I thought I would create this thread to show what was played on my iPod's special playlist Throwback Country Hits! I came up with that plays NOTHING but Country Music from 2007 and before 2007 ONLY. I set the limit of songs to 30 mins a day (Tuesday through Saturday) while on Sundays and Mondays on my day off I set it to 1 hour of airplay. Today's list was 1 hour long. Here goes nothing. This is on shuffled mode, I love it because you have no clue what is getting played next.
Tell me what your list is like on your devices.
1. Mary Chapin Carpenter- "Never Had It So Good" (1989) 2. Montgomery Gentry- "My Town" (2002) 3. George Strait- "I Hate Everything" (2004) *#1 in 2004 4. Josh Turner- "She'll Go On You" (2002) 5. Alabama- "(There's A) Fire In The Night" (1984) *#1 in 1985 6. Alabama- "Love In The First Degree" (1981) *#1 in 1981 7. Toby Keith- "Double Wide Paradise" (1998) 8. Blackhawk- "I Sure Can Smell The Rain" (1994) 9. Conway Twitty- "Linda On My Mind" (1975) *#1 in 1975 10. Lonestar- "When Cowboys Didn't Dance" (1996) 11. Conway Twitty- "Goodbye Time" (1987) 12. Randy Travis- "Are We In Trouble Now" (1996) 13. Diamond Rio- "This Romeo Ain't Got Julie Yet" (1993) 14. Conway Twitty with Sam Moore- "Rainy Night In Georgia" (1993) *Conway's last single before he died 15. Reba McEntire/Vince Gill- "The Heart Won't Lie" (1993) *#1 in 1993.
Will post Tuesday's 30 mins list tomorrow!!!

No worries , JMC is an artist I always buy his music as soon as the CD comes out...Shame he never got any bigger. He's had some good music come out since falling from the public eye. Oddly that song is one of my least favorites of his, I have to be in a certain kind of mood to really enjoy it, otherwise it's a "skip" song for me. At the time, though I was big into it.

Trisha Yearwood- "Where Are You Now" (2000) Trisha's song is a severly underrated single from her. I don't see it mentioned a lot but it's one of my favorites from her, love the lyrics to that one.

4. Faith Hill- "Let Me Let Go" (1998) #1 in 1998 I would hear this song all the time when I was a kid riding in my parents car. Certainly one of her forgotten hits. :)

Sunday's Throwback List (1 hour) of music with all music all before 2008!!!
1. Big And Rich- "Loud" (2007) *a song that should have never been a single 2. Neal McCoy- "If I Was A Drinkin' Man" (1995) 3. Dierks Bentley- "My Last Name" (2003) 4. Miranda Lambert- "Kerosene" (2005) 5. Diamond Rio- "Unbelievable" (1998) #2 in 1999 6. Phil Vassar- "Just Another Day In Paradise" (2000) #1 in 2000 7. Brad Paisley- "Letter To Me" (2007) #1 in 2008 8. Tracy Byrd- "Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo" (2002) #1 in 2002 9. Tommy Shane Steiner- "What We're Gonna Do About It" (2002) 10. Garth Brooks- "Learning To Live Again" (1993) 11. Jo Dee Messina- "You're Not In Kansas Anymore" (1996) 12. Toby Keith- "Big Ol' Truck" (1995) 13. Kellie Pickler- "I Wonder" (2007) 14. Sawyer Brown- "Treat Her Right" (1996) #3 hit in 1996 for Sawyer Brown 15. Little Texas- "First Time For Everything" (1992) 16. Trisha Yearwood- "On A Bus To St. Cloud" (1996)
I still think to this day that Tommy's single would've done better at radio if it were just him singing the song and not having a female (Bridgette Wilson) narrating the song by her chuckling or laughing like she was talking on the phone or something close to that nature. "What We're Gonna Do About It" peaked at #43 in late 2002.

"The House That Built Me" (2010), "Heart Like Mine" (2011), "Only Prettier" (2010) and the 2 songs by the Pistol Annies are all NOT throwback yet either. The song has to be from 2007 and before to be considered throwback in my opinion.
