What are some of the most forgotten songs that made it to the top five on CHR but lacked recurrent airplay or for whatever reason it just feels like they've largely been forgotten about and seemingly been never played since their peak?
4 Minutes by Madonna is the first one that comes to mind for me :'(

Only one I can co-sign with so far is 3. Which almost went number one, anyone care to speculate how it faded into the black like that?

It was legitimately awful.
Though Circus seems to have faded too, though I heard it on the radio the other day - so maybe not. It had been quite a while though.

Didn't "According To You" by Orianthi go Top 3? I can't even remember how the song goes. At least the other ones mentioned- I vaguely remember the songs listed here (minus the iconic 3 + Lovegame- they're still on repeat all the time on my phone)

How far back can we go? There were a few from the mid to late 90s I'm sure can apply.

Yeah it did go top 3 though.

"I Cry" by Flo Rida is only a year and a half old and I often forget about it when I think of Flo Rida's singles. It peaked at #4.

Some that I can hardly recall hearing since they were on the chart (2007-10):
"Kiss Me Through the Phone"-Soulja Boy f/ Sammie (I had to look this one back up; I couldn't remember anything by SB other than "Crank That") "Wait for You"-Elliot Yamin "Sexy Can I"-Ray J f/Yung Berg "Dangerous"-Kardinal Offishall f/ Akon "BedRock"-Young Money f/Lloyd "Do You Remember?"-Jay Sean f/ Sean Paul & Lil Jon (Ironically named? Yes I remember this one, barely.) "Hate That I Love You"-Rihanna f/Ne-Yo (umpteen Rihanna hits and this always seems to get overlooked, though I did hear it in the liquor store a few weeks ago. I hated that they were out of their advertised special that day. :) )

I think out of all of Lady Gaga's top 5's, "LoveGame" & "Alejandro" are the most forgotten of all. Which sucks considering I love both songs...

Top 5 on CHR, not Hot 100. oh, sorry. I always thought CHR was just short for chart tbh.

The first one that comes to mind for me is Pop by 'N Sync. This and Eminem's Just Lose It were the first to pop into my head once I read the questions. There are obviously others, but these two were absolutely gargantuan in popularity when they released these which is why they stick out I guess.

In terms of #1's: Katy Perry - "Waking Up In Vegas" Iyaz - "Replay" Ke$ha - "Your Love Is My Drug" P!nk - "Perfect" Katy Perry - "The One That Got Away" It's refutable to say "Die Young" because even though it pretty much burned in hell after Sandy Hook (and we can blame the killer of those little kids for ruining Ke$ha's career), but it has gotten a lot of recurrent play.
Without #1's I can also think of "The Lazy Song", "I Cry"... I probably forgot the rest.

Top 5 on CHR, not Hot 100. oh, sorry. I always thought CHR was just short for chart tbh. CHR stands for Contemporary Hit Radio, which is also considered "pop" most of the time.

I keep thinking of songs that peaked at #6, lol.

"Obsession (No Es Amor)" - Frankie J "Sunshine" - Lil Flip "Stickwitu" - Pussycat Dolls (can't believe this went to #1) "It's Not Over" - Daughtry (I think "Home" is still somewhat remember, but this one is toast)
I don't agree with "Second Chance," although that's a function of my music taste and where I live. "Perfect" and "The One That Got Away" live on in AC/Hot AC circles.
"4 Minutes, "Wait For You" and "According To You" are all definitely gone.

I believe Bieber's been struggling to gain recurrent airplay as well. "Beauty And A Beat" isn't even in the top 100 Recurrents anymore, I think.
