Going to do a track by track through my magical listening experience.
"The Sex": She makes silence golden. There was sound on the actual version. Oops lol. 10/10 lol. "My Gun": The live version was much better than this. I don't really like it... 6.9/10 "Like 'Em Young": Not my favorite. Nothing really special. 7/10 "Talking Body": I stated this in my thread for this, this is better suited for a male R&B singer. With that said, I still like it. Very sexy. Tove Lo can sing this to me anytime she wants. 8.3/10 "Timebomb": The verses are wayyy too wordy. It sort of brings this song down a point. But everything else brings this up. That chorus is magical. I don't know why, but the chorus on this sort of reminds me of Florence + The Machine? Easily one of my favorites despite the wordy verses. 8.6/10 "The Love": I was expecting a deeper accent on her. 10/10 though lol. "Moments": This is alright. Kind of forgettable. 7.4/10 This has grown on me in future listens. I like it now! 7.9/10 "The Way That I Am": So I have two versions of this, and I don't know which is on the album. There's one named '(Album Version)', but it's not the same time length as the album, while the other one is, but I'll review both. Really liking the dubstep influenced beat. Something about this makes me like it. Not my favorite though. This could make for a cool remix. 7.5/10 "The Way That I Am (Album Version)": So this one is more of a power ballad, and I think this version is better. It really brings out her vocals, which I thought were underpar in the other version. This also breaks up the album from the electropop that has been in the previous tracks. 8/10 "Got Love": Ooh, I like this. The chorus is great, and the verses bring a different sound to it. 8.3/10 "Not On Drugs": LOVE this song. This was my second favorite off of Truth Serum (behind "Habits" obviously). Beat, vocals, lyrics, this has everything. She sounds like Selena Gomez on this song (but not on others?), but that's surprisingly a compliment on this. 10/10 "The Pain": Still no accent lol. 10/10 "Thousand Miles": I reallllly like this. This doesn't seem to be that popular with people, but this is great to me. It's got a great melody and just overall sound. Plus this was produced by my boy Scribz Riley. 9.4/10 "Habits": 13-week number one on my personal chart. If you know me, you know what I'd rate this. 10/10 "This Time Around": This started off great, but the chorus was pretty underwhelming. The verses are decent, and her vocals are great as usual. This is another forgettable one though. 6.9/10 "Run On Love (QOTC Edit)": So I just now realized that QOTC stood for "Queen of the Clouds", I thought it was someone who remixed it lmao. #stoopid. I love the original to this, and I like this one also, but a little less. This is sort of similar, but with obvious changes. The original had more substance to it. But if I never heard the original, I would like this a lot more. 7.7/10
BONUS TRACKS: "Stay High (Hippie Sabotage Remix)": I have still yet to see all the hype in this. The original is 1,000,000,000,000X better than this. This is too repetitive, and her voice is annoying on it. I love the beat, it's just the way Hippie Sabotage used her vocals on the track that ruins it for me. 7/10 "Love Ballad": Ahh the first song released by Tove Lo. I find this just alright. It's nothing really special, but I still like it for what it's worth. 7.3/10 "Not Made For This World": This one is not on the actual album, but this was put in with the leak. Another forgettable one, probably why it was left off. 6.8/10 "Crave": Definitely a different sounding track. I really like it. It has different sounds melded into one. 8.6/10 "Not On Drugs (Ali Payami Remix)": Not on here either.
Overall rating: 8.3/10
Thoughts: This was a little more underwhelming than I hoped for. Truth Serum is currently my favorite album of 2014, and I was thinking this would surpass it. This will easily make Top 5 on my AOTY voting, but I was thinking a Top 3 lock for it. There were some forgettable ones on the album ("My Gun", "Like 'Em Young", "This Time Around") though there were some great ones ("Timebomb", "Got Love", "Not on Drugs", "Thousand Miles", "Habits"). Overall, this is my favorite pop album of 2014 (Talk Dirty being the only one that could surpass it), and I still love this and her.

I listened to "Moments" and "Timebomb" and they were okay. "Timebomb" is way too wordy in the verses. As for "Moments", I feel like it will grow on me. It wasn't bad, just forgettable. That being said, I'm still really excited about this album.

Ive been listening to the album the last couple days and it really is great. I can see here developing a following similar to Lana Del Rey.

Tove Lo Falls Into Fame: On ‘Habits,’ Opening for Katy Perry & Using Music as Therapy“Everything that I don’t really dare to say or speak about, I can sing about,” says the Swedish phenom. Tove Lo is still trying to figure out how to mentally ready herself for her quickly approaching arena shows opening for Katy Perry, but in terms of physical preparation, the Swedish singer-songwriter is already freaking out about dressing the part of a pop star. “At a shoot yesterday, a stylist asked me, ‘What are you planning to wear on the Katy tour?' I’m like, ‘Oh my God, f**k, I haven’t even though about what I’m going to wear!’” the singer tells Billboard, calling in while spending an afternoon poolside in Los Angeles. “I can’t wear what I usually wear [onstage] — I’m usually barefoot with, like, a t-shirt and jean shorts. I need to up my game.” Figuring out what to wear in front of thousands of Katy Perry diehards: it’s one of the trappings of accidental fame. Lots of artists brush off the idea of chasing fans once when they have begun accruing them, but Tove Lo has stumbled into a singing career without ever embracing the notion of becoming a full-time singer. “I thought, my career is going to be my songwriting,” the 26-year-old Stockholm native admits; she planned to manage an “artist indie career on the side” as an outlet for her more personal compositions. But then one of those revealing songs, “Habits (Stay High),” took off in the United States, nearly a year and a half after its April 2013 self-release. Opening with the line “I eat my dinner in my bathtub, then I go to sex clubs/Watching freaky people getting it on” and built around Tove Lo mewling “uh-uh” repeatedly, the song’s downbeat twitch unexpectedly took off at alternative and pop radio, and reached a new Hot 100 peak last week, now residing at No. 16 on the chart. The song, which also crossed the million-download mark last week according to Nielsen SoundScan, precedes Queen of the Clouds, a debut album so blisteringly honest and unapologetically uncensored that Lo is afraid people will see too much of her. “There are days when I’m like, ‘What am I doing? I’m so stupid. Everyone’s going to know everything about me,’” she says. “I’m giving away so much of a story that not even only mine — it’s also about another person, which you know can be very sensitive.” Indeed, Queen of the Clouds, due out Sept. 30 on Island Records, is about a breakup, just as Lo’s March EP Truth Serum detailed a poisoned relationship. The full-length goes to great lengths to provide a complete portrait of the singer’s romantic struggles (it’s divided into three sections: ‘The Sex,’ ‘The Love’ and ‘The Pain’) as well as of the singer herself, with biting refrains rooted in blunt self-examination. Lo holds nothing back on the sexual advances of “Talking Body,” examines fleeting chemistry on “Timebomb” and ends the chorus of “Moments” with the line, “I can get a little drunk, I get into all the don’ts/But on good days, I am charming as f**k.” “I started to use music almost like a therapist,” she says, “where it’s like, everything that I don’t really dare to say or speak about, I can sing about.” After growing up in a Swedish suburb under the name Tove Nilsson and attending Stockholm’s Rytmus Music School, Lo scored a publishing deal and started linking up with pop producers who wanted to explore her songwriting trove. She co-wrote “Ready for the Weekend” with her friends Icona Pop (she used to write music in a group with the duo’s Caroline Hjelt) and helped pen songs for Girls Aloud and Cher Lloyd. “Habits” didn’t make a dent in the U.S. upon its release in early 2013, but things started picking up when Lo signed to pop mastermind Max Martin’s songwriting collective at the end of last year; Lo continued her work with Ludvig Söderberg and Jakob Jerlström, the Swedish production team known as the Struts, whose development Lo says was greatly assisted by Martin. “I think it helps being Swedish,” Lo concludes. “We stick together, it seems like.” “Habits” started making its way to pop fans earlier this year, after Lo performed at South By Southwest and was shouted-out on Twitter by Ellie Goulding. Since then, the singer-songwriter was named a VH1 ‘You Oughta Know’ artist, an iHeartRadio On The Verge artist and one of the openers on Perry’s tour in Australia, which kicks off in November. And as "Habits" spends its third week in the Hot 100’s Top 20 and fifth week atop Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart, Lo’s debut album is arriving at precisely the right moment, with a performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Sept. 24 and a Sept. 30 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” primed to promote the full-length. “We want to get the body of work out so that people understand that [‘Habits’] is just one of several very strong singles,” says Island Records President David Massey. Although “Timebomb” and “Moments” were both released ahead of the album, there’s no official follow-up single yet, and won’t be for some time. “There’s four or five [potential singles],” says Massey, naming songs like “Talking Body,” “Got Love” and the previously released “Not On Drugs” as some of the tracks under consideration. Most of the masters for Queen of the Clouds were approved only a few weeks ago, after Lo worked on the album between Europe and North America on a portable studio she keeps in her grandmother’s old carry-on bag. With a short U.S. headlining tour that began Sunday night (Sept. 21) in Los Angeles serving as a warm-up for the arena dates with Perry, Lo will be spending the next few months away from home, and is adjusting to the life of an in-demand pop figure while still exploring the corners of the genre. “I like the darker-vein kind of stuff,” she says of pop music. “I get excited when bands like Fun. and Lorde get to the top — especially with [Lorde], she writes personal stuff that really strikes you. It’s about her, and the voice, the lyrics, the minimal beat… There’s a rawness to it that I really love, when it’s not too polished.” Source: www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop-shop/6259186/tove-lo-interview-habits-queen-of-the-clouds-katy-perry?facebook_20140922

I've had the album for a few days sans "My Gun" and I'm listening to it on iTunes radio. I like it; the intro is amazing.

very reassuring; all of the album's tracks barring timebomb are in the top 200 of itunes. listened to it on first play and my gun was great! really can't wait to buy this.
eta: so it looks like "not made for this world" is a spotify-exclusive track. not sure how to feel about that, but!

'The Sex' isn't bad at all, considering some of my faves are in there ("Talking Body" & "Timebomb"), but it holds ("My Gun" & "Like 'Em Young") which are probably my least two favorite on the album. There's a ballad version of "The Way That I Am" that was included in the leak, but they wen't with the dubstep one instead for some reason. The ballad version is really good while the album one is alright. Yeah, "Got Love" is sort of boring, but I still like it. And how is "Not On Drugs" boring? lol it's one of the more upbeat ones of the album. That one is my second or third favorite (possibly behind "Thousand Miles").

From Billboard:
‘Habits (Stay High)’ Singer Tove Lo Dishes About Her 5 Real-Life Habits
On her hit record, the upstart Swedish singer says she uses drugs to ease the pain. But in reality, she’s hooked on coffee, sleep and love.
Tove Lo is breaking out with her hazy pop jam "Habits (Stay High)" -- which moves 16-13 on the Oct. 4 Billboard Hot 100 -- from debut album Queen of the Clouds, due Sept. 30 on Island Records. Despite the song's lyrics, staying high isn't really a habit for the 26-year-old Stockholm resident, born Tove Nilsson. But she does have some other quirks she just can't shake.

1. The first line of "Habits" is "I eat my dinner in my bathtub." Tove Lo sleeps there too.
"I always take a bath when I come home drunk, and I sometimes fall asleep, which is bad. But I always wake up when the water hits my face. So far, I haven't drowned."
2. She leaves never-ending voicemails.
"Instead of just saying, 'Hey, call me back,' I record the whole thing I wanted to talk about and keep the conversation going, even though no one's answering me. I do that every time. It always pisses off my mom."
3. She drinks too much coffee.
"Every morning, I have at least two or three cups."
4. She forgets to turn the lights off in her apartment.
"I always leave them on, every time. I'm sure I'm going to come home after being on the road for four months and see that I left a light on. And I'm going to be like, 'Nooooo!'"
5. She falls in and out of love too easily.
"My whole album is kind of about that, the way my relationships go. That's definitely a habit."

Just got into this chick I really like her voice. I took the time to listen to the album and my faves are My Gun, The Way That I Am, Talking Body, Thousand Miles & This Time Around, I liked the entire album except for Timebomb which was way too wordy for me. Great album overall :)

Since it has been a few weeks since my original review of the album. I will post my updated rankings on the release date.
"The Sex" - No rating "My Gun" - Still haven't gotten totally into this, but it has grown on me. 7.3/10 (Up 0.4) "Like 'Em Young" - This is growing on me. I like it now. I still find it as one of the weaker tracks though. 7.6/10 (Up 0.6) "Talking Body" - Like this one a lot. Sexy Tove Lo is always good. 8.5/10 (Up 0.2) "Timebomb" - I'm warming up to the verses, but this is chorus is too damn infectious, like sh*t, it's almost too good. 9.3/10 (Up 0.7) "The Love" - No rating "Moments" - Growing on me even more. It started at a 7.4, moved to 7.9, and now I like it more. 8.2/10 (Up 0.3) "The Way That I Am" - This is turning into a highlight for me. Really love the vocals on this, I think it might be her best track vocally on here. Everything about this is great. 8.7/10 (Up 1.2) "Got Love" - Liking this a lot also. The chorus is soo catchy. 8.4/10 (Up 0.1) "Not On Drugs" - Not much to grow on since I've been jamming to this for months now. 10/10 (--) "The Pain" - No rating "Thousand Miles" - I'm absolutely in love with this song. This is my second favorite on the album (behind "Habits" obviously), as it surpassed "Not On Drugs". I hope this is a single at some point. 10/10 (Up 0.6) "Habits" - Favorite on the album and my 13 week leader on my personal chart. 10/10 (--) "This Time Around" - This is probably my least favorite on the album. It's forgettable. Nothing special imo. 7/10 (Up 0.2) "Run On Love (QOTC Edit)" - I still like the original much better. This is lacking something the original had. 7.7/10 (--)
Bonus Tracks: "Stay High (Hippie Sabotage Remix)" - Still not getting the hype of this. 7/10 (--) "Love Ballad" - Another older one. 7.3/10 (--) "Crave" - I wonder why this was left to the deluxe edition only. This is better than some of the tracks on the album. I would have included this over the unnecessary edit of "Run On Love". 8.8/10 (Up 0.2) "Not On Drugs (Ali Payami Remix)" - The only one I didn't review. This remix has nothing to it. It does absolutely nothing to the track. 6.2/10
Overall Rating: 132/160 or 8.3/10
It's a no change, but techinically it is higher since I put 10/10 for the interludes, where I didn't count them this time around.
So really... Last time: 136.2/170 or 8/10 - so this is really 0.3 higher for me.
