Looks like they deleted it, so maybe not anymore, but they did tweet this around 6:20: "maroon5: Big news coming tomorrow. #albuM5"

I wonder where they're heading, sound-wise. I loved their most recent album - despite the increasingly vanilla single choices, I thought the album was quite solid overall. "Lucky Strike" and "The Man Who Never Lied" were certainly missed opportunities, but I'm ready and excited for another album.
Also, everyone probably thinks it's stupid and cheesy but I find that "albuM5" hashtag to be pretty clever.

I know they got a little flack for going so pop, but I enjoyed their last album overall. But I wouldn't mind to see them go back to their roots, either--recently listened to Songs About Jane and forgot how good that was as a whole.

I would love to see them head back in the direction of Songs About Jane (easily my favorite album of theirs and one of my favorites period). I like their pop material too, but the...edginess? of their earlier material makes it more interesting than the newer stuff (especially when it's played 60+ times per week on HAC and pop radio). Any idea if former keyboardist Jesse Carmichael is back with them yet (he left last time around to work on side project JJAMZ, which resulted in a nice album that did absolutely nothing)?

I remember an interview back before the last album came out where they said that Jesse would be coming back for future album cycles along with PJ.

As long as there is another AOB-sounding YT reggae flavored bop like One More Night, I'll be happy.

I'm excited, even though they're a full blown Pop group now. Them being an Alternative/Pop band days are long gone. I would like something a lot less "bubbly" this era. The last had an extremely high burnout rate.
I don't think it's completely farfetched for me to get another "HANDS ALL OVER"-esque type of album. That is the last album I truly enjoyed from them.

I'm so excited, I've liked all their albums so far!!! Although I loved Songs Like Jane, they've progressed, so not expecting this to sound like it! #ifonly
My rankings: 1. Songs Like Jane - Can't get better than this!!! Perfect era tbh! 2. Hands All Over - So energetic, and just a solid pop release! 3. Overexposed - Even though this burned out, it still is a great album, and I enjoyed the early singles A LOT! The last half of them were meh though... 4. It Won't Be Soon Before Long - Honestly never really listened to this one, but it's still good, at least all of it I remember anyways!

They have done pop better than very few artists, as evidenced by "Daylight" being my all-time favorite M5 song. Therefore, my favorite album of theirs is Overexposed. There wasn't a single song I disliked.

Album ranking time? I think so.
1. It Won't Be Soon Before Long 2. Songs About Jane 3. Hands All Over 4. Overexposed
I'll always love Levine's voice, but I'm hoping the material is more my style this time. Their last album did have some jams though.

OOOH rankings!! My fave thing about Pulse!!1!!11!!
1. Overexposed 2. It Won't Be Soon Before Long (for Not Falling Apart and for the origin of my original Pulse name theonlyway (i.e. Nothing Lasts Forever) ALONE, but the rest of the album was pretty damn great) 3. Songs About Jane (probably had their most memorable singles but way overplayed AND overhyped...plus, I have long since moved on from that pop-rock/alt/whatever style) 4. Hands All Over

Up front, I enjoy them all a great deal, I don't know if there's a song they've released I can say I don't enjoy. The only part of a song I don't like is Wiz's rap during Payphone.
My rankings:
1) It Won't Be Soon Before Long - I played this album so much when it came out, and it's probably the one I know best. Lots of favorites, including the b-sides 2) Songs About Jane 3) Hands All Over 4) Overexposed

I'm gonna revisit each album before I give my definitive ranking. That said, I don't believe they've made a "bad" album yet.

The summer music market is so crowded, would have preferred they wait until September to drop the single

People are so original with their album titles: Ed Sheeran - "x", Rita Ora - "O", Maroon 5 - "V". Lol.

The least relevant point in this article about the potential song of the summer this year, and perhaps the least surprising: an uptempo lead single is coming in about a month.

So a similar release schedule to "Payphone"/Overexposed is to be expected.

Happy to hear it's an uptempo. I'd love a retro uptempo like "Makes Me Wonder". Would fit in with the sounds of the moment, while still being very Maroon 5 and not trend chasing.
