It's official: Warner Bros. is sticking a fork in 19 You + Me. That will go down as a #11 country airplay hit and a #10 peaking MediaBase hit. Hopefully, Dan + Shay can get into the top ten on ALL country charts with this one.

They could have pulled the next single out of a hat and it would have been a good choice with how strong their album sounds. This is a good choice, I have no complaints. Stop Drop + Roll and What You Do To Me would have been good choices as well. I can't imagine this flopping, it's so catchy that it should reach the top 20 just on that strength alone.

I can't believe they're not releasing "What You Do to Me." This is a good song but imo nowhere near as definite a hit as WYDTM.

Dan + Shay have said multiple times that this is their favorite song to sing live. They love getting people involved with the "Ey oh, ey oh, when a guy like me. Ey oh, ey oh, gets a girl like you".
It also seemed to be the song that they loved to play the most on their promotional videos for their radio tour. Plus it's the first track on the record and is a good summertime type single. So not that surprising they chose this as the follow up.

Completely agree, I'm honestly disappointed in this choice. Dan + Shay debut album is full of solid tracks, they certainty had plenty of options. I'm not sure "Show You Off" was the best choice.

I love a couple of songs from their debut album, but I'm quite disappointed with this single choice as well. With 19 You + Me just missing out the Top 10, their album debuted at #1, opening tour slots and all the hype, I still think this would do great for the duo.

The sound of Dan + Shay is pretty much 2001 Rascal Flatts.

Definitely not a memorable song for me. I don't see this being successful at radio. Top 20 I'm sure but not a top ten. I don't hate the song, it just does nothing for me and seems over produced like much of what's on radio is.

I love this as a single choice and I would be surprised if it doesn't do well. Let's put it this way, I saw them back in September when I barely knew who they were, and this song was the one I remembered the most (besides 19 You and Me). Very catchy and a fan favorite. Like churchchoir said in the 19 You and Me thread, hopefully radio will realize the following these guys have and play their music more.

I would have preferred "Stop Drop + Roll" or "What You Do To Me", but this is radio friendly, and should do pretty well.

I don't like this as much as "19 You + Me", but it's still really catchy. Should do well, hopefully, although I would've preferred a few other songs ("What You Do To Me", "Stop Drop + Roll", "Parking Brake").

While I do agree that there isn't a bad song on this album and they really couldn't go wrong with the next single, "What You Do To Me" and "Stop Drop + Roll" are far better songs than this one and it really should have been one of those next. But this song is also great and I really hope this can be a big hit for them; they deserve it.

Unless the radio sea tide changes and power ballads like "I Heard Goodbye" are allowed from new/newish acts, I would expect the two songs you mention to be singles #3 and #4 (jn that order), unless "Parking Brake" or something else replaces "Stop Drop + Roll."

Is there a chance that "Somewhere Only We Know" or "First Time Feeling" will become singles, i could easily see either one of those smashing!

This one is off to a very strong start. It's #33 on Billboard after only 4 chart weeks. The sales are a little bit low so far (compared to other songs with similar airplay) but I think this one will start to catch on digitally in a big way once it gets into the 25-30 range at radio and more listeners are exposed to it.
Talk about a crazy discrepancy between Mediabase and Billboard positions, though. On the published charts from Monday, as mentioned above, "Show You Off" was way up at #33 on BB but it finished the week at only #41 on Mediabase. SYO has 716 spins on MB as of today and Easton's song has 1223 but SYO is ahead of Easton on BB. It seems that Dan + Shay are getting more big station, high-audience spins, whereas Easton's song has probably been getting a lot of overnight, small-audience spins.

Not a huge fan of the song, but I think it's the vocals that turn me off. I want to like Dan + Shay, I really do. They're extremely talented and passionate about music. I believe it's Shay that sounds exactly like a more talented version of Gary LeVox to me.
As far as songs go, I prefer "What You Do to Me" over this. I prefer it when it's acoustic, though. I checked some of their acoustic performances out on YouTube after I heard "19 You + Me" and that's when I found out that ven though their vocals aren't my cup of tea, they are excellent vocalists from a technical standpoint.

I still have yet to hear this on the radio or "the highway" I thought it was sent to radio like the first week of may.

This is really catchy, and I've liked both singles from these guys.
Shay sounds like a cross between Gary Levox/Keith Urban on this.

But that doesn't mean every single station starts playing it right away. This song is probably only getting played on about half the stations on the panel (those that contribute to the chart numbers) right now.

This had a very healthy bullet of over 100 not too long ago. But the last several days the updates have been worse and worse. At this rate the bullet could be negative by the end of the week! I thought these guys were being set up to be radio's new "flavor of 2014." I wonder if this will pick back up or radio just wants something else from them!

I thought these guys were being set up to be radio's new "flavor of 2014." I wonder if this will pick back up or radio just wants something else from them! This is nowhere near done. It's only 5 weeks old, lol, and it gained 1.2 million on last Monday's chart before slowing to a crawl this week. It posted a small gain today, too. I just think it started off hot because a lot of big market stations were excited about it and jumped on it quickly, hence why it got into the 33-35 range on Billboard but has yet to crack the top 40 on Mediabase. What we're probably seeing is this one leveling off and not yet getting higher conversions at any other stations to offset the lack of increases at the bigger stations, if that makes sense. I am sure that this will start trending upward again in the coming days and into next week. I think the big problem is the amount of new releases right now...the 20's on the chart look downright scary (Dierks, Brantley, Lady A, EYB, Cole, ZBB, Eric) and with other big releases coming soon, it's going to be very tough for a lot of the newer acts in the 30's to convert to higher levels of audience. So in that regard it makes sense that Dan + Shay would slow up a bit so as to not get caught up in a big log-jam where 9 out of the 10 songs are from much bigger artists. That's looking to be what the problem is for artists like Eli Young Band, the Swon Brothers, and Big & Rich, given the big names that they're surrounded by.
