SO AMAZING! One of my favorite performances she's ever done. Wish I could have seen this when I see her artRAVE tour in Chicago. :(

As a Gaga stan, I actually thought it was a pretty terrible performance. Way too much screaming.

I didn't like it either. Way too affected, like she's playing a part instead of actually connecting with the song. She does that way too much.

...Can she drop the bullshit acting/screaming for a minute and give me the vocal slayage that I know she can deliver??? That was literally shit! I mean, I'm just over her at this point...

SO AMAZING! One of my favorite performances she's ever done. Wish I could have seen this when I see her artRAVE tour in Chicago. :( This might be the worst rendition of this song I have ever heard- fraught with so many moments of being off-key, failed head voice, screaming, and growling, which is inexcusable since she capable of much more. I'm not sure if this was intended to be an "artistic" version of the song.

Part of her schtick is playing a part. She's done that since she came on the scene as Lady Gaga, not Stefani Germanoodles. I have to side-eye anyone who thinks that's the problem, or at least those who used to enjoy the very same thing about her.
Doesn't mean she's pulling it off necessarily, just that the formula isn't the problem. She is the problem.

No, but she used to be able to really slay me with her performances and vocals... but now... it's lost all of it's freshness for me. It's just old. I like her music, but not nearly as much as her first couple of albums, and the performances have just gone downhill from there... Also, her personality recently has made it really hard for me to remain a "fan" of her's... she is essentially the female Kanye, in her mind, she is the savior of music, and everything she does must be groundbreakingly artistic and important, but it ultimately backfires and she just comes off as a tryhard.

Ummm, she is the saviour of music tho
Without her, pop music would have been SO boring these last few years. Katy, Rihanna and all those other girls are just the supporting cast. Beyonce is co-lead because of what she pulled with her last album but the others just add to what Gaga has brought. Even just waiting for a new Gaga album brings me life. Without that, there's nothing to look forward to.

I loved her jazz vocals!) just didn't do it for me, I enjoyed the singles and then "Venus", but then the rest... was just... boring to me. Same with "Born This Way", but "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster" were excellent!

I'm confident the next album will be a step in the right direction. I hope she works with new producers though. I feel like she's exhausted what she can do with DJWS.

I'm always willing to give her new music a chance, as I always end up liking/loving SOMETHING from each effort, so I can't wait for the new single/album!
I also hope to see a change in attitude with the new era, but that moment may never come.

I listened to Born This Way (album) for the first time in ages the other day. It sh*ts all over Artpop, TBH.

I'm afraid there is just no going back for Gaga. Every time I see her, I get the impression of a fallen star that doesn't really care for mainstream success anymore and is okay with smaller scale career. It's too bad, really.

If she's okay with success on a smaller scale, why is that too bad?

She doesn't want to be a basic pop bitch. She wants to fuck things up and make music that she identifies with, and she has a strong enough fan base to keep her popularity alive.

If she's okay with success on a smaller scale, why is that too bad? This board is extremely obsessed with being #1 and that is literally all that matters to some people. I guess that is natural for a charts-based board, but it is always strange to me when people act like not hitting #1 is some massive tragedy that should be mourned. Like, I have seen people claim that musicians should just retire after they stop hitting #1 like all of a sudden the musician doesn't want to do music at all anymore without #1s or ignoring the fact that the artists tours still make tons upon tons of money. I would like to see Gaga dominate again, of course, but she doesn't look like she wants to do what she would have to do in order to achieve that again so I guess its not really up to me to control her career/life. Ultimately, she is rich enough to just release and do whatever the hell she wants for the rest of her life.

Nice video and very nice numbers for artRAVE! She has a very strong and loyal international fan base, which I think is really going to help her longevity.

At the very least, she'll always be a Bjork/Lana Del Rey type artist. Huge fanbase, but no mainstream success. I think she'll continue to get "Applause"- support, but i think it's going to take a little bit more than just a "good single" to get people, the GP, to think Lady Gaga is cool again, and that it's ok to think she's cool. That's the obstacle.
She definitely still flourishes inside the gay community tho, as I work around it. So does Britney. It's amazing how "Work Bitch" is such a prominent dance track in a gay nightclub. You would've thought it was a #1 single by the amount of exposure it receives.

In Berlin concert, she made it very clear that gay fanbase is the one she cherishes and everything that comes in addition to that is a plus. I don't know if it's a good thing or not, by making music for gays she doesn't necessarily connect with casual pop fans at all any more. And she has connected recently, with Applause and DWUW, those were widely regarded as great pop songs, not just something that gay fans would appreciate.

An artist that shows their undying love for LGBT individuals is AMAZING. Especially when most of the industry hasn't done so for most of music history.

Exactly, a lot of mainstream artists seem to throw in support when it's convenient for their careers, or simply don't address the issue for fear of whatever. Gaga has been front and center supporting the LGBT community (arguably more than any other current, mainstream artist. She's supported gay rights even when it's been detrimental to her image, and for that I definitely supprt her.

I definitely support her for showing love to the LGBT community! That's a great thing! The one thing I don't necessarily agree with is her saying that they are basically the only fans that she cares about.... what about the others?
Anyways, I'm ready to hear some new music from her!
