Agh. I was literally just starting this thread when I saw your post haha.
I've got 8 major label releases going for adds on the 28th now...wow.
I'll have to listen to this one again. I've only heard it twice from when I did the Rate The Music survey about 3 weeks ago or so. I liked it quite a bit but I knew I would need more listens to really gauge how I felt. In any case, I have sorely missed new ZBB material. They are a breath of fresh air given all the "bro" stuff out there.

This is the first single release without Atlantic backing up the Zac Brown Band. We'll see how it does.

This is the first single release without Atlantic backing up the Zac Brown Band. We'll see how it does. Atlantic was only the distributor for their albums, so not being on Atlantic now won't affect them at radio in any way whatsoever. All things radio-related came from Bigger Picture for their first 2 albums, then "The Wind" was promoted by RPM before Zac/Southern Ground hired their own promo team.

A song by my favorite current country act (ZBB) co-written by my favorite current male country artist (Eric Church) produced by one of my favorite people in all of music (Dave Grohl)? This is the perfect storm for me.
I really enjoyed the song when the Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 first came out; it's probably second behind the cover of The Wood Brothers' song "The Muse" for me. I love the harmonies throughout the song. I also love the way Zac sounds when he sings certain lines like How far I am from ok, ok let me tell you and You may not realize all the lies at the time but the truth will find you.
I'm not sure how radio will treat this one; I could see it stalling in the teens or becoming a big #1 hit with the former being the more likely outcome. I'm quite surprised they chose to release a song off the Grohl Sessions instead of releasing the lead single off their upcoming album.

Good on them for releasing something from this EP though I suspect it'll b carried over to the next album (their first self-issued album).

Wonder why they took 5 months for them to release a single from the EP? I don't believe that the Grohl Sessions CD is in any store only through the band's website.

I really like this. I'm not sure how well this will end up doing, but I like the sound of it. Dave Grohl's production is a good fit for the ZBB. I can see their mainstream radio success coming to an end, but I think they will end up doing well in other ways for a long time to come.

I'm wondering how high this'll debut, I'm thinking it might be the first one this year with a shot at a top 20 debut, but it'll all depend on how radio reacts obviously. I think they've got enough goodwill from radio to send it up quickly. Then again there's 4 new "big" singles out this week that'll all be flying up the chart which is the only reason I don't think it'll make it top 20 on first week. (The other 3 being Blake's "My Eyes", Brad's "River Bank" & Tim's "Meanwhile Back At Mama's").

I am just not feeling that possibility at all, unless it gets the Clear Channel debut but even then, top 20 is very hard to come by. I like this song a lot but I could see it struggling and falling short of the top 10. It's way different than most of the "hit" type of songs that radio has been jumping on for the last year or so.

Yeah as much as I like the song, I think a top 20 peak is far more likely than a top 20 debut. We shall see though, I'd love to be wrong.

I like this song a lot but I could see it struggling and falling short of the top 10. It's way different than most of the "hit" type of songs that radio has been jumping on for the last year or so. There's 3 reasons I'm thinking it would normally have a shot at a top 20 debut: 1st: Brad Paisley debuted at #29 with only Friday, Saturday & Sunday. "All Alright" is going to have a full week. 2nd: They've taken a small break between "Sweet Annie" & "All Alright" which should mean there's going to be room on airplay for this if SA has fallen a bit. Brad didn't take any time between "River Bank" & "The Mona Lisa". 3rd: Their Momentum is much much stronger than Brad's was, he was struggling with his previous singles ZBB weren't. Their situation should put them at a higher debut than Brad by a few positions at the very least, I also think that the lower half of the top 20 to the mid 20's is a weak group of songs overall in terms of charting power so radio will welcome a superstar's new lead single. As I stated the only reason I don't think they'll make it is because Blake, Tim, & Brad will all be gaining a lot this week as well and will eat some of the potential spins from Zac. This is just the way I see it obviously, maybe some stations won't take to the new material or lack of a major label being attatched to it or something else stupid and not play it but out of all the singles this year I'd place my bets on this debuting high.

^Brad had a high debut because his song was played every hour on 4/4 on Clear Channel stations like a lot of lead singles are. "All Alright" can't get that because it's not a lead single and only "world premiere" songs can get CC deals. Other than Clear Channel-world premiere songs, very few singles ever DEBUT in the top 30 (maybe Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, or Kenny Chesney could w/o a Clear Channel deal, but even for those five a debut in the top 30 is a stretch).
Also, this song doesn't even officially impact country radio for another two weeks, so it's not going to be zooming into the top 30 already and competing with Brad, Blake, and Tim, who all have new singles impacting today.

I like this song, but still really wish "Day That I Die" was released as a single.
It's just such a shame to leave that one as an album track.

I'm really surprised they chose to release this song. First of all, I feel like Uncaged and Island Song from the Uncaged album would be two good 5th single choices for the summer. Second, I think Day for the Dead would have been a much better choice for radio personally if they insisted on releasing something from the Grohl Sessions. I'd be surprised if All Alright does well. I feel like they're just releasing it to keep a little buzz going before the new album, which is maybe coming out later than they originally wanted it to.

I know this doesn't go for adds for another week--but it was made available to radio a week ago and didn't even chart tonight. It's New & Active on Billboard but with just 237k after its first full week at radio.
15 early adds at MB today, and I'm confident that this will get a boatload next week. And I'm also certain that this will go at least top 20 based on name recognition alone. But I think these early results dispel the possibility of a top 20 Billboard debut. I don't even think this will debut in the top 40.

No surprise here, but I am not a fan of this song at all. I find very few songs of theirs tolerable, let alone good, but this is not one of them. However, it isn't nearly as terrible as "The Wind". But I really wouldn't mind this "flopping" (for their standards) like that one did.
Zac, please give us more songs like "Colder Weather" and "Free".

Debuts at #53 on Billboard this week. This song is really growing on me, I like it better after each listen. I wonder if some of the instrumentals, or the "Dave Grohl" influence, will be too much for some listeners. I love ZBB, they're such a great throwback to some of the great groups from the 70s and 80s, but they still sound original at the same time.

This has such a throwback, retro sound, and it really reminds me of classic southern rock from the '70s.
I'm not sure how "All Alright" will do on current country radio, but it's certainly a breath of fresh air amid our polluted airwaves.

^ Same here. I love the sound of this song, but I feel like I'd rather hear Eric Church singing it.

I wonder why they sent this to radio.
Isn't Zac working on a new album?
Shouldn't they give radio a break until the first single from their new albums drops?

Their plans are indeed a bit unclear, but this may very well be on their upcoming full-length? album. They did have a small break, though. Their last single peaked in mid/late January, so they've been absent from the radio for a good 2.5 to 3 months now (with new material, that is).

Man, I can't get enough of this. Amazing production and lyrics, and their harmonies have never sounded better.
The sound reminds me of something I've heard before, but I can't pinpoint it.

This is my first time on here so I'm not sure I know what I'm doing just yet but...Would someone be able to tell me what's happening with ZBB's new single "All Alright" at this time on May 16, 2014? I love their sound and I really like this song but it's not getting any airplay in my part of the world. I live in Wisconsin and I'm not even hearing their older tunes. Their songs were played everyday and they've been selling out with their concerts but now since "Sweet Annie" they're not being heard much on the radio. I don't believe their new single is even on the top 40. They're too talented to just be forgotten about on the radio. What gives?

First of all welcome. :) Secondly I would suggest having your font in normal size so it's easier for people to read. As for "All Alright", it sits at #37 on Mediabase this week with a healthy bullet of 223 and is in Billboard's top 40 today as well. It's only been at radio for a couple weeks, so it still has almost it's entire chart run ahead of it. No worries right now about this song or ZBB. As for their older tunes, every station is different when it comes to recurrents. Here in Buffalo I still hear "Goodbye In Her Eyes" and "Chicken Fried" quite a bit so it all depends on what station your listening to. Hope I helped. :)

If you give me the call letters of your station, I can tell you if All Alright is being played there. Sabre14's explanation was spot on. Three weeks and at #37 is not bad.

First of all, I don't know how to change my font in this site.(Sorry). I tried to get in this site today that I was in last night, using my password zbbgoboysgo, and it kept saying that wasn't my password so I made up another one ktfb3zbb and it went through yet my password is still Zbbgoboysgo in the site. Did I do something wrong? Just wanted you to be aware of my PW problem. I don't know which one I should use now. Anyway, thank you for your answer on the song. You're the only one that bothered to do so. I hope their song makes it to the top. You did make me feel better. I hope to be hearing ZBB's new single soon on my stations I listen to. Again, thanks!
