Oh wow, he found some clothes?!? LOL The cover is dry but his face is so sexy. Anyways.... this is his BEST uptempo EVER!! Everything about this is EPIC and the level he needs to stay on. Who produced this? This is STELLAR!!
Hopefully this album has filled with grooves and a few knocks. Tank can croon with the best of them but gotdamn he can be boring.

I just finished listening to Stronger for the 6th time. Tank definitely been listening to Justin Timberlake because GATDAMN I have never wanted a Tank album like I want this one!!! He finally has PRODUCTION that matches his songwriting and vocals. His vocal game has always been beastly but he's taking more risks and showing RANGE. His vocal runs are so Brandy, they need to duet. I'm love watching an artist come into their own and really craft the music like it needs to be done.
These artists are learning that chasing the charts will not give you a legacy or an identity. Just be YOURSELF and keeping the music authentic will however. Sex, Love & Pain was a great album minus the redundancy of some of those songs towards the end and all that ghetto pandering on the interludes. Now or Never is his most cohesive album (and best to date) but even that is tainted with the incessant need to appeal to an audience that will never pick up a Tank album. His last album was forgettable and complacent.

Love it. Seeing JT's show seven times really inspired his sound for the album.

Why the hell people keep giving JT's credit for his recent sound? This is all Michael, Prince, Maxwell, hell even some D'Angelo (vocal wise). Quite insulting, imo. Can these creators get their merits back? Thanks.

Can these creators get their merits back? Thanks. No disrespect to the "originators" of the sounds intended but Tank clearly wasn't influenced by any of them to create these extended versions of his records with dual parts and variations prior to this album. Justin and Timbaland, influenced by whomever, did employ this technique extensively on his last two albums and I'm certain that Tank watching seven of Justin's live shows consecutively directly influenced his approach to the sound of this album so I give the credit to him for that.

Personally, I enjoyed his last two records more than this, but this one is quite cohesive. And what type of Marvin Gaye inspired gem is "Missing You"? That one is definitely my favorite and on repeat for me.

Yeah, "Sex, Love & Pain" remains his best album, IMO. I like a few songs on this one though. He's criminally underrated in the R&B world.

#14 on iTunes and #1 on R&B. I doubt he's selling more than 25k first week out; Atlantic pushed the album back a month to not release the second single to radio nor line up any real promo aside from Essence Fest (which was the weekend before the original release date).

They need to change plans and release "Missing You" as the second single. I don't think people really want the uptempos from him. "You're My Star" has done decently at Urban AC, but I don't think it's doing it for his core like his leads usually do.

Welp, it looks "Stronger" will be his last R&B album.

Ew. I understand the frustration, but he sounds super bitter and it's like he's punishing his fans.

His album is 1.99 this week on XBOX music deals app. His album production pretty hot but I just don't really enjoy his voice on the tracks that much.

I did listen to the album and I like only 2 songs.. idk it's not like this is some masterpiece, but then again I don't listen to a lot of his music.

All his albums over the past 15 years sound the same... and he's blaming people for not buying them anymore.

He made a second post in response to the uproar over him "quitting" (and funny how both posts have since been deleted). I remember his Breakfast Club interview where he mentioned that he released and funded a video for Shots Fired with Chris on his own and he was getting way more attention from radio programmers, DJs and clubs than the music from his previous albums but Atlantic wanted him to stick with the Urban AC sound. I wonder if he's going to 180 on the next project and stick to ratchet R&B that probably won't sell him many more records either.
