keep replaying in my ears.

Wow, this is pretty bad. I dislike the production and the fact that the song doesn't give Dustin a chance to show off his stellar vocals like "Cowboys and Angels" did. It's pretty shocking that after he displayed a strong, emotional side that gave him success, his next two singles off his debut album and now this are so far away from what gained him that success in the first place.
I initially thought Dustin Lynch could break through and become a star in country music, but he's stooping down to his competition and I don't think it's gonna work for him. I honestly don't see him coming close to his C&A success with songs like these. Eventually some of these kinds of songs have to get lost in the shuffle, right?

I like Dustin and his debut, but I don't see myself rooting for this as much. Of course, I wanna see him get another successful single other than "Cowboys and Angels", but I don't think this'll match that level. I think this will end up in the 8-12 range instead since it's a lead single from a new album and radio programmers sure love the sound of that no matter who the artist is evidently.

I agree largely with zjames's post; I don't think this is very good, and I think Dustin sounds pretty awkward singing this one. The production is toned down when compared to a lot of other contemporary country songs but it just doesn't seem to fit with his phrasing of the lyrics, which, btw, are pretty subpar. This is quite the disappointment, considering that "Cowboys And Angels" was such a refreshing neotraditional song and it of course did very well also (#2 radio peak, Platinum in sales), and that was less than 2 years ago. Dustin obviously seems to be playing it safe with more contemporary fare similar to how Randy Houser and Joe Nichols went more contemporary with their most recent albums, but both of those guys were able to pull it off with some pretty solid, radio-friendly songs. "Where It's At" certainly seems radio-friendly as well (by today's standards) but it's not nearly as memorable as "Sunny And 75" or "Runnin' Outta Moonlight", nor does it seem as fluid as either of those songs. It just seems like Dustin's vocals are at odds with the production. However, all indications point to this one being a big hit, and that doesn't surprise me. I don't like the song but I'm simply not surprised by its good start; radio seems to like Dustin and BBR has been really pushing him. "Where It's At" received a whopping 60 adds today, for a total of 75 adds on adds date...that's a MB adds total already higher than the number of stations playing the latest from Cole Swindell, Cassadee Pope, David Nail, Gloriana, and Kacey Musgraves, among others. Dustin is up 10 spots to #50 on Billboard tonight, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this one jump into or close to the top 40 next week, given the huge number of adds.

Dustin sounds like he is almost uninterested singing this song. Plus the production really does not work for me. I must be the only person who was not that into "Cowboys And Angels", but his last three singles have all been downhill since then.

I like this a lot more than "She Cranks My Tractor", but it hurts me that probably my three favorite songs on his debut never were released ("Hurricane", "Waiting", "Rock You Sweet"), shoot I think I like "Unwind It" and "Sittin' Pretty" better than this one.

60 first week adds. Pretty impressive. Dustin told me last week when we chatted that the album WILL have songs with a sound like "Hurricane" and "Cowboys And Angels" and he knows this is a little different from him but he wanted to give it a go. He does likes singing it and especially liked seeing the live reaction to it (particularly the "Yep Yep" part). He CHOSE this song as his single, the label let him.

"Waiting" should have been single #2 or 3, such a good song and it seemed to scream radio hit. I will say his debut was a little disappointing for me, in that NOTHING on the record sounded like Cowboys and Angels. I was expecting more George Strait, and instead got something else. Some of the songs were just written oddly and had odd titles ("Yeah Yeah Yeah" , "Rock You Sweet" etc). Hopefully his sophomore album has a little more depth and quality, because i do think he is talented

Gotta admit this song has gotten firmly stuck in my head the past week. The "yep, yep" has taken me over. Heck, I'm using it in place of a normal "yes" in text messages with friends. It's ridiculous lol.

To be fair, Dustin's song has much more momentum and station support than "Keep Them Kisses Comin'" did, plus it's younger in it's chart run than Craig's song was. Craig's came from out of nowhere which made it worse in my book, but just the fact this will continue makes me shake my head. I know some don't see a problem with this but it doesn't and never will sit well with me.

Now that would've been hilarious to me had that actually happened. I just wish he had another hit other than his debut single. He's got too much talent to just have one major hit imo.

To me it doesn't ruin anything the charts may have in terms of whatever 'integrity' people think radio airplay charts have. This is an initiative that just gets a song heard more. I don't see why that can be bad for anyone, especially the young artists.

I don't see why that can be bad for anyone, especially the young artists. It's completely unnatural. The reason songs move up the charts is base on call-out scores, listener feedback, and song quality (though that is clearly becoming a non-factor lately). This "on the verge" thing is just Clear Channel making their stations PD's add and play the heck out of a song for no good reason other than they told them to because they have a deal with Dustin's label (BBR). I'm not saying the charts have a ton of integrity. In fact that's becoming less apparent the more time goes on. Why even keep track of these song anymore? Why even keep charts anymore? If we already know this song will be iheartradio's "On the verge", we might as well just increase it's spins to heavy rotation and launch into the top 10. Plus it puts other songs struggling for airplay and knocks them down the line and makes what was already a difficult challenge to get a hit single, even harder. I know it's nice to hear young newer type artist to be heard like Craig and Dustin. But this takes all those aspects for how a song gets added and moves up the charts, and tosses it right out the window on a windy day, and that's what I have a problem with.

This "on the verge" thing is just Clear Channel making their stations PD's add and play the heck out of a song for no good reason other than they told them to because they have a deal with Dustin's label (BBR). And programming based on call-out scores is, to me, no different than this initiative. Or listening to what their consultants say. I may not like corporate programming on a local level but if we're going to have it, might as well have this, too. These charts are just a tool of what is getting played at radio. They're not really anything more than that. To me there has never been ANYTHING 'integrity'-based about the charts other than they're a cool tool to see what's 'popular' with RADIO stations, not with the audience listening to the radio (though that certainly is more reflective). This is why the so-called "Mongrel chart" is perhaps the more true view of what is 'popular' and what songs aren't.

This song is okay, but it's not memorable. I loved "Cowboys and Angels" and thought "She Cranks my Tractor" was amusing/cute, but this one is just like any other song out there right now. Personally I loved "Rock you sweet" on his debut, and prefer that kind of sound from Dustin.
