The first few seconds or so don't even sound like Scotty It's just a different side of Scotty he hasn't shown before. His voice is a lot more diverse than many give him credit for. At 20 I'm sure he'll do a lot of vocal experimentation with songs in the future. You should hear him live, his voice is even better in person and he does so much with it on stage. It's the beauty of watching a young artist discover his vocal abilities. Yeah this sounds cheesy to say, but I'm sure it'll be said more on this thread...I'm feelin' it! Weird that he shows us a different side we have never seen before but only does it for a couple seconds.

Would you want an artist singing the same every note of the song? He has a lot of these cool moments on his album in different parts of the songs. Just like in "Blue Jean Baby" he gives his first falsetto note he's recorded, and its a couple seconds. It's called artistry. Like I said, he had a lot of fun recording this album and discovering new things his voice could do. I would tend to think fun things like that are a good thing! It's an awful pessimistic, nit picky view to think of something like that as questionable of any artist in general.

A lyrically awful (especially in the verses) brocountry song. Blech.
It'll probably be a hit because it fits into what country radio is playing. But it's not a good song.

The song is fun and its as good if not better then whats being played on country radio . country music is not all about my dog died, my wife left ,drowning my sorrows drinking my life away . I'm glad young people are taking over radio they are way more open minded about all types of country music .people need to get out of the bubble they are living in .

How in the world is singing about drinking, having sex, and partying all the time being open minded? To have full diversity on the country airwaves you need the party feel-good songs WITH the sad songs. THAT is what country music has always been about and THAT is the diversity that is lacking today (and women voices, obviously). And please note that my post has nothing to do with Scotty specifically so do not jump down my throat about him, thanks.

I mean you seem to get personally offended if someone doesn't like Scotty's single. you know this isn't a fan site right? regarding Feelin' It; i like the pick. i personally was hoping for can you feel it? but this song is pretty nice im thinking top 5, #1 if we're lucky. the only part i really dont like is the opening when he's telling us what flip-flops, waves, ray bans etc. are doing because reminds me a bit of that teaching lesson for little kids when you say "what noise does the cow make" but overall i like the song

But in the Summer time the last thing I want to hear is a song that is going to make me want to cry or feel bad. I want to hear beach songs, party songs, drinking and sexual oriented songs. That's what Summer is to me, just one hell of a good time. Now if its cold and gray, give me the sad stuff. I love listening to George Jones and the like in the Winter, but in the Summer, give me something that will risk getting me a speeding ticket.

Listened to the preview on iTunes and got about 10 seconds in and stopped once I hear the "kick back, relax" and "summer time feeling" lyrics. Too typical for me.

Official art is just the "CD Pro" imaging so I'll be mocking my own.

This will be going for adds on April 14, according to tonight's CAW. And it was shipped to radio today. I hope UMG gets it's act together and puts a banner out for this next week. I'm shocked there wasn't one tonight. Heck in Billboard there wasn't even a mention of the song going for adds on the calendar page, only on Aircheck's. Frankie's song goes 4/14 and he got a huge banner and a mention in both issue's calendars. So I'm thinking Scotty will get that next Monday. It's the last chance before adds. But with it shipping to radio today I was expecting a little something at least. I wonder what is going on with Mercury the way promote half heartedly it seems. There has already been discussion of that on Easton's thread.

lol maybe! I saw that today in my email. I actually attached it to page 1 in my first post but it's tiny. I couldn't blow it up as big as you did. Thanks. Hopefully Monday they will throw out the bells and whistles all the way. Now that Brad has been added to 4/14 there are 3 Summer songs going for adds that day: Brad, Frankie, and Scotty. Damn that's like 3 members of the same Party running for President. The vote/adds will be spit 3 ways with Brad probably getting the highest edge.

^ What I came up with for a single cover. What do y'all think? Not to knock your work cause it's always great when you do single covers but why don't they have somebody whip them up since it's not all that hard? Guess if they can save the money from paying a guy about an hours salary then they'll take it. Heck have the artist come up with something since it's their single, but I'm sure every penny saved counts. Good work as always though.

I just found out that "Feelin' It" just had it's first add and it is LA's Country station, #2 in the nation! It was among the very last to add SYT. I see this as a great sign for what will come in the next couple Mondays, especially the 14th!

For me, I use the single "art" to go with the single rather than a basic photo or worse, CD Pro. But I think UMG just doesn't care to invest much into the artwork for songs from already-released albums.

6 early adds today, including LA, Salt Lake and Minneapolis. I still can't access the addboard, but I know someone who told me the adds today. Looking forward to see what UMG puts in Aircheck tonight for promo to get ready for the big add day next Monday.

This looks like it will be in the Billboard Top 40 before it even cracks the Mediabase Top 50. Are the 2 chart's panels that different from each other now? That's quite a stretch!

It has more to do with Mediabase's points system than anything. It usually takes a while for MB to 'catch up' to BB as a result (for most songs, at least).

Yeah, even though "Feelin' It" was #42 on Billboard based on audience, it only ranked at #52 based on spins.
I still haven't heard it on the radio, so I'm hoping my local station adds it soon.

Well that's interesting. I never look at that, just the overall number. Luckily I live in Scotty's home base. Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, etc The NC stations are already all over this song. Too bad we can't access the addboard anymore to see the exact amount of spins per station.

Luckily I live in Scotty's home base. Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, etc The NC stations are already all over this song. Too bad we can't access the addboard anymore to see the exact amount of spins per station. There are other ways to see which stations are playing a song. You can check out the AllAccess "leaders" (7+ spins per week) report for the song below: www.allaccess.com/mediabase/q/report/leaders/song/MCCRFI++/format/C146 spins at KWEN in Tulsa is by far the most for "Feelin' It". 21 spins at KEEY Minneapolis in the past 7 days, 20 at WQDR in Raleigh, 19 at WXBQ in Johnson City, 19 at WPAW in Greensboro. Also, if you're savvy enough with url addresses (and for this it's really not tough), you can find the leading stations for any given song, and also the new stations. You just have to change "leaders" to "starters" in the address above and that shows which stations have given first-time spins to FI in the past 7 days. And to change songs, the coding is between the word "song" and "format". In this case, MCCR (first 4 letters of the artist's last name) and FI (acronym for the song). This one gets two + signs after it because "Feelin' It" is only 2 words. For example, "See You Tonight" would've been MCCRSYT+. If I wanted to look up the numbers for Tim's new single, it would be MCGRMBAM (MCGR for McGraw, MBAM for Meanwhile Back At Mama's). You used to be able to access the AddBoard via AllAccess but it looks like you can't see that anymore either.
