'I've Got Friends That Do' & 'Blank Sheet Of Paper' from Tim McGraw; if the former had been sent to radio right after Christmas in 2007 instead of the underwhelming 'Last Dollar', there's little doubt in my mind that it would been a multi-week chart-topping smash.

(I feel like there’s another thread for this but can’t find it...)
Listening to a Marty Smith podcast with Kip Moore, he said the label was between “Reckless” or “Crazy One More Time” for the 4th single off Up All Night, but he was ready for new music and gave the label “Young Love”.

I’ll revive this since the last post was more than 5 months ago.
Kenny Chesney • "Flora-Bama" (The Big Revival) • "Some Town Somewhere" (Cosmic Hallelujah) • "Winnebago" (Cosmic Hallelujah) • "Trip Around the Sun" (Cosmic Hallelujah)
Lady Antebellum Need You Now • “Love This Pain” • “Perfect Day” Golden • “Better Off Now (That You’re Gone) - Should’ve been the second single, especially going into the summer • “It Ain’t Pretty” • “And the Radio Played” 747 • “Lie With Me” - Again, should’ve been the second single. • Title track • “Sounded Good at the Time” Heart Break • “Good Time to Be Alive” - I can see why they chose YLG, but this would’ve been a bigger hit • “Hurt”
Tim McGraw • “Overrated” (Sundown Heaven Town) • “Dust” (Sundown Heaven Town) • “California” (Damn Country Music)
Maren Morris • “Sugar” (Hero)
Darius Rucker Learn to Live • Title track Charleston SC 1966 • “Southern State of Mind” - Such an obvious single choice, I wish IGN didn’t underperform the way it did • “I Don’t Care” True Believers • “Lost In You” Southern Style • “Need You More” • “Down Here” - Screams summer smash When Was the Last Time • “Hands On Me” - Streamed so much better than the rest of the album tracks • “Life’s Too Short”
George Strait • “Shame On Me” (Here for a Good Time) • “It Was Love” (Love Is Everything)
Carrie Underwood Carnival Ride • “Flat On the Floor” • “Get Out of This Town” • “Crazy Dreams” Play On • “Songs Like This” • “What Can I Say” Blown Away • “Do You Think About Me” • “One Way Ticket” Storyteller • “Relapse”
Brett Young • “You Ain’t Here to Kiss Me” (Self titled) • “Olivia Mae” (Self titled)
Zac Brown Band Uncaged • “Day That I Die” Jekyll + Hyde • “Remedy” • “Young and Wild” • “Dress Blues” - Probably would have flopped, but it’s a great song.
Other • Jason Aldean: "This Nothin' Town" (Night Train) • Kelsea Ballerini: "XO" (The First Time) • Kane Brown: "Found You" (Self titled) • Dustin Lynch: "Love Me or Leave Me Alone" (Current Mood) • Old Dominion: "Not Everything's About You" (Happy Endings) • Reba: "Enough" (Love Somebody) • Thomas Rhett: "Playing With Fire" (Tangled Up) • Keith Urban: "Boy Gets a Truck" (Ripcord) - Hopefully Jimmie Allen releases it • Jake Owen: "Summer Jam" (Endless Summer)

I'm excited to find this thread! I'm going to try to go through one artist a day - so hopefully y'all will post as well so I'm not double posting :)
Starting off with Eric Church:
Sinners Like Me: "These Boots" - I can't believe they whiffed on this. When an artist's signature song was never even released as a single, you know you missed an opportunity. "What I Almost Was"
Carolina: "Without You Here"
Chief: - (Okay this is hard because sooo many songs off this album could have been smashes, and it's not like the singles chosen were mistakes. So read these as alternatives) "I'm Gettin' Stoned" "Hungover and Hard Up" "Over When It's Over' "Jack Daniels" "Keep On"
Mr. Misunderstood: "Holdin' My Own"
Desperate Man: - (Will be big mistakes if not released) "Hippie Radio" "Heart Like a Wheel" "Monsters"

You left out "Pledge Allegiance To The Hag". It is so popular he played it both nights when he was here. And everyone sang along.

There just wasn’t enough momentum for him to get anything high on the charts. Fair point. It's hard as a brand new artist to generate that momentum off the bat, no matter how much great material the album has. I'm sure if this album were released later in his career radio would have been tripping over itself to play these singles. I didn't even mention fan favorite "Pledge Allegiance to the Hag" or "Lightning" (wouldn't have been a hit, but one of his best ever songs). But it's still just mindblowing to me that they released four singles and none of them were "These Boots", the most obvious choice in my opinion.

Lady Antebellum• “Better Off Now (That You’re Gone) - Should’ve been the second single, especially going into the summer 747• “Lie With Me” - Again, should’ve been the second single. I'll never understand why they never released Better Off Now as a single. It was the obvious choice from the day I bought the album and I was sure that it would be released as a single. After getting so much flack for being boring during the Own the Night era, this was the perfect upbeat song that radio needed from them. I'm convinced it would have been huge. Lie With Me is another one of those songs that I can't believe they didn't release. It's one of my favorite songs that they've ever recorded and to think that they passed on this one to release Freestyle...I just don't get it.

Album isn't easy to find anymore since Audium/Koch Records folded but "I Like It Already" and "Mama's Last" should have most definitely been singles over "Inspiration" on David Lee Murphy's Tryin' To Get There album in 2004.

I'm not sure why David Lee never bought back the songs after the label went under. The mixtapes of "Loco" were available on iTunes as recently as a few years ago.

Brad Paisley
Who Needs Pictures: "Holdin' On to You"
Part II: "Come On Over Tonight" - (Instead of "I Wish You'd Stay")
Time Well Wasted: (It's hard to argue with the singles released, but there were plenty of good options for a 5th single:) "Waitin' On a Woman" - (obviously) "You Need a Man Around Here" "Time Well Wasted"
5th Gear: "Better Than This" "All I Wanted Was a Car"
American Saturday Night: "Everybody's Here"
This Is Country Music: "A Man Don't Have to Die" "One of Those Lives"
Wheelhouse: "Tin Can On a String" - (maybe 2013 was too late to get a hit with a sad ballad, but I always thought this song was great)
Moonshine In the Trunk: "4WP"
I realized going through his discography that most of my favorites of his album cuts would have been terrible singles - "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive", "Too Country", "Oh Yeah You're Gone", "Oh Love", "Famous People", "Gold All Over the Ground".

Joe Nichols: I always thought if Joe Nichols had been on the scene five years earlier, he would have become one of the biggest stars of the genre through the 00s alongside McGraw, Keith, Chesney, or Paisley. As it is, he belonged to the generation of Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, but unlike them he never quite made the jump to A-list before bro-country, and was too traditional to change his style after. He also suffered from bad timing in that George Strait and Alan Jackson were still big stars during his heyday; had he come along earlier he could have fit alongside them, had he been later her could have benefited from nostalgia about them (see Easton Corbin).
Revelation: "If I Ever Get Her Back" "I Wish That Wasn't All"
III: "Talk Me Out of Tampa" - (Seriously how did they pass over this one?) "As Country As She Gets"
Real Things: - The album wasn't his most radio friendly, but it's one of his best in my opinion. It's a shame they only released two singles with so many good songs. "Real Things" "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking"
Old Things New: "This Bed's Too Big"
It's All Good: "Somebody's Mama" "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You" "It's All Good"
Crickets "Smile On Mine" "Baby You're In Love With Me" "Old School Country Song"
Never Gets Old: "I'd Sing About You" - (HUGE!! missed opportunity. This had smash written all over it and could have revitalized his career) "So You're Saying There's a Chance"

Joe Nichols: III:"Talk Me Out of Tampa" - (Seriously how did they pass over this one?) "As Country As She Gets" Did you know that "Freedom Feels Like Lonely" was supposed to be the third single? They changed their minds when "Size Matters (Someday)" was wrapping up its chart run. Billy Currington was a co-writer and was told it would be the next single but then they went with "I'll Wait For You."

I almost added that one as well, but I thought the above two would have been bigger and three seemed like too many singles from that era to have been released. I like all three more than "I'll Wait For You", although I suppose they connected for a hit since it was a Top 10.

I’m sure this ones been mentioned by me before in this thread but “Adaliene” by Keith Anderson should’ve been a single. That song is so good and love the story of the song.

Josh Turner:
Long Black Train: "Unburn All Our Bridges" "In My Dreams" "Jacksonville"
Your Man: "Lord Have Mercy On a Country Boy" "Way Down South"
Everything Is Fine: "Baby, I Go Crazy" "South Carolina Low Country"
Punching Bag: - (releasing "Find Me a Baby" was a horrible decision and completely ruined his momentum) "Good Problem" "Whatcha Reckon"

If Tim had it his way, “Train #10” would have been a single as well as “Between The River and Me.” That second Greatest Hits album really torpedoed what he wanted to do.

Now that Keith has moved on from Graffiti U, "Horses" and "Parallel Line" were the smashes that never were. It's really ridiculous that "Coming Home" and "Never Comin' Down" were released over those 2.

I firmly believe “Bakersfield” by Jerrod Niemann would’ve been one of the biggest hits of the decade if released

Been listening to a lot of George Strait lately, so:
“Some Nights” and “Blue Water” from Honky Tonk Time Machine
In addition to “It Was Love”, “Take Me to Texas” and “Everything I See” would’ve been good singles from Cold Beer Conversation.
“When the Credits Roll”, “That’s What Breaking Hearts Do”, “When Love Comes Around Again”, “Sittin’ On the Fence”, and “Love Is Everything” from Love Is Everything were all radio-ready, and had bro-country not become so prevalent, I think George could’ve gotten quite a few hits from this album.
