I like this, though not quite as much as "Helluva Life". I can see it doing well, though I wouldn't be surprised if it peaked in the lower end of the top 10 instead of going all the way to #1.

I surprisingly love this. It's definitely better than "Helluva Life" for me. This is gonna be a BIG summer song,

I really wanted "Sober Me Up" but I can see why this might be a safer choice for radio. Should be a decent-sized summertime hit. I can see this going #1, but it may take a little while to catch on like Billy Currington's latest single has. I wonder if there's any chance "Tell Me You Get Lonely" will see a re-release. I still can't hear that song enough.

Pretty predictable release, albeit somewhat disappointing. I have a soft spot for the insanely catchy, if completely disposable "I'm Thinkin' Country", so I was rooting for that or It Don't Take Much. Sunshine & Whiskey is a solid enough song, but the lyrics aren't too far removed from literally every other song being released right now ("body like an hour glass", "chillin at the beach with my Georgia peach") bleh. It is fairly catchy though, and it does stay just far enough from the hip hop beats that seem to be poisoning the genre right now. I could definetely see this being a hit. Maybe not a another #1, but I'd be very surprised to see this miss the top 20, likely the top 10. Frankie's album was really solid, but this just isn't the best representation of his material. I'm sure it's too much to ask for, but I'd love for Tip Jar to be a future single. That's the kind of abstract storytelling that country radio needs right now.

I feel like this is a very strong and very underrated album. "Sunshine & Whiskey" is my favorite, although there are several solid listens on this CD. Hope this one does well for him.

I enjoy this Album and feel like Sunshine and Whiskey was the right choice for second single. My favorite song is probably "Don't You Wanna Fall" but I'm not sure if it's single material or not.

I agree completely about "Don't You Wanna Fall". I don't wanna say it's "too dark", but I feel it just wouldn't thrive on country radio...This song on Rock radio maybe would be a hit. Still a great song, just not necessarily for country radio at this time.

Don't You Wanna Fall is my favorite as well (other than the phenomenal "Tell Me You Get Lonely") so I'm hoping that's third. "Sunshine & Whiskey" is the obvious choice for summer though and I assume it will be another hit for Frankie.

I am loving this tune. I really grew to like "Helluva Life" a lot as well the more I heard it on radio (the chorus was literally perfect for singing along with) but this one is getting stuck in my head almost instantly. The ooh-ooh-oohs are great and my favorite part of the song is the Don't wanna get a DWK / Drivin' While Kissin', they'll put you away. What a great line.
Hope it's another big hit for Frankie. I'll probably have to check out the rest of his album soon on the strength of these two singles. Oh, and thet single cover is... hot damn.

I haven't listened to the album yet but I listened to this song a few times today in my car and I really enjoyed it. Definitely going to be listening to this a lot. Hopefully this does good for Frankie. I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far.

Hopefully this does good for Frankie. I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far. It's doing great so far. As noted by @brian, it's #40 and that's after just 4 weeks on Billboard. He might be able to score back-to-back #1's here...this song seems like it should be a pretty big summer hit.

This song has been very strong so far for such a newer artist. The sales have really picked up, and it's currently at #26 on BB. Frankie could be looking at another big hit here, and what really impresses me is that its charted so well despite decent recurrent play for "Helluva Life". This song has grown on me too, it's a nice breezy summer time song that's pretty unoffensive and catchy.

I just love this tune and I'm glad it's been doing well thus far. This and "Helluva Life" were both incredibly solid and highly catchy radio singles, so I'd like to see this do about as well as that one did when all is said and done!

This is #10 on the iTunes country songs chart and sits at #45 on the all-genre. chart. It's had a great chart run for a second single from a new artist, and listeners seem to be eating this up. I expect this to take off airplay-wise as August moves along and the already great sales will get much better. Great summer song. I'm so happy to see Frankie achieving so much success.

www.frankieballard.com/sunshine-and-whiskey-official-videoThe video for the song is out now. This song seems like it's in line for another #1 for him. It's had some steady updates, and will be able to chart for a while longer because he's such a newer artist. Also, I have to say, the girl in this video is absolutely gorgeous.

With a bullet over 700, this one is on fire as it enters the top 5 today on Mediabase. This is looking like another #1 for Frankie. He'll have some competition from Little Big Town, but there's no reason that both of them can't hit #1. Keith Urban is likely too far back to be a threat, Chase Rice is done, Miranda & Carrie are done, and Brantley Gilbert is barely hanging by a thread.
Frankie is also a safe distance behind label-mate Blake Shelton so I don't think there'll be any trouble there either.

I'm pretty tired of this song now, but I'm glad to see Frankie having such success with it. It has another huge week, gaining over 4.5 million AI, and making an impressive 8-4* jump. He's looking like a great candidate to follow Blake Shelton to #1 at this point.

Glad to see that "Helluva Life" wasn't a fluke. Usually slow-climbing #1's are hard to follow up on.

Did "Sunshine & Whiskey" lose some sort of syndicated show spin yesterday? I can probably count on a single hand the number of times I've seen a song lose over a hundred spins in daily update and still continue climbing unless it lost some sort of extra spin on a syndicated show or some hourly airplay deal. "Day Drinking" was performed on the CMA award show and jumped about a hundred spaces on the iTunes all-genre chart, so I wonder if this sudden burst of momentum may cause an LBT song that was really slowing down to suddenly be a threat to Frankie Ballard's single.

On the rolling chart, Sunshine & Whiskey gained 135 spins. Its audience total is at 52.3 million. I'm sure someone will know the syndicated show part.

^S & W has gained 135 spins total in the past seven days on Mediabase, but yesterday/in today's update the single lost 105 spins. I don't usually discuss day-to-day updates, but this is a peculiarly large loss for one day, especially for a single that's been steadily climbing through the top 10 with no signs of struggling.

And if today's MB update is typical of the rest of the week, then it could finish behind Urban as well, although I doubt that will happen. Not saying it won't peak at #2, or even #1, I just don't see why it's guaranteed.

Yeah, that got my attention today when I saw Frankie's update. Little Big Town was not far behind at all yesterday so it's no surprise they leaped Frankie today, especially with the CMA's last night but this sharp loss is a surprise for me. Frankie now has only gained 28 total spins since Sunday and only 700k in audience so I'll be interested to see how this performs the rest of the week.

Frankie's update really stood out to me too today. I'm partly wondering if it's CMA related - the other artists at the top of the chart all had a presence last night, and I don't know if he was even there. But then Maddie & Tae had a great update, so who knows. I'd be concerned if it happens again tomorrow, but as a one-off, I don't think it's a huge deal.
