Other News
A few things to report this week. First of all, Christina Aguilera makes her first appearance in the top 5 in a decade! Her last top 5 hit was the #1 smash "Beautiful." Since then, the highest she has reached was #6 on "Hurt" in 2007.
In the debuts section, Celine Dion scores the 2nd hit off her new album "Loved Me Back to Life" and Ne-Yo makes the chart for the 2nd time with a modern legendary diva. He reached #26 back in 2010 teaming up with Mariah Carey on "Angels Cry." We'll see if he can best that peak with Celine.
We also welcome 2 new members to the AC wannabes group. First up is country singer Danny Griego. Now he qualifies in this category, because he has yet to score a big country hit. His 2007 album "Destination" failed to make a dent, but now he is trying again as an independent artist. Maybe he'll get something out of "The Coast is Clear" here in AC land. There is also a pop version of the single available on iTunes.
Also welcome Viennie V. She is an Asian-American singer-songwriter from California. Her first appearance on the chart is with "How Could You." (Great song worth checking out btw!). Can either of these new friends make an AC splash? Stay tuned!!
I will begin catching up more next week as this week is very hectic for me.
