I have seen projects scrapped before when singles under-performed miserably and the release date was never set. I don't think they will do that with someone of Gwen's status, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they regrouped and started over with a slightly redone project some time next year. I agree. The Voice is over. This album will probably be scrapped unless she is doing The Voice in the spring of 2016. When does that start? Since she's part of the Voice family, they will likely be nice to her and allow her to perform on the show, even if she's not a judge in the Spring or Fall.

Did "Shine" get shelved or scrapped too!? An LQ version leaked. I don't like it all. I've concluded that I pretty much hate their work together, save for like one song.

Gwen just announced on the Today show that she's going on a solo tour. Afterwards she's gonna hit the studio to record for a new album

What is she going to tour exactly with no material to promote? It's bad enough The Voice can't get any of their contestants a hit single, but now they can't even get their judges a hit single. I guess she and Usher can just keep throwing crap at the wall and hoping something sticks. At least Shakira had the decency to disappear after her failure.

So she just recorded random singles instead of a new album? Bye, Gwen.

Just like Usher, had the single(s) been a hit, the album would've had a release date by now.

Eeek. And the sad thing is Baby Don't Lie could have been a decent sized hit if she actually promoted it. Is it really that hard to write a song that doesn't sound like Spark the Fire?

Gwen Announces Solo Shows on Todaybeaconstreetonline.net/gwen-stefani/video-gwen-announces-new-solo-tour-on-todayIt’s official! Gwen appeared on Today this morning with a new interview and confirmed that she is set for her first solo show (with possibly more on the way) in over six years. On performing, Gwen says that “it never gets old” and everything is really exciting for her right now. She calls 2014 “the fastest year ever” and was full of surprises including having her third son, working on The Voice and her new third solo album. Gwen says that she’s been listening to her old songs again and re-learning them all. She admits that she doesn’t remember any of the lyrics from her past solo albums. “It was such a moment in time”. On recording her new album, Gwen says that she doesn’t have a plan and she is still hard at work in the studio. “I think when I did the original record there was a clear direction. This time it’s a little bit more open.”Gwen calls her and Pharrell working together again an unexpected surprise. “He has a gift to inspire you and motivate you.” She shared what it’s like trying to divide her time between songwriting and her family and calls it “crazy”. She’s thankful for her amazing team and husband Gavin. “You can try to be self-centered and all about you and that’s what it really takes to write songs. Trying to divide my time from being a parent and songwriting… it’s crazy. I do have a lot of incredible people around me,” including husband Gavin. “If I look back on the whole thing, the one thing that has been constant is that we both want the same thing. We both want to be married and be good parents and I feel really proud of what we’ve done together. You’re going to get me crying! [laughs] I’m going to get all emotional! But I do feel proud of it.” Gwen is confirmed for two performances in the next few weeks including performing at the Men’s Handball World Championship on January 24 and a MasterCard exclusive show happening in Los Angeles on February 7. No other dates have been announced at this time.

Soooo...she basically confirmed that an album was recorded and scrapped based on the failures of the singles. An artist of this stature should not have such a sloppy gestation.

I'm kind of excited for this tour. Hopefully it'll be in smaller venues than either of her last solo tours. I saw both and they're among the best concerts I've ever been to.

Out of curiosity, how many concerts have you been to? The Sweet Escape show was just OK. I didn't pay for it though, so I can't really complain.

In her defense, she was clearly not into the project. All of her previous comments make it sound very forced.

Gwen doesn't remember the words to her own songs? I know she's getting up there, but come on now. I remember the words to songs I haven't heard in 15 years, and I certainly didnt spend years of my life working on and promting them around the world.

By "original" i think she meant her two solo records. I don't know, i feel like she's doing these shows just because the MasterCard contract. I hope she releases the album, even if it flops or has no hit on it. But rn i think it's 50/50, it could go either way :|

I saw it at jones beach, and when she came into the audience she ran up my aisle and I TOUCHED HER AS SHE RAN BY. My sister also took a hilarious picture of her abs in the chaos. LAMB was also an epic experience for me, but my seats were rally bad (but that I still have such great memories and am actually getting chills wriitng this nevertheless says a lot).

I wonder if this album is actually going to come out. She doesn't sound enthusiastic about it all. From the start, it seemed like it was rushed to coincide with her spot as a judge on The Voice. And the singles were garbage. I hope she doesn't record any more records with Benny Blanco & co.....but that's doubtful, considering she's now signed to his Mad Love imprint through Interscope.

I can't see them scrapping this solo project, I hope she continues recording until they have something that's radio friendly.

Ok, wait, so we had an album and she scrapped it because the singles underperformed? No s**t they did, her team did jack s**t to promote 'Baby Don't Lie' and even less for 'Spark The Fire' short of a f**king FIAT commercial (and commercials haven't been hitmakers by themselves since, what, 2007?). What were they expecting to happen? I'm actually surprised she even cared that much about commercial success. She never struck me as the type.
I can't say I'm upset about it, though. The material was ok, but it was pretty hard to get excited about. Pharrell is a given, but I'm hoping to hear some brighter names on the billing this time.
