I'm waiting for "Heart On My Sleeve" so Avicii can release the official vocal mix with Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons.

I don't see this doing very well over here. It's coming off of an underperforming single, so it won't have the instant momentum "Hey Brother" got from "Wake Me Up".

it's such a shame that "lay me down" hasn't been released yet, although i do like "addicted to you"..."hey brother" didn't make any sense as a single.

Hey brother didn't underperform, in fact was way more successful than any of his previous singles (with Wake me up exception of course). It was top 10 on pop (top 20 on billboard hot 100) with a pretty decent chart run. I heard this song a lot of times but i didn't knew it was an avicci's song. The song is very good and the video is great

Avicii will most likely never have another hit as big as "Wake Me Up." Yes, "Levels" was huge, but "Wake Me Up" was way bigger. "Levels" will probably be much better remembered than "Hey Brother", though. "Addicted To You" might be bigger than "Hey Brother," but it won't come even close to "Wake Me Up."

Maybe a relative underperformance compared to WMU but not an absolute one. It still made top 10 with a decent chart run and recurrency. The only thing that probably hurt HB would probably be that it spanned through two different years. "Addicted To You" is still pretty current and has a kickass video so I wouldn't have a problem with this flopping unless it doesn't peak at top 20. The way I see it, it should be as big as HB. Normally, Top 10 pop and Top 20 Hot 100 would be amazing, but when your song is the follow up to a 4x-platinum #1 pop and #4 Hot 100 hit, not to mention the most played song in Spotify history, that's definitely underperforming. Avicii will most likely never have another hit as big as "Wake Me Up." Yes, "Levels" was huge, but "Wake Me Up" was way bigger. "Levels" will probably be much better remembered than "Hey Brother", though. "Addicted To You" might be bigger than "Hey Brother," but it won't come even close to "Wake Me Up." What kind of reasoning... So if you're right with that, then "Last Friday Night", "I Wanna Go", "LoveGame", "Shake It Off", "Teenage Dream", "Telephone" and other songs like them, that reached #1 but weren't as successful as the singles that preceded them are basically flops. I don't think so.

One never know what song is going to be remembered. Losing my religion was number four but right now is better known that practically all number ones of that year, but the truth is in the USA (and in a lot of countries) Hey Brother was way more successful than Level or i could be the one. It's Hey brother what makes Avicci avoid the one hit wonder label (i know that he won't be a true one hit wonder because he had previous top 40 hits but both were miles away of the success of Wake me up). It's not that rare not getting another hit, big or small, after an smash hit, and we have recent examples like Gotye or Alex Clare (maybe they will have another one in the future, maybe not). He could perfectly won't have another song as successful as Wake me up, as Carly Rae Jepsen probably won't have another Call me maybe. I highly doubt that Wake me up will be the measure of his career, probably more one of his highest points

I don't think so. Those songs were all way bigger than "Hey Brother" was. I'm not saying any song that follows "Wake Me Up" but is less successful than it is an underperformance. I'm more specifically referring to a song at "Hey Brother"'s level. One never know what song is going to be remembered. Losing my religion was number four but right now is better known that practically all number ones of that year, but the truth is in the USA (and in a lot of countries) Hey Brother was way more successful than Level or i could be the one. OK, technically, "Hey Brother" was a bigger hit than "Levels," but i'm 99% sure that "Levels" will be the better remembered song in, say, 5 years. IMO, "Wake Me Up" will be his best remembered song; "Levels" will be also very remembered; "Hey Brother" and "I Could Be The One" will be mostly forgotten.

About "Levels," while it may still be his best remembered song in Europe, I think Wake Me Up is easily his best known song over here. One thing I do agree on is that "Levels" will be more remembered than "Hey Brother." Also, about someone mentioning "Slow Down" compared to "Come & Get It." That's exactly what I mean.

Also, about someone mentioning "Slow Down" compared to "Come & Get It." That's exactly what I mean. Which is still a hit in any way shape or form. "Unconditionally" was an underperformance. A flop. "Hey Brother" isn't a flop. Maybe a relative underperformance compared to WMU but not an absolute one.

Here's how I'd put things for follow-ups to recent breakthrough singles on pop. Hit: "Team," "Can't Hold Us," "Stay The Night" Underperformance: "Hey Brother", "Chasing The Sun," "Give It 2 U" Flop: "Lose Yourself To Dance," "All Night," "Stubborn Love"

"Hey Brother" was top 10 though. With recurrency. I'd say a better comparison would be "C'mon" to "Die Young."

Frankly, i don't think people will remember Levels at all, the fact it has exactly the same sampler that Good Feeling and being less successful than Flo Rida's song don't make it exactly a memorable song (and i don't think Good feeling will be remembered in five years either)

In any event, "Addicted To You" is awesome, but the credits bother me more than they ever have. This song is not an EDM song. Not even a little. It's a generic pop song with a KILLER vocal performance, and to act like anyone other than Audra Mae is the star of this song is insulting. While not quite as offensive as "Apologize" by Timbaland FEATURING OneRepublic, Avicii getting the sole credit is really annoying. There's nothing signature to him or his style at all.
